Status report: Space (the weaponsmith) is quite injuried after a attempting to build a rose gold bridge to Strategia. Zombie ravens are more dangerous than they look. Also the fortress is completely open to an attack by air.
What is Space, Maker of Weapons, doing building bridges? I thought we learned our lesson from when we tried to have him Make The Armor.

You're the third person this week whose computer broke. Haha.

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: Is it possible to snap necks?
« on: May 19, 2013, 09:30:36 pm »
Closest thing is to punch the victim in the head, tearing apart the upper spine's nervous tissue. Which is pretty much the same thing as breaking their neck. No way to reliably cause that to happen though.

That's why you do the write-up after you upload the save :P

Ok come on people; it doesn't take more than a couple hours to play through a session of adventure mode, probably even less than that if you died like a chump.

Why not just restrict everyone to a burrow inside the fortress proper while the minecarts are active?
(Also, I just noticed that Spish is female. Oh well. Too late now. She was having a gender crisis this turn.)
Perhaps it is you who is gender confused.

I like where this is going.

That was a pretty great turn GC, especially liked the unique perspective and drawlings. I don't think we'll have any issues with the new recruits though. As far as I can tell, ineligibility for nobility is the only problem.

It is up to date. There are 15 fortresses out there, that is quite a lot actually. I am not aware of any map in the history of DF with more fortresses, of course that means filesize has increased quite dramatically too.
Simply visiting each of the fortresses one time in adventure mode will pretty much alleviate all their contributions to the filesize; travel next to them, exit/reenter travel, then travel out; 40MBs zapped away. Toady didn't give a clear answer, but I'm guessing DF doesn't automatically pack away the fortresses after you've finished with Fortress Mode.

"Count Eric" appears on the undead list, but the game is unable to locate him.
You can find him by selecting him in the Unit List and pressing C as in Count. He should be inside of a {dwarf cage}.

Helgoland is also undead, no redorfing him until that changes. :P
And stop puttin' Arcangelsd on the dorflist, he's perfectly happy as a zombie.

I am pleased to see that one of the only two survivors from my turn is The Space Who Makes The Weapons, along with Ledi, Murderous Cat Lady (...and Catalyst and AC from before that, somehow). But it seems we don't have a chief medical dwarf anymore, where'd Gizogin go? I don't recall anyone mentioning his disappearance, but I'm guessing they didn't notice because this is the Horrorfailed medical system we're talking about.

Speaking of medical stuff, lil' Jorlin has been strapped to a hospital bed for at least 5 years, despite having no injuries, and nobody has noticed.

It's the huge statue of an H with Strategia's corpse on it. How could you miss that? :P

Come to think of it, I've known about it all along and never thought to mention it.

207
An actually functional minecart system? Pinch me. :P

Ah, you didn't succumb to FPS death after finding the curious underground structure? Interesting...

The raptor can be trained for hunting (speed) or war (power). I'd like to clarify the reason the elves brought so few goods is because the Dragon Raptors weighed two tons each, so be careful about ordering a bunch of giant animals like I did. :P

DF General Discussion / Re: Future of the Fortress

Vampires are fine the way they are (apart from being attacked by their own troops upon being ousted, even if it was incredibly obvious). What I really want to see is werebeasts that blend in.

Speaking of vampires; what is up with Fortress Mode automatically (and irreversibly) labeling vampire blood-drinkers as vampires? Unintentional? Either way, it takes a lot of fun out of succession fortress vampire conspiracies when you can't covertly infect a select few members of the population without immediately giving them away.

looks like the people died after their turn due to wild magical good entity attacks.
the unicorns have been murdering your residents. you might want to invest in building a wall to keep animals out... or retire forts with more crossbow armed troops.
Nah, 6 is pretty much all the adventurers who have ever made it to the home, it's quite lonely in there. The only people getting killed are dwarf civilians.
