Well, that's not suspicious at all!

...Did we get a receipt? What's the total?

You check your receipt again. Exactly $50. Damn, that's so satisfying for some reason.

Anyways... better get this food home. Fortunately you don't live far from the store, and the overland streets aren't too crowded. Might even be good to try walking here more often. Theoretically. Soon enough you pull in at your parking space and carry the goods back to your apartment, fumbling a bit with the keys as you've got a bag under each arm.

Huh... it occurs to you that, with a job like this, you could come home and take a break whenever you wanted. Well... if there was much really to do in here. You've got a TV, a few DVDs below it, a small collection of books in the bedroom... that's about it, really. No computer. You've just been using your phone for all your net needs. Guess you could always come in and take a nap or eat something though. You bring the food over to the kitchen nook in the back and start loading it into the nearly empty fridge. You're good about not letting anything go to waste, at least.

With everything where it should be, and the paper bags stored away for later use, you take a look at the time. 7:46. Alright, there's probably still some of the morning hustle and bustle to take advantage of.

You pick up some extra eggs, flour, herbs, and a few other things, since you'd like to experiment with quiches. As you're heading for checkout, you notice a box of microwave shepherd's pie in the freezer section which intrigues your curiosity, but perhaps next week. Awesome, an open lane with no line.

"$50," says the clerk. There's something satisfying about all your purchases coming to such an exact amount. As he languidly places your groceries into paper bags, you notice the clerk isn't wearing a nametag. Hmm, hope that guy doesn't get in trouble for that. You thank him when he's done and scoop up your bags, passing on the way out the ATM you opted not to use along with one of those machines that vends little toys in capsules.

The day's looking a bit darker out as you get into your car. Starting to look less like overcast and more like cloudy. Well, the half hour's almost up.

(Now I feel like a dink for pausing there :v)

"Hi, yes. I'm Elia Opal, and I'd like to make a deposit?"

"Of course. Do you have your card?"

"Yeah," you reply, taking it out and beginning to lay out the money. You feel slightly nervous as she starts counting it, as a bunch of $20 bills seems somehow suspicious when you think about it, but she's got them all counted and stowed away without batting an eye. "Thanks."

"Will that be all?"

"Yeah, that's all." You take your receipt and head back out. Well, that was painless. Hmm. Are those overcast clouds looking a bit darker?

Next you head to the supermarket, to pick up about fifty dollars worth of food. You know your list by heart at this point, though you're picking up some slightly different things this week since you feel like learning to make...

Granted. This results in wishes being incredibly long and tediously worded to cover every eventuality, and corruptions that are non-sequiturs to the content of those wishes and hence unsatisfying.

I wish I'd seen the actual latest wish to corrupt rather than the one a few pages back, which made me look foolish :v

Granted, but it gets as weird as the show itself.

I wish I could live on the planet from Subnautica, and have luck not to end up dead.

Hearing a lot of talk of High Rock. Think it'll be set before Skyrim?

I just hope they don't do that visual design thing they did in ESO, where everything that used to be colorful is now made of the same blocks of the same kind of dark grey stone, such that everything looks like Windhelm.

Colorful plaster-looking structures of Dunmer architecture? Hello dark grey stone blocks.

Remember in Oblivion that lady talking about the Summerset Isles with golden towers and green butterfly-pattern glass accents? Well, here's your Windhelm-stone gothic castle.

Wow, I wonder what kind of weird look the ruins in the ancient swamps of Argonia will- Oh, like Windhelm.

You usually just use ATMs, but you also usually don't deposit cash. Better safe than sorry, you figure. You start heading to the bank. Well, technically it's a credit union, but "bank" is shorter. It's not very far, and soon you're entering the little two-story office. Jeez, you're not sure you've been in here since you opened your account.

There's an open counter with a nameplate on it reading "Petra Farooqi," and the woman sitting on the other side looks up as you approach. "Yes?"

Yeah, should probably deposit that. Maybe get groceries too if there's time.

You suppose you could take care of two things at once. Question is whether you'd rather use an ATM at the grocery store, or take your money straight to the bank.

"Given the weird things that have been going on with this job I'll probably be coming around here a lot more. See ya around."

"Oh... uh, sure. See ya!" Steve waves, and fits his headphones back on as you start driving away.

Well, that was... Steve. Looks like you shouldn't take any passengers for half an hour, so you'd best think of another way to use this time. Perhaps you could take this time to make a grocery run, deposit Roger's money, or just chill out. Or maybe something else.

"Just two days. And it's... different. Mind, I've only given three rides so far, but you would not imagine the kind of people you meet."

"No shit?"

"Yeah... anyways, thanks for the help."

Steve nods. "You're gonna want to leave the patches alone for maybe half an hour. Probably should have brought that up earlier but, I didn't know. Sorry."

"It's alright, I could probably run an errand or two."

As you start the car and prepare to pull out of the shop, Steve leans towards the window. "Don't be such a stranger, Elly, uh? Good luck with the ridesharing!"

With Steve's help, you soon have the patches on over the claw marks and cloth sealant painted around the edges. As you're finishing the last ironing, he notices the sticker in the corner of your windshield. "Oh shit, you're working ReWheels? Since when? Also, how is it?"

Drive home and start the repairs?

"Well, thanks, Steve. I should head out and put this patch on, then."

"Hey, wait, Elly," Steve holds up his hand. "How about I help you put those patches on? It's not like we've got anyone else in shop right now."
