I downloaded the version from the sticky. I only mentioned leadership as that's what I saw it referred to =/

So judges have to be bought stuff? Greedy sods. Is there anyway to dismiss a liberal then? I accidentally recruited someone who is 30/70 Wisdom/Heart.

Maybe there's a flaw with my ways but I found it easy to max persuasion by having people constantly meet you and just chatting rather than accepting them. Seems to also get you a -slight- bonus in their top skill too.

Curses / Newbie Player - Questions
« on: September 19, 2011, 08:00:33 pm »
Hey guys, really enjoying LCS at the moment. I've got a couple of issues however.

Whenever I assault someone I seem to get a CTD. I've had it happen twice with a police officer and once with a gang-member. Is this a known issue or is there something I can do about it?

Secondly, if I wanted to make the largest possible (and most efficient) crime squad, how would I go about it? Should my founder only recruit a secondary tier of people with high leadership?

Finally, judges. Can they actually be recruited or do you have to seduce them? On my 12ish Persuasuion character I could easily get liberal judges to come by the next day but they'd always get scared off by my founder sounding insane.

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: Accidental Sword Duplication

I've seen this as well. Getting things stuck in people and grabbing them will create dupes (or maybe just repetitively list, but I noticed multiple copies not just a right/left hand) for a temporary period. Throwing the duped weapon will cause it to go back to normal as will removing it.

I thought there was a problem with the game using the wrong material reference for the damage? Instead of using the tip it used the whole bolt? Maybe I'm dreaming though.

But then people would complain about the uselessness of boats because there is nothing in the ocean. Until pirate wolves are added.

Hmmm...
If I remember correctly... clowns have [CAN_LEARN]?

I sense great opportunity.

[SIZE:2000000000000000000000000000000000] or something similar. I did that a while ago. Was hilarious until I fell down a z level and crippled myself. You can chuck dragons inside their own lairs and make them explode against the walls. No to mention wrestling giants.

If that's not classy enough for you, make your skin out of Adamantine. Anything is possible with raw editing :D

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Microcline

I don't dislike microcline. I dislike that the furniture masons all insist on constructing doors of it which clash with all the walls but otherwise it's nice. I usually use it as my wall substance (because there's infinite of it so I never have to worry about half finishing a wall and running out of stone I made it of.

Source? Dwarves only dodge sideways, even if it means dancing through the air before they fall.

What I meant to say is they can only dodge sideways up one z-level. From what I understand here we've established that when dodging they can dodge to the left and end up on top of a wall (ie. one zlevel above their previous) that exists in that square, to the left of them, on their z level

"The Recruit stabs the rhesus macaque in the body with his adamantine spear, tearing the fat; the adamantine spear is lodged in the wound! A rhesus macaque has stolen an adamantine spear!"

Rage induced cries of "Curse you monkeys!" follow as you realise that you just permanately lost adamantine.

Perhaps I should implement Osmium whips, just to make life that little bit more special.

Wrong; Murphy's Law guarantees it won't activate when you want it but the second you are doing something important or sciencey that you do not want to repeat...

Also; I take it dwarves can dodge up 1z level not multiple yes? So if we built a 2z level 1x1 corridor it could act as an effective dwarf cannon as previously discussed?

From what I remember the only way to make slaves was to have a sub-caste of your race. This of course results in the babbys of two upper-middle class ogres being possible slave caste.

DF Modding / Modifying dwarves for fun and horror
« on: September 03, 2011, 08:58:30 pm »
Hey guys; I haven't done much modding (most adventurous I got was changing dwarves to be massive and punch like a whip) but I'm curious as to what sort of things it's possible to do with dwarves. In particular, adding tags or making changes to them to make them a) Stronger/more rubust and b) hilariously sadistic.

I've already added firebreath and some of the other obvious ones like [NOPAIN][NOFEAR]. That was quite amusing when I embarked with ~100 birds and the dwarves got LOS to an enemy and decided to roast my entire supply of chickens... However I'd like to hear some of the other additions you can make to dwarves to buff them up or make them more efficient (milkable female dwarves for example)

Also; Is the only requirement for butcherable elves and humans the change of the two ethics tags?

Edit: Is it necessary to remove [TRANCES] for [PRONE_TO_RAGE:1] to work on dwarves?
