DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: Biggest wtf moment

I believe this is the second or third time I've posted a comment about throwing phalluses but that won't stop me.

"The spinning Adventurer's phallus strikes the fish dissector in the phallus, bruising the skin.
The Adventurer's phallus has lodged firmly in the wound!"

I'm not actually entirely sure that would be possible but even the concept amuses (and worries) me.

[breathes_fire] and [fireimmune_super] or something similar should be in the dragon raws. Don't quote me because I haven't played around with raws in a while but they're definitely there.

Yet here we are dropping kittens on our dwarves to turn them into emotionless monsters; there's still plenty of "wrong" about DF. Although I spose when you implement a peaceful civilisation of mermaids you really don't expect your playerbase to attempt to farm and butcher your creation.

Butchery and eggs. Armok help me if the RSPCA (or whatever the equivalent is) ever saw my fortresses...

Can someone explain to me how the value of rooms is calculated? I assume it's relative to the other rooms in the fortress because my "Opulent Throne Room" office degraded into a a "Royal Office" or something similar over time. Will having a fortress full of amazing rooms eventually make your dwarves spoilt?

I could only see that addition ending well, especially with Genesis and the other mods that err... "expand the dwarven anatomy"

Candy shield.

Sure, it has good blocking capabilities, but it's made of FREAKING CANDY.

Just imagine when your fearsome hero is locked into an extreme battle against 5 enemies... He blocks 3 sword strokes, dodges a 4th and closes in on one of the evil doers! He raises his mighty shield and BASHES the foe in the face! With the equivalent of an inflatable baseball bats worth of weight.

I find the idea of a dwarf managing to jump a solid 5 metres onto a wall to dodge a bite from a badger quite amusing.

I do enjoy modifying the raws so dwarven hands have a contact area of effectively 0 so they use their hands like whips. Nothing quite like chipping bones with your bare (bear amirite?) hands. Apart from that, changing size to ridiculous values and then throwing people is quite amusing.

When I play legitimately I tend to play as a swordsdwarf wrestler. I typically disarm all enemies and throw their own weapons into them if that counts. Breaking joints is another favourite.

You need to find a lair to drop it in.

Platinum mace-legs would be even more blinged out.

Hell I'm just imagining modding in a Strogg type race and making a "Bereserker" race like those crazy arse guys with the Sword-Arms in QII. Much fun would be had by all.

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: Open Hand for Wrestling
« on: August 15, 2011, 07:16:22 am »
For the record the throw you are thinking of was not the wrestling throw move. A wrestling throw is a slightly stronger "takedown" that will stun the enemy. Unless you happen to be size:100000000000000 in which case you will literally blow apart just about anything by throwing them around. The throw of the wambler was the "t" style throw, where you somehow manage to propel potentially any object into a spin at some poor creature. This has also been nerfed as of late however.

Hands are good for disarms and for eye gouges. Apart from that they aren't special. Pinching hands can be a good way to spam train wrestling however.

Blindness pretty much means you can see 1 square in each direction. Almost all attacks will miss (almost, you'll still probably get headshotted by a legless, bone-chipped, disembowelled, blind goblin archer because computers hate you) when you're blind.

CINNABAR!
BASALT!
ALUNITE!

I rarely get Orthoclase or Microline anymore... I kinda miss Microline; it made colourful walls. Plus the red really stood out against the bluey colour.

Possible yes. But you really need beds.

*cough Rock Pots cough* in regards to the barrels. Bins would suck though. Spose you'd find a use for all the copper and lead however.

I thought it had been confirmed that weapons did not transfer poisons from blood and etc? In fact I'd wager that if the dwarf had hit the rutherer it would have coated the pick in rutherer blood instead and that would remove the bio weapon.

Interesting if it's legit however.
