DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: What's going on in your fort?

My queen hasn't made any mandate or demand.
She doesn't have any friend in this fortress.
She's 97 years old and doesn't have any family member.
She doesn't have any negative thought, yet.

You are blessed.
...Are you sure she's a dwarf?

She just demanded a nickle silver cabinet in her bedroom
But the demand was already satisfied, because there was already a nickle silver cabinet there.

Hospital of Horror

A new recruit fought a forgotten beast and got poisoned. He's now rotting away. My chief medical dwarf is operating on him, removing rotten tissues.
She's carrying her baby while doing the surgery.

I should thank whoever destroy the trade depot while I was trading with the elves.
Because the doctor has already used more than ten wood splints.

The surgery was a success. The patient ran away to do combat drills...still faint. There were 12 splints on him.

They were probably kidnaped when they were children.
You'll see some human recruits, in time.

DF Modding / Special tiles?

I'm not sure whether this is the right board to post.
But is it possible to make a quiver not use the same tile as a chest, nor make a minecart track not look like a table?

 :P

DF Gameplay Questions / Caught in the rain
« on: December 06, 2014, 12:30:49 am »
I saw several of my dorfs have a negative thought of being caught in the rain.
But my map was a desert and there was no rain announcement at all.

Could it be the waterfall? But if so all of my dorfs should have this thought.

Miners are strong. So if they are lucky, they are deadly killers.
My first FB was killed by a miner, copper pick in the brain. I didn't even notice until I check the combat log...

Woodcutters sometimes can do similar thing, because they always have their battle axes equipped.

That happens?
I never had a woodcutter who hurt theirselves or hurt other dorfs.
I've seen bruises, this is the first serious injury.

Well maybe woodcutters should wear full steel equipments...

Brooks have a solid surface.
I don't know if this is a bug, but indeed you can walk over them without wetting your feet.

If your civilization is dead, shouldn't one of your dorf have become a king so far?

After the human vampire was killed by my dorfs, they sent a new diplomat. This female diplomat had only one body guard.
But after the meeting with my duchess was over, they tried to leave via my cavern. Suddenly, a forgotten beast came!
The diplomat ran for her life, leaving her body guard fought the FB. The sowrdman badly wounded the beast but was knocked out and killed.
Now the FB and the diplomat are both locked in my basement. My dorfs are reparing the defense system smashed by vandalism.

I killed the FB. Now another crossbow got a name.
