Right now, I'm trying to mod my first creature. Is it possible for a creature to have multiple hearts? And if so, will it keep fighting if it loses a heart?

It's possible to have multiple hearts. I believe that it will cause massive bleeding if it loses one. It'll keep fighting, but it'll still bleed out as normal. Multiple brains are redundant, you can lose a brain and still function, as will multiple hearts, but the heart's main function in this game is to cause massive bleeding, so one punctured heart will probably kill the creature anyway.

Also, I want dangerous mining, similar to corrosion, but I can't think of any generic rock names without plagiarizing corrosion >_>

I'm planning to make caste-only mining through syndromes that only effect certain castes, and I know how to do that, I just need names and I need to know some REALLY effective syndromes :P

Actually, I would like a "save and continue" as well as a "save and exit."

There probably aren't many times when I would use "save and continue", but there are a handful of times when you're testing a buggy mod or something that it might be nice.

Eh, this game is too roguelike to have that. 'Twould cause save-scumming.

Clearly, you don't pay enough attention :P

As of the next update, the game will, by the version number, be ~1/3 complete. The game has been in development for 8 years. At that rate, it will be done 16 years after the next update!

Toady likes to say that it'll be done "in 20 years".

Also, I think the soda thing may be a caffeine addiction. Rather than fixing the sink, it would be better to get him some tea or something.

Sounds like they were on the wrong side of the river.

Also, bronze colossi could attack; 80 dwarves is just where megabeasts start showing up. If there is no bronze colossus in your world, you will not see one ever.

In other words - we have a basic MP setup, which is more than we had a month ago.  Don't expect Toady to make allowances for MP because we want it.  He'll do that when and IF he ever decides to make MP easier.  For now, as with every other modding attempt, use what you can and enjoy it.

DFTerm has been around since march or earlier >_>
