I just hope the level scaling isn't as dramatic as it was in Oblivion. I didn't mind the game trying to adjust itself to make it a bit more difficult during late game, but when even the lowliest bandits have godlike armor and weapons, it is just ridiculous. I loved Oblivion and Morrowind alike, but it when it came to the transition from Morrowind to Oblivion, they seemed to dumb the series down a bit. Of course getting murdered by cliff racers in early game Morrowind was annoying, but after awhile it was nice to feel like a demigod capable of annihilating most common enemies. I really hope they don't make Elder Scrolls V simple or easy, but I'm guessing that from the financial success of Oblivion, this is unlikely. They seem to have a general trend to make games simpler and more accesible for the general populace, but for those who actually know how to play games, this kind of sucks.

Eh, regardless of what it turns out to be, I will almost certainly buying this game when it comes out. I am too much of an elder scrolls junkie to not :)  I really hope there i'm not busy when this comes out, because I am betting that I will pretty much be playing this game nonstop when it comes out.

I was an Elder Scrolls Junkie until Oblivion came out and basically ignored/rewrote most of the lore.  Turning Cyrodiil from a rainforest into generic middle earth wannabe land just for the sake of making it more generic.  That and the hundreds of other individual issues which added up to make Oblivion pretty much the worst game ever to be widely popular.

Why is it that Peter Molyneux can say a bunch of really cool stuff and not deliver and then everyone things he's insane, but Todd Howard can say a bunch of really cool stuff, and not deliver, and everyone just pretends he did?

I may be exaggerating a bit, but that's nothing compared to the people who say it's a great game.   Pete Hines himself specifically stated in an interview several months after the game came out that NO ONE disliked it.  But new Beth commonly tell outright lies and fabricate evidence to support them it seems.  Like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjbx6-KQoRg

For the love of all that is good in this world... why?
I don't care in the slightest about the trailer, it has nothing, whatsoever, to do with the game (Oh god I hope).  I'm just looking forward to it because if it's at least as good as Oblivion was (Yeah yeah, Oblivion was terrible compared to Morowind, yadda yadda.  I enjoyed it a hell of a lot) then I will love it.  Maybe I'm being too faithful to Bethesda, to not go backwards in quality, but I dunno, I liked Fallout 3, and New Vegas was good (Bugs, etcetera, whatever), if only it were actually new and not just more of an expandalone.

New Vegas was made by Obsidian, a company made up in large part of people from the developer of the original two Fallout games, not Bethesda.

Oblivion is terrible compared to most things.  Seriously.  What is good about it?  You wander around an empty lifeless world killing random mobs and collecting plants.  Sure you can find some quests that add context to your killing things, but all you're ever really doing is killing things, or waiting to kill things while an NPC drones some inane proclamations about your impending doom before they attack your fully Daedric armored hide with a tooth pick and promptly die in two hits.  Or waiting because the game decided to take control away from you while it tries to insta kill some NPC.  There's basically one truly good thing in the entire game.  Rain of flaming dogs.

Well if we're going to speculate, It's modern Bethesda.  It'll have extremely bland, derivative gameplay and an extremely bland, derivative story, and an extremely bland, derivative world, and also some really stupid attempts at humor that just fall flat.

Did anyone else find that trailer to be... really really bad?  I mean, I hate Oblivion and I still like it's trailer more than I liked that one.

On the other hand, judging by that trailer, it looks to be single player, so, I am sooooooooo looking forward to it.

For the love of all that is good in this world... why?

You know I never really noticed before, but Assassin's Creed has some really unreliable controls.  It works great going in a straight line but you better hope you don't have to make any sharp turns because the camera will immediately begin to lazily list towards the way you're moving, serving only to throw off your angle with the camera and jump off a cliff.

After surviving an anomaly, a horde of nosalisses and falling out of the hand car at the last second and running the rest of the way to the barricade I got hit by a few shotgun pellets and was playing on ranger mode.  Artyom seems a lot better at dealing with mutants than other humans, though I suppose being unable to say anything except as past tense narration doesn't help.

Also, Ezio fell off another roof.

If anyone is still not convinced to not get this game, heres a Let's Play by me and Shad (Look, more advertising! Yay!) and some other guy. I start off really excited to play because I didnt know it was a bad game. Something like 50 parts of bad. Full playthrough, though, so if that's your thing...

Hm, after watching the first couple of videos I'd suggest that you might enjoy the game a bit more if you actually paid any attention to what was going on. :-\

Ezio decided he knew better which way to jump off a roof.  He was wrong.

Half price on Steam = I just bought this.

I think I'd be interested in it if there was something more to it than being really really scary.  I just don't really like those kinds of games.  I played the original penumbra back when it was free and I just couldn't get far because all it was was dark corridors and freaky monsters.

I think that it comes from the notion that anytime theres a mass of fluids in games, something bad is there.
...and either really hard to see/hit, or...faster than you.

OH GOD THE GIANT FISH IN HALF LIFE AAAGHHH

I wish any of my friends had any interest in RPGs... oh well, I'm anti social enough that I actually find it easier to roleplay in PBP anyway.

It's kind of funny.  I used to think that TR was was team players, NC was for wannabe leetxors, and VS was just for the rejects.  Then I found Azure Twilight.

Allow me to be cynical and say that the bad ending was the good ending as well. But with a caveat.

Hm, I watched the trailer on Steam today and um... Is it really like that or is that just a cinematic?  I mean the guy following the sound of a woman crying for help only to run away before he even sees anything threatening and all the panting and gasping?
