So, there's no way for the walls to be destroyed (unless made of wood and on fire, etc)?


IIRC even walls made of wood will be fine with fire and magma.

Tip: Walls, floors, stairs, ramps, fortifications. These are constructions, they can never be destroyed because they were made by DWARVES. Even those hulking building destroyers will never enter a walled in fort.

Even an ice wall + magma will never, ever melt. Provided it is made by a dwarf though and not just smoothened out but that is another story  :)

And try ranged equipment from then on, you will want to leave melee to him. Dust gets stuck in your eyes  :P

By the "bad" side, construction of any type (including mining) goes like this:

W>E>N>S>NW>NE>SW>SE

Its horizontal/vertical then diagonally (diagonally only works with mining I'm told)

I tried going one on one with a night monster in its own lair, got lucky hits in and decided to take the night out in it.

Only to find out that it has a husband...Sleeping so soundly, I find a knife right next to my face, next thing I know is just a cracking sound and then blackness.

Idea: If we want a first multiplayer fort in the hall of legends, why don't we work for it? Looks very hard in multiplayer when people are on and off at times but that is what the Notes option is for  :D

If you gen a world where your parent civ is dead, go use that, it fixes the number of dwarves you have and adds to the fun of it all  :) . Currently living 10 years with only <25 dwarves. No deaths yet and 2 warring civs (Genesis)

Also if you do get to use Genesis, make sure you do have centaurs and you are at war/ at strained relations with them. Their size gives them a nice advantage!

Just got the mod.. looks great so far, but one thing is driving me aBsolutely nuts - the music.. I KNOW THIS MUSIC! But I can't place my finger on it! Where's it from? More specifically, the music in-game in dwarf mode.  *Twitch*

Anyway the new additions to Genesis are great!. I'm using the one before they removed Illithids and werewolves but still, I love a mod that compiles all mods. With extras!




Bug (?): In an effort to drain and dam the brook I had, with water spilling overland and muddying it all, in some time (autumn, winter, spring. Frozen ice spilling out of pump -> Unfrozen overland water)

Then all dead bushes/tree saplings appeared as ASCII in Ironhand graphics (Giant red I's)

yes, but why clowns?  that's what i want to know.

Toady wanted this to be hidden, for those who have experienced it he came up with euphemisms to hide the words.

"The circus is lots of fun".

That is how you hide it but it seems that now, many people overuse it and then spoil it.

We need more experienced scribes around here. Newbies deserve their fun in the right way.

I made pet rocks once.
They were modified cave blobs made from granite that died easily.

a mod I use has tiny granite creatures called momons, and they wiped out my fort, after shrugging off war hammers, picks, spears, swords, etc.

how the fuck are they weak?
I dunno, but it seems that one hit seems to kill them.

I guess you forgot to edit the structure and skin (?) layers of those blobs, there is still a lot more to edit than just the composition of the creature. Ask someone who knows how to edit the Raws, you may have missed something.




And is my idea of pet rocks coming through?  :P

Don't forget, all thieves aim for children (not kobolds, they aim for stuff mostly)

Children either meet at the wagon (default), in their bedroom (if you designated any) or in a meeting hall/meeting area so if any of the above are well guarded, the goblins will have lots of fun getting to you!

Simple solution for the over-curious.

Demons aren't spoiled if you see them in adventure mode.

They ARE spoiled when people just tell what happens when you pull the thingy from the earth.


That just kills the fun in what you will find out by a long shot.  :'(
