How's the farm doing? On Episode 43 of Stardew Valley I wax poetical about the virtues of crystal sound effects in the mines. Also I get some iron and kill some slimes, if you're into that sort of thing.

Oh dear... Just tried to log in to the server to poke around and see what you guys have done so far, and it was so laggy that half the world simply refused to load in. I gave it about five minutes before giving up and disconnecting. Is it really that laggy, or was I unlucky? I tried twice, with the same result. I never have lag problems with this pack playing with my mom, so I don't think it's the pack itself, or my internet.

Midomi doesn't come up with anything. It's possible it was written specifically for the ad. Try contacting Baileys and asking about the song?

This 3-day-a-week schedule is much easier to keep up! Check out a new game I've been meaning to get to for a while: Grow Up Episode 1. It's the sequel to Grow Home, and though the reviews aren't stellar, I'm having a super excited time so far.

In Episode 9 of Farming Valley I finally figure out how to repair and upgrade my tools! It is extremely counterintuitive. Also, I need votes on what to build next!

Eh, like I said the issue I have with 1.10 is that the mods in them are quite sparse and not terribly interlinked. Also, there's often more missing features in the packs than added ones. One good example is TiCo, which has added tinker tanks. In return, the only ranged weapon present is the shuriken.

Actually, I believe crossbows have been re-added. They weren't there originally but I saw them recently in HermitPack. In fact, I think there were other types of tinker bows, too.

I've been enjoying the HermitPack with my mom. It's a pretty fun pack, and they've done some balancing to tone down the OP-ness of it (I think torcherinos are totally out now, for example). I would likely join in at least casually if you use that one.

The long-awaited Episode 42 of Stardew Valley is here at last, and none has ever derped such as I have derped in this one.

Holy crap delicious soup with almost zero effort.

1: Cut up and sautee an onion in olive oil, in the bottom of a large soup pot.
2: Dump in 1/2 cup each of: dried pearled barley, dried green split peas, dried yellow split peas, dried green lentils.
3: Fill the pot with water (maybe 2 liters?) and bring to a boil; skim off the foam as it appears.
4: Add 1-1.5 cups each of frozen sweet corn and frozen soup veggies (easy to find here and contains finely chopped carrot, parsley root, sliced leek, and some other herbs; if not available to you, chop some carrots and parsley root when you do the onion and sautee with it, add whatever other spices you want), plus a single veggie stock cube.
5: Cover, reduce temperature so it's just boiling; check it now and then and stir it up.
6: After around 90 minutes, add 1/2 cup dried red lentils (you can do it earlier, I just prefer not to let them completely disintegrate).
7: 20-30 minutes after that, you have soup. Best soup.
8: Eat soup.

Time to go mining in Episode 8! And it is exciting stuff! Still can't figure out how to repair my tools though. Anyone have any ideas?

Long overdue, and with apologies - I've been under the weather, but I haven't been idle. Enjoy Episode 7 of Farming Valley and enjoy the start of the tour of my new farm!

Recently, my (Windows 8) computer is doing something weird. Every now and then (maybe once every few hours?) seemingly at random, often while I'm just watching a video or something, my default browser (Chrome) opens a tab to the url: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=219472&clcid=0x409

I did a virus scan, nothing. I tried a Google search and it seems it has something to do with Bing and the solution is to remove all Bing-related programs and apps from the computer. I have definitely never allowed that abomination onto my computer, but I went through and checked - no Bing anywhere. The only reference I could find to it anywhere is in the IE extensions (and I've never opened that browser since getting the computer). It's listed as the default search engine and can't be removed. But no programs, no apps, nothing.

This only started happening recently. The only thing I installed recently is software for my new graphics tablet - just drivers and a drawing program, nothing that should do anything to a browser. I haven't updated Windows either, except to try to update the virus definitions - and that freezes every time I try it, no idea why, it just hangs about 25% of the way through and stays that way until I shut down the computer. It won't update anymore.

Any ideas? What's up with this, and how can I fix it? It's very annoying.

Part 4 of The Magic Circle! It is getting weirder with time.

Probably. They didn't seem to be very popular - would you like to see that series continue? I haven't had time to play lately.

Episode 6 of Farming Valley has me planting TOO MANY SAPLINGS and facing the consequences.

It also represents the last of the pre-prepared videos I had as a buffer, so fingers crossed I have the time and energy to record and edit something tomorrow!
