Erm. We need to feed our non-mutated guys too you know.

Which is why we would gather all the food rather than destroying it. And then we hope that we can get an alternative food supply before we run out.

19967
Well, I donīt know with you. But I am having a hard time seeing the problem with the enemy eating our food. I mean, do you really think that enemy soldiers will survive untouched if they eat from our fleshtress, from our ratfarms, or anything else? Lets focus on making our food sources more corrupted instead.

And when the enemy tries to siege us. Let them try to resist not drinking from the (now more and more corrupted) river, from our ratfarms, or flashtrees. With a bit of luck. We will actually gain troups if the enemy tries to attack us.

But if that is going to succed, we need to make an effort in corrupting the food and water here.

And NRDL: We will have our chances of making superduper evil armies aswell. Donīt worry about that!

They won't be eating from the fleshtrees, the rat farms or whatever corrupted food resource there is. They will just forage from the forest or (slightly) corrupted river.
The whole point of the action is to destroy all non-corrupted food supplies( which are way to large to corrupt) and replacing them with corrupted ones(Or not replacing them at all, depends on how much you want to invest). Besides, by destroying the wildlife/ fishpopulations here, other settelements across our borders might face shortages as well.

It's demonic and nice, but we have to many human peons to do this, that's why i Want to slowly replace them with imp\mutant peons

The problem is that we do need our worshippers. And in the (very very) long term, we need peons able to reproduce. I think human peons are a good standard unit. With imps/mutations used at special tasks.
Well, maybe we can make the Giant rats resistant to the poison and then use them to feed our people?

19969
If we start plundering the area around our cities now(Gathering all food/ destroying forest, killing edible wildlife), we will both prevent an incoming army from gaining any supplies and at the same time gain quite a large amount of supplies.
After that our food stocks will plumet but with a bit of luck we have enough time to change our human peons into something more useful.

+1.  Also, what would we change our human peons ( cultists or slaves ) into?
U.R. wants to replace them with imps/ mutants. We might make them cannabalistic or simply make them resistant against some of the poisons. Also, create giant nets and fish the river clean, if we destroy the fish stocks here, it will certainly have an effect on the supplies up/down stream.

Also, what happened with the source corruption, has it had any noticeble effect yet?

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Magma Pipe Refilling Speeds
« on: February 08, 2012, 10:31:41 am »
The wiki leads me to believe that magma pipes (pools) refill themselves.  Do they refill themselves all the way up to the top level that they originally go to?  How quickly do they refill?  Can I pump magma out more quickly than they refill?  If I want to be chugging out a huge amount of magma up to the surface then how many levels below the top one should I chunt it out from? 3 layers down?  4?  10?  Woof woof!
Yes
SLow, might take a year if you drain it to much
Surely, you can even pump them dry, I think( don't do that)
I think 5-10  layers is a good number.
Also I think someone devised a specialiszed way to tap magma pipes, someone 'll probably link to his plans soon.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Curious structure
« on: February 08, 2012, 10:29:48 am »
If the thing is what I think it is, you can't dig through the wall. There's an entrance though. Explore the structure and open it.

Watch out though, there're some undead inside it.

Roll To Dodge / Re: Timetraveling RTD Turn 4
« on: February 08, 2012, 09:58:16 am »
So has everyone decided what they want to do yet?
So far it looks like some of you decided to go and kill the clockwork drones while the other half decided to surrender, get killed in the crossfire.

19975
Yeah, sorry bout that.  All the morale fails were due to bad rolls.  And Culloden won because they had something which RAISED their morale.  If we find some scientific way to increase happiness ( without using psychotropic substances ) the morale advantage of the Tall Man could be seriously negated.

Too bad he would also have an army of nightmarish creatures and insane cultists.  Any way to get around that?
Traditional Slashy-Slah, Magical weaponry method?
Get shoes, research the place you're going to.  Bring a book on science and engineering, along with a book on demons, in general.

Knowledge is power, Obek is gonna need as much as possible, if this is going where I think it's going.

Also...a sword that can hurt demons?  I wonder if Nuke.19 will incorporate that...
He probably will, he said that Iituem, cerapa and him were exhanging notes.

Also, take a book on Satire/ Irony/Bad humour in general with you, demons feed on fear, so if you can take that away they will be easier to kill.
Agreed. and bring writing utinciles and parchments. You need to take down notes for quick searching and to help with memorizing. Plus, what if something happens to the books on the way.

That would also mean you need a bag.
Preferably a donkey, or horse if You can get those.

...Really?  A jokebook, that's what he's gonna fight The Tall Man with, a glorified jokebook?

Edit: Sorry if I sound hostile.
Think of it, all of the armies sent against him failed because of critically low morale. Though a book about the slaying of demons would probably be useful too.

Also, I was more intended as a joke first.

Totally meant to say yes to the extension. Anything that extends this awesomeness is welcome! Hell, I'd love if there was a season of this with multiple races :P
I'll probably do another one of these after this one finishes. Not sure if I will keep using this setting / vehicles, but it will use more or less the same system. Not that much the same, as I think i have modified almost every rule since the game started.

Also, sorry Tyrin ,it seems I have forgotten you to update yours

Look around for more things to eat. We should try to develop some safe version of the attack Peweaseadeopod-thingy that we can use to pass along small freefloating pieces of DNA, like bacteria do.
Like a pili?

Also, I'm going to be updating a bit faster, possibly multiple times a day if there's an interesting suggestion. Combat will also be several smaller posts to get suggestions on what to do, rather than me just narrating the whole of combat. Because that's no fun.
I suppose so. The look isn't important, the important fact is the ability to spread genetic changes horizontally across the population.(Greater immunity against diseases and stuff like that)

Hmm...  well, there's pretty much no way I'll ever make to the checkpoint today with the -2 race roll.

Toaster swore at the horrible rain.  While the mud wasn't a problem for a hovercraft, all the rain was interfering with the hover apparatus, causing essentially the same delay.

"Steve, what say we pull over at that shop ahead and get into the dry?  There's something that needs to be done..."  Toaster glances at the slack crewman that he had all but forgotten about.

Steve looks back and nods."
