Aside from what you said (caste abuse), the only solution is to use those hacks (like DFusion and DFHack)

Also, IIRC, to make those creatures able work for your fort with those hacks, you must remove [PET] tags. Such is the mysteries of life.

8147
Actually, the ALL tag does work. I've been using that all the time and no syndromes. It's probably the ordering of your creature's tags

Helmet snakes are one such example of the ALL tag working

My Phantasy Star Online for the original xbox is glitched. Won't get past De Rol Le. Arrgh.

Would be nice if it could pierce up to five enemies. Flamelash, while having nice damage, is kind of useless due to 2 hits and it's gone. At least that thing could be used as a surface scanner.

Thanks. I just noted that after killing about six goblins, a single wambler didn't die of heat while in lava. IT DIED OF DROWNING. That's right, this thing is so awesome that while it is drowning in burning magma, the thing it has to worry about the most is the 'drowning' part.

Add [NOBREATHE] to the creature to rectify that.

Heh, I'm of the opinion the wish spell was put in as a cruel joke. Unless you have a heavily snacked char or a very long running char, you aren't going to cast it successfully and will just suicide yourself from overcasting. Though I suppose if you get the wish before you die, eh might work with 5% minimum cast success. Just cast inside your house, so you don't have to go far to pick your stuff back up.

http://elona.wikia.com/wiki/Spells#Wish

The wish spell is indeed a cruel joke. It gets progressively harder to cast in 1.17 and above. Each time you attempt to cast the spell, the spell rates get smaller and smaller.

tl;dr: YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CAST THAT SPELL IN A NORMAL GAME PERIOD.

Tyranids are also a cool idea, now that you mention it. But I think there was a warhammer mod somewhere floating around...

I managed to learn the wish spell from a dream. Casting wish with only 28 MP WILL instant kill you.

But I think you get the wish first.

So which is it? Something your cold hands can get ahold of, or no items but you get to keep your life?*

*not keeping the learning rates and spell chance into mind, so it will be harder and by the time you get that much skill, you probably have enough mp to cast.

inb4xenomorphfromaliens

Okay, time to get serious. I want a xenomorph from aliens. That means there will be no tech for them, and they will probably work in the next version or so (delayed transformation + slight bleeding).

Alternatively, you can create organitech aliens and give them -xxx meat alien rifle- where xxx is the creature's base material.

8156
Assuming it's high damage and it can fly through walls, that would be a great endgame spell.

Usually, the game's spells become useless when you get the muramasa.

Currently using indev, the thing is kinda harder. There's a bug with casinos printing their text without replacing the current, no material spots, the addition of test world and that south tyris (both of which are empty, btw, also on 1.17), the addition of recipes and testing pots (they are quite useless, well except for puff puff bread).

That's all I can remember yet.

Oh, and if you're a cheatyface, Elosnack is currently intended to be used with 1.16, but is compatible to any version except the lower versions.

And the wish spell is slightly easier to cast in 1.16.

8158
I recommend you put the spell outside the caste. Then add [SELECT_CASTE:MAGE] and [SELECT_ADDITIONAL_CASTE:WITCH] somewhere. Add that breath thing inside the select castes. Then add [SELECT_CASTE:ALL] below the breath attack to ensure your drows are safe.

The problem is probably because you named both spells SPELL_ONE and defined them in each caste.

You might want to check your errorlogs or post them here, so that we can pinpoint the problem.

Ok, the adventurer creature is up.

One important feature i didn't mention before is that it has two natural bladed attacks. It can hack enemies with its arms and stab them with its hands. Unless you find addy equipment with quality levels these are your best bet to kill things with.

But my favorite thing to do with this guy when fighting bandits/soldiers is to wrestle their weapons away and kill them with their own weapon.

No mind blast? D:

No. I need a bit of the colossus' raws and your errorlog to pinpoint the errors like your peasant attacks passing through.
