Forum Games and Roleplaying / Re: Rise of Hyperion(NEED PLAYERS!)
« on: June 11, 2012, 09:40:50 am »
Anyone else here have skype? Most of our players, GMs, and collaborators are on our Skype group. Its more convenient and very good for story development. :) If you've got Skype, add me at MaximaAarkon and I'll put you in the Bay12 Skype group~
Oh, you mean the one that you made?
Hey, you got banned from Skype, you couldn't add people to the group anyway :P

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: sheep, alpaca or llama?
« on: June 11, 2012, 08:59:02 am »
The other possibility is if before you generate a world you can set embark points in advanced world gen (I think to a maximum of 10,000) which would enable you to take a dozen sheep if you wanted, personally I only spend about 500 points 'cos I'm pretty minimalistic and worry more about training epic squads of soldiers and building monuments more than efficient design, sometimes I'll just release semi-megabeasts/FBs in the dining hall as training exercises.

Just updated, not much in terms of writing but things are progressing as you can see, Pan's reached a the level of badassery in which the wildlife's onslaught is no match for her

259
Well no new posts have popped up so I guess I start now!

Not much of a mountain at all thought Pan to herself as the wagon rolled through the snow as she stroked her great swinging ear lobes, a pity.

1st Granite
Well I think I scouted out the best side of the mountain to hole ourselves up in too, I set the miners to carving away at it and had the others carving blocks and harvesting wood, can't go far wrong with a system like that, I mean while suited up and found a decent looking sword

10th Granite
Ah, a great hunt indeed! A few rodent-like monsters made good exercise, chased each of the cowardly foes a mile before I cut them down, seems I'm the fastest runner out of the group and the only one who can catch wild game, guess I know what I'll be doing this merry Spring then

6th Slate

Wow already a full month, progress seems a bit slow on building the fortifications, seems like a definite case of slacking, I'll have to pay more attention to the others though the river's starting to unfreeze, excellent.

This thread makes me insecure. So many bay12ers are secretly handsome or otherwise good-looking.

Bay 12: Home of Attractive Nerds

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that physical beauty and intelligence have a positive correlation, hmm... lets check the Google!

"Studies have been conducted that have demonstrated a positive correlation between physical attractiveness and intelligence. A study conducted by Kanazawa in Britain found that after controlling factors such as race, social class, body type and health, beautiful men have, on average, an IQ score about 13.6 higher than the average looking man. While beautiful women have an IQ score about 11.4 higher than the average looking woman."

So as mine's 36 higher than the average and as I'm assuming the rules of Mathematics are bent to my will (I shall smite down those who object!) I must be as good looking as 2.65 beautiful men! That's the nicest compliment Wikipedia's ever given me <3

Life Advice / Re: Tipping
« on: June 10, 2012, 07:41:06 pm »
I live in England and I follow a general rule of thumb which goes along the lines of if I'm in a better mood when it's time to pay than I was when I walked in the door I'll tip about £5 regardless of how much the meal cost. If I've taken a girl out on a date I'll tip at least half and at least £20 to make myself look more impressive (yes, I'm an asshole).

YAY!
I'm pretty sure there's a catch you know, Ifeno, what aren't you telling us! :P

Yeah, come on - I don't have a car, and I work! You can do it too!
I don't have a car AND there's no public transport going through my village but I still work freelance on about 3-4 different projects at any one time! One moment I'll be building a website, the next packaging spare parts and before I know it I'm selling bath soaps in the middle of a folk festival whilst transvestites try to molest me!

First idea: Make title more relevant.

Second idea: See this as a valuable opportunity to pick up a hobby outside of gaming. Learn to dance or sing or something to impress the ladies (or dudes).

My thoughts exactly, based on the amount of drama in this post I'm surprised your apartment/house hasn't burnt down, the n64 has some pretty epic games I've got to say, also there's dwarf fortress and then you've got other hobbies you could pick up, if you could borrow a relatives camera then photography is a great one, cycling, running and sports are all good too. Even better the fact that you feel the need to entertain yourself constantly implies you have a lot of free time which is the perfect reason to get a job that'd solve your money problem after school (I'm presuming your still in school), you could do another project if that's not to your fancy or is out of reach like writing a book, making an internet game or starting up a small business.

I hope I'll have it up by 10 eastern? >.<)
*thinks* 3am, cool beans, sorry for the constant badgering  ::)

E: Ran out of things to do whilst waiting and feeling a bit tired now, I'll check up on it when I turn on the computer and just reserve a post, then actually get down to it after doing all the jobs I've got lined up :)

Hmm... for how amazing this is getting models and such hasn't been successful, I think I mentioned it earlier but would creating a new topic+changing the program's name be of benefit as I'm pretty sure everyone see's this thread as a stagnant thread for a half finished project rather than just clicking it and being blown away. It'd be a real shame not to get some progress here but just mentioning your looking for help here and there in the OP would work wonders I'm sure :D
