Oh, do you folks know you can get the engi healing thingy playing as a non-Torus ship? It's one of the things where an outpost is under attack. Afterwards you get three options: give some scrap, give a bunch of stuff, and walk away. Giving a bunch gets you the healing aug

I've played about 15h now, but I've only ever gotten this event once. Is my RNG broken, or am I missing something?

I hate enemy ships with tons of scatter laser burst thingies. I mean, if they have two of those (and sometimes they do, along with a bajillion missile launchers that set fire to everything they happen to be within a mile of) that'll get past essentially all of your shields, then still hit 2 or 3 essential systems...

I think the runs that have been the most successful for me have been the ones where I get lucky and get a good weapon right at the beginning. Then I can take out everything all the way to sector 4 or so without taking much damage, which makes me get shields 2 and then tons of engine. Which upgrades all of my crew, and I get an insane amount of evasion.

I never got past surviving a couple of days in Cataclysm...

Also, what is the situation with X@COM? Any ETA on campaign modes? Right now it seems like you have mostly scenarios?

Aw man, I loved Beasts & Bumpkins! When you told two people to get a children they'd say things like:

"Fancy a bit of the ol' rough'n'tumble, ey?"

Can't remember much else than this, but it evokes nice feelings. I think it was a nice town building game as far as I remember!

Not too sure about the several game-modes (FPS, TBS and RTS), especially if some quests need to be done in FPS format. Kind of like how I didn't like the RTS part of Space Rangers 2...

I assumed all of those torpedo volleys were the nuclear weapons they mentioned. They tend to come in volleys, so as long as I find one then I can shoot at the ones that are passing me by without using targeting.

Overall, targeting is super annoying. Especially the mission where you need to shoot the heavy turrets. The "next active turret" and "previous active turret" are actually "choose next random turret", which is horrible for having different ships/wings target different turrets.

I'm fairly convinced it's impossible to save the civilian ships. They'll just keep spamming torpedo volleys until they go down, and there's no way you can shoot down all of them while completing other mission objectives.

Don't feel like doing the heavy missile turret mission again :(

Aw man, I don't wanna spoil anything, but damn.

Let me just say there was way too much comm chatter, so I missed a lot of it (shooting frakkin' cylons by the handfuls does take up most of my capabilities). Long story short, I have to restart the campaign, but it was genuinely one of the most emotional moments of my gaming history ever (along with Portal 1's ending).

So that's a new version coming out tomorrow, huh?

I guess I'll wait until tomorrow until I start playing then ;)

There's enough to unlock :)

I kinda wish opened campaign modding. I totally see this having millions of different ships and an open-ended world :)

Yeah, Engi's real tough. I think the only way to make it is drone recovery arm + tons of drones. And they need to be right drones too... it's tough!

Also, the final version has tons more systems! I find myself going round 'n round 'n round, something I couldn't do before! Cool!

The Demise DRM scheme is.... well, let's just say it's the second time running out of keys has happened...

On the upside, it's a small game. You won't have to wait to much to get it :)

I had that happen to me, and usually restarting the game appears to work. Alternatively, try to verify game cache on Steam and check their forums, as I seem to recall seeing something like that over there :)

Yeah, getting to the last sector on the first run is luck. I've gotten there twice. Once I died against the flagship, the other time it was almost trivial to kill it. Two burst lasers is enough for just about anything! I think I also had the initial artemis missile, which made big kabooms.

I love the Engi, but it's super hard on the 4 shield enemies like someone said. You NEED to find the drone recovery thing and get as many drones as possible. Also, I think getting burst lasers is probably a good idea since it takes down shields, and the drones can do the rest.

I've also found myself timing my shots a lot more carefully lately. I had gotten used to the autofire, which can wreak havoc on the ability of your guns to penetrate the shields.

You guys are making me want to play some more :)

I already have P:T but I'll probaby get BG 2 (to play on a distant, less busy future :P)

I do believe you mean: to never play it :)

Oh come on! I just bought Planescape like a week ago and now it's on sale?

Doesn't that go on sale fairly often? It seems like the old games always get at least 50% discount in any bigger sales event that there is.

I have the hardest time doing achievements. I guess these are ACTUAL achievements, not like

CONGRATULATIONS, YOU'VE MOVED FORWARD BY PRESSING THE W KEY

I got a few games last night :)

I ended up playing a fair bit of Blue Libra. Maybe they tried a little too hard to make it a one-button game, but it's certainly a cute little game :)
