Are we setting up a time for this? Stupid GMT :) I might be able to fly sometime tomorrow, but probably not evening EST.

I joined yesterday, and some really nice folks helped me out with this. Thank you, to whoever that was :) I suggest anyone else can do the same thing. Ask for help :)

Turns out the game is pretty cool :)

Pretty sure someone did answer you on the logistics, Anvilfolk.

So they did - my bad. There might be some room then, though I didn't play PS1 and so don't know what a lot of those things are :) I guess hopefully I'll see you all when this launches.

Nobody answered whether there is a space for logistics. I has a sad now. I wanted to ferry people around and provide support.

*sniffles*

I also wish PS2 would be ultrarealistic, and in WW2. Dangit.

A couple of questions:

- How arcade is the flying?
- Is there a place for logistics?

I usually enjoy playing support roles, and used to love ferrying people around in helicopters in ArmA2. Would there be space for something similar here?

Farcry 1 was a pretty decent shooter. I had quite a bit of fun with it. Couldn't get into Farcry 2 though. It think I feels more linear perhaps?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, so pop growth is directly proportional to food surplus? That's rather interesting. My systems did take a while to get better. But I had such crazily good production systems (two or three) that I really didn't worry with what the others were doing.

Thanks for the clarification! :) I suspected that happened, but hadn't bothered to check. Also, where is this written, so that I may get my hands on more awesome info?

Why so much food? I barely needed to worry about it when I played. Perhaps one planet might get one of those food specialisations until the pop and system-wide improvements were up so they wouldn't all starve, and then it that was that.

Minus one'd for Dungeons of Dredmore if you're used to more hardcore roguelikes. I used to play Nethack, ADOM, Dungeon Crawl, IVAN, etc etc, and Dungeons of Dredmore is just slow, boring and shallow.

Still, I guess that amount of money for a bunch of sprites and the one or two giggles you might get can still be worth it.

Stellar Impact is a DotA-like game or whatever they are called. I play League of Legends with the wife for fun, but I much prefer Stellar Impact. It's a lot more tactical, and you have to think ahead a bunch more. Plus, it's much more customisable, and there's also a lot more of permanent progression, which is nice :)

I'll also vouch for Lunar Flight :) Simple but really cute and nice. Not entirely sure how much longevity it has though.

I really wanted to like GSB, and ended up getting all the DLC, but it always just felt "meh" for me... The others I haven't tried.

The "Super Solvers" was my childhood! I adored those games and played them, and played them, and played them. Plus, they make you learn something in the meantime. I'll vouch for the Treasure Mountain series, as well as Midnight Rescue and Gizmos and Gadgets. Check here.

Go go fun but educational!

I remember SimFarm from the good ol' days! It was a good game too - you'd buy plots of land, get fields, decide what to plant, then have silos, buy tractors and tractor parts to do different jobs, have animals, feed them, and all sorts of awesome business :)

Totally OK, Scriver! Glad you said that though :)

This last post also cleared up what you meant (for me), since I'm mostly uninformed. I hope that's what you mean. And I heard wonders about the CK2 release as well. I will probably end up buying the DLC at bargain price in one of these crazy sales they do :)

Again, I might just be a cheap bastard. The thing is just that every time I considered buying HoI 3 (for instance) and read up about it, the general opinion was that you either got it with the expansions/DLC or it just wasn't worth it. It's a trend I just don't like. If this is the way they break even, then by all means do it. I like Paradox titles and don't want them to disappear. I just figured they were well enough economically enough for now.

scriver, I only got the game recently. I admit to not having followed it's development until now. But even if they are adding content/features at each release, it doesn't seem like they are veering away from the "tons of semi-necessary DLC" strategy. I understand that it's the only way some indies can make it, but isn't Paradox big enough by now that they can support themselves without all this?

But again, these are personal opinions. They're related to how much you value games and your gaming experience.
