My guess is because it's so impressively big and can be cross sectioned at any point to see a slice of forum history. In a sense it's almost a part of the forum culture itself now.

I'm totally good with trying to keep the spirit of the old thread alive, as any "new" threads in my own limited online experience lose something in the process.
Ill see if I can come up with a good new name in a bit. At the moment I'm mostly just happy she's actually eating however.

I will admit I likely took things too far calling him out like that. But I still stand by my opinion and will even repeat it if asked, since there's no point in attempting to retract it.
And for the most part GC kept saying you shouldn't piss on other peoples happy more than telling people to get out. I think the only time she outright said that sort of thing was when people posted really objectionable content, usually relating to wanting to hurt or actually hurting other people.

She hates the absolute shit out of Yoink. She has some other strong dislikes but she mostly kept it under a lid for the sake of keeping a chill environment.
If I had to guess, LSP was banned over the European thread when a discussion went a bit too far. Someone mentioned "If we're posting dubious sources" and LSP posted before that several times in quick succession; I'm guessing LSP responded with a "dubious source" in kind that happened to be really, really racist.
Was that really it? Damn if you're going to ban LSP for a joke you might as well ban 5/10 posters in the various geopolitical threads for being actual racists.

Thus her weird attitude about it. Given she was feeling silly and just made it to partially poke fun at someone. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm pretty sure she doesn't want me hanging out here anymore either, I'd actually volunteer to try and keep one going. But she was also pretty clear on thinking the board didn't need one anyway.
