Ah.

Okay, fresh problem; I've created a whole bunch of the first item on the list, but he doesn't seem to want to go after it. Rock blocks, if you're wondering.

It's rough gems, and I have plenty of them; however, he's still screaming about needing them.
There are other things he needs that I don't have; could these be related?

Be killed instantly.

What would Leeroy do?

Bravely charge into a room full of forgotten beast eggs, and hatch them all, saving his squadmates time and effort with a useless, doomed to fail plan, only to be reviled for his heroism. At least he has socks.

What would Urist do if he came upon a duel between Syrupsprinkles, Morul, Ironbeard, Tholtig and Cacame?

I was just saying we could.

It's an option.

I'll get my coat.

People on another forum interested. At least three more Overlords shall attempt to colonize lands in the name of Armok.

Would it be wrong to organize an operation to conquer other gaming forums in the name of Armok...?

My mind is abuzz with plans.

Dear Armok, how are you going to explain the mermaids?

I got friends to start playing just by telling them about that.

Hammerdwarf just had an epic duel with a forgotten beast; the deadly dust kind. Ultimately, the hammerdwarf didn't get the kill, because a swordsdwarf ran up and stabbed the thing in the face just after the hammerdwarf had disable the thing... but he's still getting an awesome bed.

I have struck candy for the first time! Praise the miners!

...

And  I don't have anyone with a strand extraction skill.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
all strand extraction skill does is make it faster to extract, so np.

Yeah, but at this rate, it's going to take a year before I can kit out one squad in candy.

Raws plz.

I'm sorry, that sounded too much like a request.  Rather, it is a demand.  Mayor McGirlinhat demands raws in her thread.

Casp McMayor;

Mandates: forge tripod raws: 0/1

Yeah, salt/steam/water/fire etc creatures don't hold together too well in DF2010. Apparently that's a result of fixing their previous invincibility as blobs.

In the way of impressive combat:
During some testing in the arena, with hammerdwarves versus my modded tripods, a dwarf entered a trance, charged while blocking/dodging several shots of the heat ray, ran through a cloud of the Black Smoke (which he somehow managed not to inhale), and whacked the tripod's body clean off its legs in one shot. Unfortunately he was immediately boiled into a puddle of !!dwarf!! by its companions, while his fellow soldiers stumbled around vomiting up their own lungs as a result of inhaling neurotoxin.

...I feel tripod sieges will be great fun.

Tell me how you did this.

Now.

An ambush of goblin archers arrives of of a sudden. The only dwarf outside is a hunter with a bronze crossbow and no armor. Cue shootout.

He fires six shots, give or take. He kills two and wounds three more. The rest of the ambush fire at him, with no success. When he fires again and kills one of the wounded ones, they decide to run away. I made him the captain of my crossbow squad.

Later, I had a forgotten beast. Winged snail, poison gas, the works. Having heard stories about the poison gas, I tried to get everyone away from it, but it was too fast and ended up past my defenses. I try to rally my troops there, knowing that they will probably all be killed by the gas. The first one to arrive is the same marksdwarf (who is now the mayor). He kills the thing with a single shot to the face.

Better hope he doesn't tantrum or he'll tear the fortress down around your ears.

That's the point we were trying to make dude :P Candy is useless for blunt weapons.

It's about as dense as Styrofoam. Let that sink in.
