All in all, I like the shape of it.
The actual beetles themselves usually have darker colors like Black, Midnight Blue, Dark green and that, although I can understand, givin the dark backgrounds.

I'll have to draw some Concept art...

I know how you feel.
Arena testing has revealed that these things (In groups) are lethal.
3 GCB's versus 1 GCS (Player Controlled) and the Beetles could fire off enough rocks to eventually get a luck shot in.
Despite being webbed.

i'm pretty sure you can't change emission tiles.

Also, don't armored cannon beetles spit the rocks anyway? The top thing is for sucking in air...
These creatures are BASED on Armored Cannon Beetles. But they aren't actually Armored Cannon Beetles.
The way I imagine it, these creatures eat a stone, move it into a gut behind the cannon, and then ignite a sort of "organic gunpowder", firing it out.

How do I change the Tile for the emmision, if I can?
Right now it's a ≈, and I'd rather the •.

Maybe try making the emission SOLID instead of SOLID_GLOB?  I'm not sure if that will work, try it.
This caused them to loose the ability to fire.
If I were to guess, I'd say it's a tag similar to the one put in to change the verb...

Again, success!
Now I just need to install the actual cannon part, which might take a bit.
As for the charge, I might lower it a bit, although firing so many rocks in succession might be OP...
