A mummy is not a zombie. Decapitation or bisection work 100% of the time, and are the only way to kill one.If you have any sort of slicing weapon, even the large copper dagger i'd start trying to decapitate it with it, i have yet to see a (one headed) creature that can survive being decapitated.
Then you've never encountered a zombie before.
Okay, so I had to leave the house while still combating this mummy, so I saved it and closed everything down. When I came back, the mummy is no longer there.
...if you manage to reach a cavern area immediately underneath a town you will be able to fast-travel to the surface.
Magma pumps, but as you can't get those on embark I think slashing and blunt are better than stabbing
reanimate the hand when throwing it.
Create a bridge (raising, not retracting) of at least two tiles lengthwise.
Raise the bridge and create a dump zone under it.
Dump objects to be smashed.
Lower drawbridge, smashing objects out of existence.
Close, but DF is even worse: designed, built, and marketed by a mathematician
So basically, Legend of Zelda style RPG rules where it's totally cool to trash their pottery for a stray rupee.
Yep, Kobolds were a new (if not weak) enemy to me.
I'm sort of a new player to this game. Just yesterday, I found a cavern (that wasn't flooded) on Fortress Mode. The day before that though, I found a cavern that was full of water on Adventure Mode. My Adventurer had no trouble swimming at all (he ain't a novice), but for some reason, he eventually started to drown! He was at the top of the water, and there wern't any walls or blocks above him. I checked with l just to be sure. Though the moment before that, I had him swim underwater to a tile that had a block above. When I moved him back though, he just kept drowning. It looked like some sort of glitch...
It kind of pissed me off a bit, since that cavern happened to be my first one.
