So i posted on the Bungie forums, those were the first forums i ever visited...and like every fps based forum...things went wrong, hehehe.

The community on the Bungie forums is one of the worst I have known. Sometimes I go there to read threads for fun just because of how everyone acts.

Think of it this way.

In Real Life:
People pre-judge you based on your physical age.

On the Internet:
People pre-judge you based on your mental age.

I personally think the internet way is far more fair and realistic.

While I agree with that logic, Grakelin, this has gotten too off topic. We should not argue about whether or not the OP deserves sympathy. That is up to each individual poster to decide. If you look at the first few pages, I do not believe anyone specifically said "I'm sorry" or something along those lines. While the OP may have wanted sympathy, the Life Advice thread is (again) for advice and that's all people did in this thread whether they were sympathetic or not. While, as you said before, there are professionals and people far more qualified than us when it comes to giving advice, I do not think it is bad advice to suggest to someone to see a therapist or councilor or anything along those lines if the situation suggests it is necessary.

The response to "What evidence do you have of this" is not "Because I personally think so".

There can be no evidence for an opinion other than 'because I personally think so'. Even that is only evidence that the opinion is true (the person has said opinion).

I'm done in this thread.

I think most of us here were raised to believe that if you are willing to brutalize your close friends and family, you shouldn't have any. This guy isn't going to get any sympathy from me for crying about how he beat up his mom, nor should he get any from anyone else.

This guy did not ask for sympathy. This being the Life Advice forum people take it upon ourselves to (surprise!) provide advice, and that is all they did.

It does not matter what the guy did. The reality here is that several people provided advice on how to improve the situation for all parties involved, while you made no attempts to do so at all. It is also extremely ignorant of you to think that everybody has the same beliefs as you and to assume that you would know what somebody would or would not do.

If you aren't here to help, the Life Advice forum is not the place for you to be.

At what points in the past have people forgiven you for brutally beating and threatening to murder them?

People do not forgive based on the severity of the action- they forgive based on the reasons that action happened.

Find some groups online. For example, there might be a website for a hiking group or book club in your area. Stuff like that.

Meh. Change is inevitable. Whether it's in 50 years or 500 we're going to run out of resources eventually and probably experience a huge population decline during which I imagine there will be massive riots because of all the chaos, maybe wars over the remaining resources, etc. That will probably be followed by a dark age where the remaining people won't have the means to produce modern products and goods. Either way it's obvious that our current growth is unsustainable.

Erm, it's called the 's' key. It opens up a list of your squads and there you can order troops to move to a location or kill a creature.

When I read the first post I was going to help. I read your replies and I've decided you're just trolling, or you're just an incredibly annoying and abrasive person and you don't actually want help, your purpose here is to complain bitterly about something that you dislike.

I was considering instructing him on how to use the 'alerts' system, but I agree with you and decided not to.

Edit: There's a big difference between wanting the old system back because it was better and wanting the old system back because you're too lazy to figure out how to use the new one.

It seems to me that there is always a problem on the internet about culture. General people assume that people on the internet are from the same country/culture as they are, and so people will call out on somebody else because they have awful grammar, but maybe that person lives on the other side of the world and knows only basic English. I've been learning Spanish for 3 years, but I bet if I went on a Spanish-speaking forum and tried to post stuff my spelling and grammar would be terrible.

My forts usually never last longer than 6 or 7 years due to lag. 5 years isn't bad at all.

I always assume I won't be able to fight off goblins, build my defenses, and worry about the military later. Build some walls around your depot area and put some doors on your entrance. Drawbridges are always helpful, too.

If goblins are a problem, set up some cage traps outside your entrance if you don't have any already. I use a custom tileset, but it looks like you don't have any walls smoothed, do that as well. Other than that, if you have a stable fort go ahead and build an arena or something fun.

Life Advice / Re: Transferring music from iPod to iTunes library
« on: August 27, 2011, 07:10:12 pm »
My solution has a couple problems, but it will work.

I'm going to assume you are running Windows 7. This might also work for Vista, but I'm not sure.

First, go to the start menu and click Computer on the right-hand side. Click on 'Organize' towards the top-left corner of the window. Then select Folder and Search Options. In that window, click on the View tab and enable "Show hidden files, folders, and drives".

Next, find the main directory for your iPod when it's plugged into your computer.

You should see a Music folder or something similar in your iPod's directory. This has all the music that's on your iPod. I like to copy and paste the folder somewhere on the computer's hard drive, but I'm not sure if you have to. You should just in case.

The problem is that even though the music contains all the album and artist data etc, they are in a jumbled mess of folders, the sound files themselves probably even have random names like ai85je even if it's actually "We Are the Champions". So in the Music folder in your iPod's directory, there might be 12 different folders titled "FE1" "FE2" "FE3" etc and within each of those are a mixed up group of songs.

Now, open iTunes->file->Import folder and select the folders with the iPod music. This will import them to iTunes.

The only way I know of to find a certain song is to import all of them onto iTunes and delete all the copies. It's a pain, but it's a way to get music onto libraries without syncing the iPod.

If anyone has a more convenient method, please post. I'm not good at explaining this method either, it's really simple but when I type it out it looks confusing to me.

Summary:
Find your iPod directory, enable "show hidden files and folders", import folders onto iTunes.

Bone bolts deal better damage and wood can be used for charcoal or whatever instead of bolts. Use bone bolts for training.
