Can we also get the waitlist with name and dwarf gender/job requests listed?
There's a growing list. :P

Dear Sign Painter Overseer

Aye, I've no clue where the barrel o' food is, but it's got the tastiest food ye'll ever have, I jes know it!
I'll find it yet, or starve and die!

Urist McGourmet

PS: Have ye tried the stockpile lists? Ye should be able to find it from there.

Dear Urist Mcmurderednoble's Friend

Yes, it was a terrible tragedy that cut us all deeply. There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth and pulling of beards.
However, gnashing your teeth on another dorf, and pulling their beard, is abit much, don't you think? Please for the love of all that shines in the deep places, calm down, remove your tooth from Urist Mcmineronbreak's arm, and stop trying to put his beard in a headlock.
Besides, we had none of what was mandated, and I wasn't having you or one of the other hard workers who actually do shit maimed and/or killed just to satisfy a noble throwing a hissy fit. If you don't stop throwing your tantrums around, I will be throwing you. Into the pit. Right next to Urist Mcmurderednoble. And the three dead goblins, a somehow not-yet-dead elf trader, and the decaying corpses of a great many FB Syndrom victims.

-The Overseer about to go into melancholy

PS: We've got piles of memorial slabs, still. Don't think we don't.

Seems to be that way. Who's next on the list?

Hmm.. This seems incredibly interesting. In for the waitlist, and will post character sheet here in a moment.

Also: you most likely project a small area, just large enough to affect your clothes while "teleporting."

Why you were picked for this mission: Due to .:fortunate:. circumstances, Johann has been able to use his abilities as a seer to gain several favors, a few of which he called in to be placed on the mission. I did not know that pumps leave contaminants behind, or that such things float mysteriously.
... This fact begs to be abused and/or weaponised. Somehow. But I clearly lack the info to do the !!Science!! correctly.
Anyway: Seems like the best bet is to have the vomit channeled to the target area after being stored in a cistern. Not sure how you'd go about recycling, and you'd need alot of water to generate enough pressure.

So 2/7 pool with a water source to keep the flow (hope you've got an aquifer!), a channel with floor tile draining that into a large cistern and that with a floodgate that allows it to be channeled into a specific area. And then from there into either: the place you set up as the recycling area, or the heart of the magma sea. Because this is dwarf fortress, and if you don't involve magma somehow, you're doing it wrong.

Suggestion: 1/7 wading area  with a drainage hatch leading into the vomit-resevoir. Use pumps to push the vomit water around, and add a drainage hatch in the target area to allow re-use of vomit-water.

This way, your dwarfs vomit directly into the water to be drained, allowing easier resource control. Of course, This assumes you have a way to get the wading pool set up in a reliable, vomit inducing location. Do remember to regularly change and add water, as some of it will evaporate, and if you have too much vomit and not enough water, it's just thinner vomit.

The power of Christ compels you to stop lactating at me!
If only that worked. ... Actually, what the hell am I saying?

I feel like they didn't use enough !!Fun!!
Plenty of time for magma in the "Return of the Loose Boob", though.

... Is it live or is it dead?
Must we cast stones into the abyss to discover the tale?

A very short and specific list of rocks and metals also have a melting point high enough to be magma immune, and stuff crafted from these aren't destroyed.
They're mostly reallllly rare, though.

But then I have no outside. I like to keep as many of my dwarfs as I can from becoming cave adapted, having an outside area to pen my animals, and that way, I have somewhere I can grow outdoor plants.

I've yet to find magma convenient enough to make it worth building pump stacks to the outside for defensive purposes early on. Usually I just bunker down behind walls. Lots of walls.

I'm going to throw my vote in with the others. Divine Buster. Sounds fun.

Dear Urist Mcstonehauleruselessmigrant
Yes. Your lot in life is a harsh, boring one, full of the mindless drudgery of hauling stone from the mines.
No, this does not mean you get to take extra breaks, or go outside.
On second thought, since you decided to go outside in the middle of a siege, right before the drawbridge closed, make sure to enjoy every last moment, as I'm reasonably certain your last moment will be along shortly.
Sincerely, your incredibly frustrated and amused overseer

The only proper solution to a solid overdose of !Fun! is to add a second, separate type of !Fun!, in an equally large dose, to the problem!
Got goblins? Add magma! Got magma? Add flood. Got flooding? Add HFS. Got HFS? Add a tantrum spiral. Got a tantrum spiral? Add goblins!

then what is the solution for a magma-flood leaded by goblins riding HFS, while you are in the middle of the tantrum spiral?

The solution to all that !!Fun!!? Sit back and enjoy the end-times with some plump helmet wine.
