THE WINTER MEN COME DOWN THE VALLEY AND KILL KILL KILL.
I kind of want to quote this based on the wonders of winter and wtf, if you didn't mind.

Also, that is a lot of people without power. =( Through some magical act of stupidity, I managed to not realize how extreme this storm was going to be. At least it's not mid-December or anything...

Edit: oh crap it went up 0.9 million while I was typing

And I know you won't have enough time to on your next turn alone. :P

Actually, I would.  At worst I'd have all the unfinished digging designations in place to let the dwarves continue following my designs while the next guy does his thing.

And naturally, the next overseer would see a large vertical shaft being dug and repurpose it into a convenient central staircase connecting the entire fortress.

And, the staircase itself would go directly through the most heavily-traveled areas of the fort.
Meanwhile...
TAD watches as the fortress is overtaken by chaos.
"All according to plan..."

You could maybe put it as: "HtBCoH (BATTLEFAILED 4) - The Really Long and Likely Cool and Humourous Phrase Which You Wish to Insert," or maybe change the acronym a bit so the name isn't totally lost.

Horrorfailed tBCoH?
H the BC of H?
Horrorfailed the BC of H?
Horrorbattlehell?

Meanwhile in New Brunswick, Canada, it's looking like we'll have unnaturally mild weather and a lot of rain. I want some snow too. =(

Augh, I can never get anyone dump corpses in my forts. As in they'll just never do it, even if there's nothing else to do. Is there any surefire way to get dwarves moving corpses?

Good to see an update, anyways. Can't wait to hear about the undead dwarves taking over the fort. =)

This seems interesting. Have you tried it out yet? And I'm curious about migrants and caravans; does it being ocean all the way around stop them from showing up?

I'd try it myself right now, if it weren't for having dial up internet.

and here we are; about three-fourths of a year (in game) later, and I've caught up. And all it took was the discontinuance of productivity and sleep! Who knew? Nice to see that I got here before my dwarf though.

Along those lines, only after requesting dorfenage did I realize the irony in asking for a soap maker, what with the circumstances. Expect demands for the production of soap very soon...

Edit: UNABLE TO PAVE OUR ENTRANCE WITH THE BONES OF OUR VICTIMS, WE MUST INSTEAD BUILD IT FROM THE SOAP OF OUR CATS!

143
And thus, I've finished Hellcannon. Great stuff, that was.

I have little idea of what's going on with this fort, beyond the fact that it's apparently covered with vomit and supposedly doing swell, but I think I'll request a dorfing now and see if I'm still alive by the time I catch up. Noting that my preacher of soap never made it in last time (partially my fault for disappearing)...

Kirby - soap maker/speardwarf - Warrior of the Soap (Soap Warrior if that's too long)

If there's no soap maker/speardwarf skilled dwarf lying around, take any random old soap maker and train them in spears.

Soon, all shall know the wrath of the Soapy Ones...

Now, it's high time I got some sleep.

and then the two of you can begin repeatedly pulling the levers in a battle of...err, something honourable. Either way, it's potentially dangerous, and would waste everyone's time, so that's a bonus.

New idea: I propose that every dwarf's bedroom come equipped with a lever controlling the front gate/door. In some way or another, I guarantee that this will save the fort years from now.

145
I, um, so...wow. I think I missed a bit. As in half of Hellcannon and all of this.

I'll be back in about a year.

146
Awesome luck with the fey weaponsmith. Can't hurt to have masterwork weapons lying around the fort.

Good to hear about the hunting situation too. It's been too long since I've actually played the game, so I've forgotten quite a bit... Also, I'd like to request an archery range be built for me to train and that I be placed in a squad. If I don't die due to some unfortunate accident(s), I might as well put my skills to use in case of any serious threat.

147
Lovely fort you have going on here, even the wilddead are nice! I might see about getting dorfed...I'd like to be a hunter, but that would be suicide at best (if a hunter 'kills' undead animals, will they bring back the remains?). Maybe a dwarf with some hunting skill, but turned off for now...yes, that would be an idea. Call him/her Kirby.

Also, there appears to be an issue with the images for updates on page...huh. I just checked and I guess they're normal now. Never mind then.

I never thought I'd see this day. The day I caught up with Homestuck updates. I don't really know if I should be happy or sad. I mean, on one side, I get to finally see people's theories and general nonsense about it without constant fear of spoilers, but on the other, I'm used to getting more Homestuck when I want it, or maybe after a few hours, but not after a few weeks.

In any case, I'd love to know more about Cal and why Caliborn dislikes it so much (and I just relalized we didn't exactly get to see much of his side of the room, let alone his Juju). Also pardon me if this stuff's already been brought up before here. I just poked through the last six or so pages of this thread and that is pretty much all the info I've ever gotten related to Homestuck theories ever, so I'm probably a bit of a noob in this regard.

Sort of new with this game (and really genre), and I have say I love it. Judging from how far I've gotten (and died) and how far people have gone to win, I still have a ways to go.

And now for a question; since I've read through some pages here, I've noticed a lot about different branches. Are these found via simply going through different stairs or is their a special way of finding them?

You people make me feel so young.

I can't believe I've only been around for about a year though...I think I lurked before that, maybe. I know I tried the game years before, but c'mon, less than one year as a forum goer? Everything that's happened just doesn't seem possible in one year. I can only imagine five years of this madness.

Thanks for the history lesson, anyways, PTTG. In some strange way, these sorts of threads make me feel more connected to the forums.
