((yes i do read them, but am an idiot))

Expand the farm. Someone else will have to harvest. Continue researching shield.

Alright, here is another tip. You should specify what resources you are using when upgrading the farm. Since you are not using labor anywhere else I assume you want to do more than just pay the required 2 love berries to get to size 3. If you want to do as much work as possible you should say something like...

*Tip*
The GM will never assume you want to use resources to expand a building unless you specifically state that is what you want to do. Since the labor part of the farmland has already been paid many turns ago, all you need to do to increase it to size 3 is state that you are using 2 love berries to increase its size. I am shocked that you didn't do this already despite the tip from last turn. Does ANYONE read these tips? Don't get me wrong, I DO like yelling at you for failing to read, but even I get annoyed when I have to repeat myself several turns in a row. Hey, lets try something. If you actually read these tips, mention that in your next post. I'm curious now.

If you want to make an item, you should specify what materials you are going to use to make the item, and in the case of Basic Tools, you need to specify the exact item name you want to use to make the tool with.

Turn 12
All non love berry food and one love berry have been consumed.

Asker of Questions successfully retreats to area F7 and finishes the Paddy Field. It requires 2 plants and 2 labor to increase to size 1. Asker then attempts to forage the tile. He finds... Bloody thorns. And takes 1 damage from said bloody thorns.

Easter Sunday works on the Pit Trap. The pit is now size 2, and 3 additional labor is needed to get it to size 3. Research on the Shovel is complete! This tool would have been nice to have several turns ago.

Imic wields the Farming tool and uses it to harvest the Love Berry farm. This yields... 2 love berries. As it turns out, a lack of efficient tools was not the problem you had. The problem was that the farm is only large enough to accommodate 2 labor worth of harvesting per turn. Maybe you should consider using love berries to increase the size of the farm!

The insect swarm is still lurking around the farm, and Imic takes 1 damage!

Finsternis Geist moves to E7 and uses one of the Unnamed Yellow Plants to create a fertilizer, and forages for love berries. She does not find any this time, but she does fine 2 unnamed green berries.

Beatrix Purnima goes to harvest the farm, only to notice that someone else already harvested it! This wasteful activity could have been avoided had she prepared a backup plan or better co-ordinated with her team members.

Small creatures have been sighted at area F7, though they retreated at the mere sight of you.

Create a Berry Harvesting Tool and then harvest the farm with it.  The bugs are a concern for another turn. Continue research on the shield.

Please take a moment to specify the material you want to use to create the tool, and the exact name of the item you wish for the tool to be for. I decided that the update can wait until you do this.

Oliver was stunned at what Kiet of the Naga had proposed, and more stunned that some of the other races didn't have a problem with it. Oliver let his feelings be known. "This idea is outrageous! If the gods had intended for you to take land from their Second Sanctum, then they would not have brought the wilder races to live there! It has been scarcely a few minutes since you have been saved, how can you already be talking about starting a war?"

"Since coming here I have not seen my family, the state of what is to be our new civilization or anything else for that matter! Should you not wait until you have made ample use of the territory you already own before putting your own people at risk to take more?"

"You would do well to remember that the gods have graciously decided to give us another chance. And it is not too late for them to change their minds! Now if there is nothing else you need to say, I have a civilization in need of my guidance."

Maxine answers Alphonse's question by issuing orders to her squad. "Soldiers! Grab your weapons, find a fortification by the walls and open fire on any at any hostile personnel. Snipers, get to high ground and await my command to fire on a high priority target."

Maxine then heads towards the fortress wall to find a nice place to snipe from, followed by her Alreona Issac who knew to follow her unless she specifically told him to do something else.

If you want to change your action for the turn, I would prefer it if you delete or edit the original post. Otherwise I might get confused.

"I am Oliver Del Serpenset, of the Blinker tribe. I thank you for deeming us worthy of salvation. I shall see to it that you do not come to regret this decision."

"Do you have records detailing the people and other things you have salvaged? Or is taking inventory to be a mortal responsibility as well? If I am to rule over them then I will need every bit of information that I can get"

You have a labor stat of three. Sometimes you guys just do one action that has a set labor cost and do not mention any sort of alternative use for the remaining labor; causing it to be wasted. This is especially noticeable when you build an item that only has a labor cost of 1. Actions such as foraging and scouting do not have a set labor cost, and will happily consume all your labor. (I should specify things with a set labor cost will not be impaired by multi-action. While foraging does have reduced effects with multi-action, its still a better use of labor than doing nothing with it. Unless you really can't afford to lose any more health or something, because its not a 0 risk activity)

Tip: If another player does something and it works, keep in mind what it is that they did.

Edit: I'll also point out that the gathering tool actually CAN work for farming, provided that the farm contains the exact material specified by the gathering tool. The farming tool is a better tool for the purposes of collecting from a farm though, and you guys did actually make one. Of course, only 2 labor can actually be spent on the size 2 farm per turn.

Move to the Yggdrasil in F6, forage for a mushroom and collect two branches. Make a hoe. Move to F7, put the two required labours to make it a (+) paddy. Use the remaining action to forage, ignoring rationing if what he finds is a berry. Keep researching the carpentry tool.

This is one of the best actions I ever saw you guys make. You clarified the tile you want to work on, factored in your unique character skills, allocated all 3 labor and used a conditional statement to determine if you need to eat this turn, or save the food for farming purposes.

*Tip*
Using nothing but the results of technology that you already researched, it is possible for a single person to get 5 food in a single turn. If you think about how this can be achieved and work together, you can make this a reality.

Be as specific as possible when describing your actions, otherwise you risk them being misinterpreted.

Remember that if you want to use items to expand a building you NEED TO SPECIFY THAT, even though adding items to a building is a free action. I suspect that someone intended to do that this turn; I am not processing that particular behavior this turn so that you will not forget to do this in subsequent turns.

Remember to specify food if you need to eat; rationed items will not be consumed unless you specify otherwise. You don't want the cause of your death to be starvation when you actually have food.

Turn 11
All food is eaten except for the Love Berries. Finsternies Geist and Imic take 2 starvation damage.

Easter Sunday begins work on a Pitfall trap at E7. 6 more labor will be required to get it to size 3.

Asker of Questions forages and scouts in E8. Asker forages 1 blue herb, and is able to locate a Predator Nest in this area! Area E8 is now marked as familiar on the map, and no longer produces penalties for actions in it. However, this does nothing to avert the fact that it has a predator nest. In this area there are several unknown limbless creatures with large teeth. One of them Bites Asker to deal 1 damage.

Imic continues to work on the Paddy Field.

Beatrix Purnima harvests the farmland at E7 to collect 1 Love berry and 1 Giant love berry. A swarm of insects appear at the farmland in F7, and Beatrix takes 1 damage from insect stings while harvesting. Research begins on Shields.

Finsternis Geist gathers love berries using the gathering tool. 2 Love berries and 1 unnamed Green berry are collected. Research STOPS on Advanced Farming and begins on Better Tools. It appears that this technology is also missing some prerequisites.

The spy bug example would probably work actually. An insect wouldn't be suspicious in and of itself; especially if there are a lot of insects in an area.

When I designed my character, I based it around utility and versatility as opposed to raw combat strength. I figured it was balanced by low health and fairly weak attacks. I figured the main weakness to Sight beyond Sight was its maximum range, which would make things like Archers exceptionally dangerous.

What were you expecting?

If you'll take a look at post 36 and 56 in the IC thread, I figured that all the GM updates would be of similar quality to that. You should have been able to FEEL me cringe when the GM complained that Sight beyond Sight would cause him triple the work he had to do, when I was looking at like 20 word posts from him.

I'll stop complaining now.

I'm sorry, but I've really lost all interest in this game. I think I just had unrealistically high expectations for it because I liked the design of the sign up sheet. Could someone maybe send me a PM when we get to an actual fight or puzzle?

Oh, Also, This is the Aperture Laboratories, just putting that out there.

If this was Aperture Laboratories, Pisci should have picked up on a LOT more electricity. The elevator itself does not use electricity (unless the GM dropped the ball on that) and instead appears to use either magic or a pulley system or something.
