"yes Mortar, something is wrong. Right now I'm waiting for the insane holy stallion to go pick up his holy scrolls and then I haft to help him carry the things a quarter mile to his church. But the thing that really pisses me off is the fact that that damned alicorn comes into the same damned building I'm in and starts talking to me. When she called me rude I about lost it."

Get every single Elf in your civ onto your map, then kill them all.

ONLY THEN WILL YOU BE REDEEMED.

You're overreacting, because except for the lack of an anvil these elves are more dwarfy then most of my dwarf forts.  Except they won't cut trees down (but it's a desert anyways).   Other than that...   These elves > dwarves.

Mod in a workshop or reaction that creates an anvil.  I have no idea if it will work.

Modding in a reaction requires you to regenerate the world. However, modifying an existing reaction in your fort's save file does not.

Sigh ok.  I don't touch reactions usually, so this demands experimentation.

your the monster. your just as bad as a noble.

Jaxler was trying his best to hold back his desire to pick a fight. He didn't care that stiletto was a mare or that she was bigger, had more combat training, was more competent in combat, could use magic, and that she had three ponies as backup. The only thing that was keeping him from flinging his hoof through the air and into her face was that his rank would be in jeopardy. so he said as calmly as he could "ya... I'm... gonna... go outside".

Grapple left Jaxler in the same space as an alicorn. Jaxler could snap at any moment now. Jaxler had a disdain for the entire alicorn race, they were prideful, self righteous, and among other things saw themselves above the other ponies. They even go so far as to call there language "high pony", which was further proof of there ignorant pride. This time Jaxler was sober, he could hold back his desire to pick a fight with a bigger, stronger, and magical foe. So he decided to avoid eye contact and survey the merchant's goods and he said inaudibly to himself "damned alicorns"

"O, you know just a saying... about work and... stuff... getting stuff done... it's good... saying, stuff."

Switch topic! SWITCH TOPIC!!

"so... Jaxler is it? Very unique name. Never heard of a Jaxler before."

Jaxler thought for a moment.
"well, I know it's a strange name. It's probably the strangest name in the entire fort, but when you need to create a new name for yourself you might as well go for one that's unique."

Jaxler started to think that this might not be as bad as he previously thought. the pony hadn't even mentioned his "gods" yet. he followed Grapple out the door.

"no time like the present? what makes you say that?"

Jaxler didn't want to help in with the church but he still had a job to do.
"scrolls... sure i'll help" he picked up his crossbow "I really don't like the way that earth pony looks. I saw that pony eviscerate a diamond dog with a whip, and it looked like he enjoyed it so... we might want some protection." Jaxler put a bolt into the crossbow "ya fine if I keep this thing loaded?

Jaxler was trying to spend an afternoon in peace. he finally got a barrel of booze and was sitting in his favorite seat and was ready to enjoy himself but right as he started to drink he heard a voice.

"Hello good friend! Pardon my interruption, but I was wondering if you could help me with a small problem."

Jaxler knew that voice. it was the same voice that had almost made him lose his sanity during glazes strange mood. It was Grapple's voice. Jaxler saw Grapple's religion as both insane and as a cancer of ignorance. he wanted to just get up and make Grapple the second pony he flung across the meeting hall, but Jaxler needed to be professional. regardless of if he was on or off duty he had to help ponies when they asked. so Jaxler replied calmly with "what do ya need help with".

We'll I got to share a drink with Granite. The foal seems to a few problems with his self esteem. I tried to help but I'm not sure if I really left an impression. I'm not even sure if he'll remember that we even talked.

12th Obsidian, 255
Well, I’m writing from atop the walls right now. It’s currently midnight and it’s raining. Some Caravan come to town today and one of the merchants told Virtue thieves were out there. so here I am getting drenched in the rain.

17th Obsidian, 255
Today was interesting. Turns out there were thieves out there. When will these guys learn that regardless of how stealthy they think they are they're going to get killed the moment they come here. I was doing a little target practice on one of the things when partisan decided to just charge in and bash the things head in with his crossbow. Then Halberd, Fuscina, Glaive and Falcata came along and gang banged the would-be thief into the ground.
Anyway after that I decided to go over to the Depot and spend about 200 bits on booze.  I made sure to get the strongest stuff they had. I also bought some crossbow bolts for personal defense. They’ve let me walk around with my crossbow when I’m off duty but they haven’t actually allowed me to have any bolts. so this should help.

25th Granite, 256
loom and redwood got married yesterday. I went over to the celebration and from what I can remember they made the mistake of serving free booze. I made sure I wasn’t the first pony to start drinking, heavily. After that my memory gets a bit fuzzy. All I know is that I woke up a few yards from the unfinished church. I’m pretty lucky that Grapple didn’t find me, if I had to talk to him with a headache and the sun burning my eyes, I would probably do something I’d regret.

1st Felsite, 256
I was just told that I get my own house! I finally don’t haft to use the public housing anymore. This is good news but this news has two down sides. one being that I’m gonna haft to move my stuff to my new home for the next couple days and the second being that Grapple’s church will start to get built faster. Regardless I should probably celebrate tonight, so I’m probably gonna go Drink one of those barrels of booze I bought a few moths back.

Dear Urist McVampire:

I found you, and I locked you in a room to die. Not only have you managed to engrave the entire room, I have also noticed that you never get hungry, thirsty, or sleepy. Congratulations! You're the new broker!

That is far more awesome than any method of weaponising vampires! Using them as a broker who actually shows up to trade! :D

so, what happens when he kills your 3 legendary workers and your legendary ax lord...
oh, no, you dump the occasional immigrant child into his room to feed him, then once traders turn up, put him in the trade depot opposite his room, (making sure all of the goods have arrived before him) then trade ASAP, once traded, burrow him into his room, then simply rinse and repeat.

that's cruel. armok bless your soul
