- Entry 1, Book 2 -
I swapped clothes with one of the poor saps that fell to the goblins and it seemed to work - they all think I'm dead.  I altered my hair and slipped out of the fortress only to run into three dwarves coming towards the fort (something about "fleeing the ruins of Led's empire").  Knowing they'd probably mention me, i made a deal with one of them - let me pose as one of them and the other can get the hell out of this crazy hellhole (I swear, Catalyst is psychic about who and where we are, or something...).  The husband agreed and legged it faster than i've ever seen a sane dwarf move.  On the plus side; I've gained an attractive wife (though her voice seems oddly deep and i swear i saw stubble. Odd...) and no-one's the wiser as to who i am.  Catalyst keeps calling me "Other" though, for some reason i cant fathom....

Oh, in regards to toxic FB !!Fun!!, would "deadly blood" do the trick?  Load the save, go to F7 and take a look at the small water-filled square slightly northwest of the pumpstack.

That's a genius bit of pumpstackery.  I'm uploading the save now, but the file depot's really slow today for some reason.

It's not a matter of urgency, it's just a matter of !!Fun!!.  My fort's doing well, I'm well defended and rich, so i figure time for a megaproject.  And this massive cistern's doing nothing except periodically filling a well, so might as well do something BIG.


edit - I'm just gonna finish pumping out the cisterns and shut down the pumpstack for FPS's sake, then i'm gonna put the save up for anyone wanting a look-see if they have any ideas.

I have a reservoir that's 34x27x3.  I have easy access to filling it.  What I need now are some designs to make this into a water reactor so powerful that it would make Armok himself sober up on sight.  Resources are plentiful, as are minions well-meaning labourers.  Ideas, anyone?

I'm now going to ask that you lock my dorf in the house. I'm gonna have the longest lived dwarf in this fortress and not even a loyalty cascade's gonna stop me. _{I believe I just jinxed it, too}

I hope you've learned to never tempt Murphy's Law.  Especially in Dwarf Fortress.

Has there ever been a fortress that didn't use magma to solve everything?

Knifemurders has a pumpstack that can dump magma OR water (admittedly, you have to wait for one liquid to dissipate from the stack before using the other) out around the base of Mt. Knifemurders. 

What's the current report on That Aussie Dwarf?  Is he lurking amongst those safe inside your new tower? Also, what does my description currently say?
