I second that, I never reach weight/volume limits, its always the item limits that kill me.

Make yourself into some form other than a giant gas cloud with a goatee. Preferably a void with a different image inside it for whoever looks at it, just because we're a goddamn mad god. Of course, you can change the image as to create followers.

I second this. We need a mesmerizing form with which to gain followers. Our true bearded form of madness should be reserved for only the greatest of worshipers' delight!

Okay, then:

Same idea, but with sea-life hatchlings/eggs. Mutate the unborn to conserve energy/faith and maximize the mutagenic potential of madness. A coastal city will UNDOUBTEDLY consume sea-life and be infected by madness. The effect is strong, but the potential for failure is serious after enough people become sick. Doctors may eventually figure out the cause of the madness and slow its spread, but not before we gain a few much-needed insane followers, and spread a little chaos.

OOC: Inb4 mutated Japanese nuke-fish.

Now then,

Retreat to a safe, nearby location, possibly a forest or mountain overlooking the city, and watch what happens. While waiting in the forest, look for creatures to mutate, possibly giving them the power to mutate by bite/scratch, a relatively safe and detached way of spreading your influence without the risk of being caught. Civilians will simply attribute it to some chemicals or poisons in the water, driving the livestock mad. Personal suggestion: mutate an insect QUEEN/NEST, rather than random insects, into a giant, infectious creature, so that its spawn will also contain your power, saving you valuable belief and allowing your creations to reproduce autonomously.

I'm looking forward to this one. I've been brushing up on my Aurora skills. :) I'll make the EU proud of our roots!

Perhaps set up mines at Jump Points... Personally, I'd love to mine the OTHER SIDE of a JP once they go through, as it would cut off their weapon systems and they'd die before they had a chance to see what's happening. Hell, blame it on precursors. :P

My point exactly! :D

As I said earlier:

I say we take a closer look and find out who's in charge of the port city. Somehow give the cube to him/her as a royal gift, so that their very leader will be driven to madness. With his servitude, we can then turn the entire city, and spread from there.

...Or just throw it in town and watch everyone go insane, bite each other, throw shoes, and get arrested. Guards confiscate it, go crazy, royals/leaders confiscate, go crazy, and then... !!TANTRUM SPIRAL!!

Find out who is the leader of the city, wait until the night and place the cube in their leader's bedroom, somewhere he can see it and examine it.

As I suggested the same on the last page, we now have 2 votes to blow the mind of the city's leader ;D

Shouldn't be too hard. See who has the most material wealth and look for the biggest house/castle/tower, wait to see who comes out and goes in. Shouldn't take too much belief to watch and wait.

I suggest placing it smack-dab in the middle of the city.

Hell, for !!BONUS!! madness points, replace some religious/cultural artifact with the Cube, so that the creatures of this world will fall into madness and give us their souls without even realizing it!

Wait, what? New version? Since when? Faaaaaawk. And I just got a new game started, too...

I just checked the official forums, and there appear to be notable bugs in the new version. Might want to hold off on upgrading.

Woo! Saved by the bugs!

I put so much effort into ship design. >_> Just like how I spend 15 minutes clicking a and b when genning a new char in Liberal Crime Squad until I get the perfect first and last name that sounds just right. :P

I vote to scan one continent first, to conserve belief. The one with the most green, preferably, as desert/wasteland won't usually yield much life... Well, in Humanistic terms.

I totally second the Insanity Box aka Mind-Flayer(tm) idea, it seems like a fun artifact-y way to get worshipers and/or just fuck with everything.

Personally, I would prefer to manifest in the dreams of the sentient beings, so as to gently coerce them into belief/fear/respect/adoration without risking our physical form, or wasting belief on abstract strategies and physical items.

Aye, its what I did! :) I learned a LOT just from lurking on the Lets Play threads.

I'm currently 5 years into my newest Aurora game :) I've got automatic mines and 2 tracking stations on Mars, a missile-equipped (86 missiles) Jump-Cruiser, a geo survey ship, a Jump-Grav Survey ship, an experienced geo survey team, spy team, diplo team, and xeno team, all at 120-160, a freighter transporting buildings around and a colony ship to eventually bring colonists to new worlds. ;)

I'm currently trying to get some research done and get Mars settled before I go through my first Jump Point, right outside of Mars' orbit (9 O' clock, exactly).

I'm getting Mars up to 5 tracking stations, it SHOULD get the JP into my sensor range, though only for biggish ships.

Hopefully I don't get Raeped as soon as I go into the JP... I'll make sure to get some of my weapon ships online before I go adventuring in other people's systems.

Btw, one thing I haven't figured out is how to build PDCs, or as I call them, Weapons Platforms. (I'm an old-school Space Empires IV, Galactic Civilizations, etc. Player, hahaha)

I've got the design all ready, but where do I build it??? Shipyards like a regular ship? I probably just need to upgrade my NSY to get the proper size to build it, then.
