Nah I don't even know how to mess with raws. Now I have not discovered any but the first cavern, and there are no downward passages. It actually zoomed on unexplored tiles. I can't see it or it's child in the unit list or i'd have more info.

I wish I'd had the presence of mind to screenshot it, but "Draltha" just gave birth to a baby boy. Draltha is not a dwarf, and upon zooming to the announcement location, he is underneath the magma sea. Was Hellboy just born?

So i've got my first evil gloom, but all it does is mope about near the map edge, it goes like 15 squares in and fades. do they all do that?

Yea I can ssign labors and whatnot. I made her hammerer so as to be able to easily see mandates. But still, its the "Exalted Fern" thing that has me for a loop.

Yeah no the problem isnt that, they pick up everything else. The MAIN problem is the bridges. This only happens to the things that are sitting on the bridges themselves.

Yeah, if he's needing 9 wood and one gold bar, youll have to wait like....15 seconds at least before he'll let you know about the gold. he will sketch forest, x9, but it wont change on your screen.

So I lost a fort to goblins. I reclaimed the fort, and now the pile of bodies that WERE stopped by traps are ignored by the dwarves. They won't dump the bones or use them for crafts. but the MAIN problem is that the bridges over the lava chasm that protects the fort are now Depot inaccessible. They were completely fine before. I had an adventurer clear out the nastier baddies befor reclaiming, and part of the proccess was raising the bridges to drop some fools down into the lava. When I reclaimed, the birdges were up. Could this be the problem? How to fix?

Only thing I can think of is youve forbidden something, or perhaps locked a door/walled off/dug a channel/raised a bridge somewhere thats blocking the way, or the aforementioned burrow issue.

I've got some marksdwarves whose job it is to patrol the walls behind some fortifications. Only thing thats ever going to get up to them is enemy ranged attacks. What do I armor them in?

The expendable wardogs are to keep it on the bridge, the width of the pit keeps the horrid dust/breath attacks away from the dwarves.
It either gets feathered by bolts, providing great xp for your crossbow corps, or it gets shoved/dodged off an edge and dies. spikes at the bottom are a plus. This setup even works on the clown car.

I use 2 squads of marksdwarves for this.
