We're spread all along the east coast, from (sometimes) Florida to Montreal. That would require a glorious amount of duct tape.

I think I've become overly emotionally attached to my online friends.
Have you built shrines to any in your closet? If not, I think you're just fine.
No, but I get worked up over them too easily.

Filled with gratuitous amounts of testosterone. Enough testosterone to shrink a bull elephant's testicles like an uninformed human bodybuilder on an overly long steroid cycle.

Heya, I noticed I only have one Jesus picture posted here and I've changed a lot since then. I'll post a time-lapse of pictures over the past few years. I have precious few, so I'm posting them no matter how unflattering.

Oh god not this one. I had just grown out my hair for the first time and my mom and grandma convinced me to straighten it. Here's me with my grandmother when I was ~15. I think she looks far better than I do in every way in this pic:

These are my Jesus ones, from when I was 17 and still in high school:

Now we'll move on to my scruffy and starting college stage at 18:

My newly shorn self (wet out of the rain) followed by me trying to find my identity as a thief and roguish archaeologist at 19:

And finally me today at the ripe old age of 20:

And last but not least, what I think of you all!

Because you always help me when I feel like... well, this one's just me sleeping, but pretend I'm actually depressed

Virginia: You're always 45 minutes to 2 hours away from something actually good.
Awkwardly though, it took less time to go to somewhere in NC than it did to go to a place near herndon. You'd think being in the same state would be shorter, but nope. We compared the mapquest directions after the trip in class since so many people asked.

Virginia: Also shaped like a stegosaurus to fuck with Mapquest!

I remember the family friend I had a crush on when I was like 6 used to spend all her time in old-school chat rooms. I never got used to them. Too much dungeon keeping, not enough dungeon mastering to get into the real internet culture.

Today, Anonymous took down every GoDaddy site on Earth.

So apparently going by that link.

Main Godaddy site: Still active and working. Sites of innocent customers: Fucked up.

Way to go internet freedom fighters. Really sticking it to the man there.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that mean more than actually taking down the sites homepage? I mean, their site is just a poster for their operations. They attacked their operations. Sure, some innocent people were inconvenienced, but they've certainly scared the shit outta me for one by demonstrating they can cripple the entire business rather than just rip down the poster in front of it. Uh... who hosts B12 by the way? I'm a little worried now.

(not condoning it and you're 100% right that it's wrong to all the wrong people, just saying if they wanted to impress me they have)

Talking to other people? Is that not what IRC is for? I know there are absolute tons of Bay12 based IRC channels around. I got five open right now. (Although admittedly two of them are pretty much dead and another is on the way out.)

I'm too young for IRC. I've never known its joys and I can never hop in the conversation. I'd rather hang out silently/awkwardly in a newfangled voice chat room.

Look on the bright side. You're clearly not cleaving toward your family tendencies. :P

That really sold it, btw. For being chill you know how to RAEG in text.

Life Advice / Re: Community colleges and four year institutions?

Mainiac knows the ways of the South by proximity if not direct interaction =p. But he is certainly right in that you'll need to drive a great deal if you pick a rural school since the community college campus is most likely far away. However, this is not always the case! I live in Richmond, Virginia and go to VCU. Within the city, hell, just off of the VCU bus stop is J. Sargent Reynolds Community College. There is also one much closer to the suburban area (with affordable apartment housing) and a few other locations.

First off, I don't know a damn thing about VCU's computer science programs, so they're probably not all that good. Thus, I am not creeping on you. I'm merely trying to point out that while many places, especially in the South, require a great deal of driving between a traditional university and the nearest community college, that if you look in cities you are more likely to find them side by side, because it always is useful to be able to take a few courses at one and supplement some at the other. I actually had a friend who took 24 credits one semester (please for the love of god don't do that) by jumping between J. Sarge and VCU. Also, community colleges generally have many campuses. This can be a blessing and a curse. The good news is that most campuses offer the very basic gen ed 101 courses. The bad news is that for anything higher the campuses tend to be specialized. You may move right beside one of the campuses thinking that's the one for programming or whatever it is you wizards do, but it turns out to be the medical campus and the real one is an hour drive away.

It's a portmanteau of squeal and squeak I believe. One does it inadvertently when something especially adorable or highly anticipated happens.
Inadvertently. So all purposeful squees are mere imitations of the real thing.

Close, but I never said it was SOLELY done inadvertently, I was simply giving an example of when one might squee, not when squees must occur to be classified as squees.

Though it is pretty hard to get a real, heart-felt squee without some sort of muse.

(Note: Originally heart-felt was spelled "Hardfelt." Freudian slips ftw)

I've had bad experiences with Teamspeak, Vent is what I've used for a lot of things but it does cost money, Skype I've only used for 3 way calls max, and Mumble I've never heard of before. Maybe it's the stupid optimism that people feel about the future, but I have a good feeling about Mumble! (Good feelings aren't worth anything. Especially not from me)

I think you have a right to go on a righteous angry rant about letting you have a say in such matters rather than having people assume what you want for you.

Probably, but I'm just so damn chill about things. I mean fuck, my blood's boiling and my response to my grandmother was "I'm not mad, I was never mad, this is a big misunderstanding. Call them, tell them I love them and that there's no animosity. I'm doing homework (I omitted the "and posting on bay12") and I'll call them tomorrow to sort things out."

This is why I've rarely been in fights that weren't set up beforehand. I just can't get worked up past the point of reason about normal things. Now if you're near and dear to me and I see a cigarette in your mouth I will go fucking apeshit and kick your ass, but anything shy of that I'm pretty chill.

Did we ever make a decision, or does one of us have to be proactive?

Eh, I'll be proactive tomorrow.

And Mumble sounded like what Kaijyuu was leaning toward, so I'll lean with Kaijyuu too. Maybe we should make a new thread with a poll or something? Nose game!
