Yea, thats why I said it may have been misinterpreted.  It could have been anything from a kobold to a goblin.  That thought about guards of different religions sounds possible too, what with the civil war and all that happens when goblins kill their demon lord.

Edit:I'm only a dabbling speller.

You sure? I believe nervous injuries (the spine) can cause everything below that point to no longer function.

That would explain the dropped crossbow and the falling over.  Looks to me like an interesting but misinterpreted gamelog.

I discovered that my dracon apperantly worship a carp.

I find that both distressing and amusing at the same time.

Well turning weather and temperature off is supposed to help immensely.  Weather doesn't really effect adventure mode (or dwarf mode for that matter) much anyway.

Supposedly playing in a smaller than standard size world will help too.  I know it helps in dwarf mode it will probably help in adventure mode too. Even just a medium world has plenty of room for adventuring and only needs to remember 1/4th of the map data a standard does.

Also you'll probably start moving faster once you get into less populated areas.  A big massive highly populated capital city would be much slower than a small town because every time you move, every creature in the town has to figure out if they can take their turn, figure out where they wanna go, and then move themselves.

P.S. I should point out that the disk is currently my most awesome throwing item ever.  I have yet to top it.

If the groundhog was named it probably killed somebody Wilderness creatures typically cease to exist when the area is unloaded or they leave.

However when they kill something they become a historical figure, the game doesn't like deleting historical figures.  So instead of deleting it it tosses it into some random cave somewhere.

While goblin slaying did you ever see a groundhog fighting goblins?  If so, that is that groundhog.

I usually get proficient swordsman, proficient armor user, Novice swimmer, and put whats left in wrestling(too lazy to train it manually)

Then I acquire a good old two handed sword by some means or another, fling my shield at some random creature(I don't like being able to use two handed stuff with shields.)  And then go kill stuff. Being careful to sneak when I suspect archers are present. Even with dabbling sneaking you can usually get pretty close to stuff.

Seems to work well.

Ha!  I need to do this.  Shame I'm currently in a Dwarf mode game and my "side project" DF install is taken up by the pokemod.

If I still had my old gamelog I would post all the decapitations from my "fun with dwarf mode trap components" adventure my sig is from.

AHA! I do have the old gamelog!  I wonder how many I did.

Elves are supposed to be a tad faster than humans too. but thats really all I can think of. no good weapons or armor.  And it's only a matter of time til yer out of arrows.

I belive theres a modding tag for armor that determines how many you can layer on top of eachother.

I never messed with armor yet though so I'm unsure how it works.

I did have an adventurer wearing 3 sets of masterwork chain and two vests though. It was fun.  Master swordgoblin simply couldn't hurt my upper body.  Then he cut to the chase and removed my head though.

Dayumm the most traps I stuck on an entrance was two rows.  Sure they were all stacks of 2 steel serrated disk traps, but even that seemed unbeatable.

I figure they would probably be unhurt by a booze explosion.  They have a natural heat that is about 10000 degrees Fahrenheit hotter than MAGMA. I think I did the conversion right...

At any rate that's more than hot enough to make a little boiling beer insignificant..

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Most awesome dwarven feat?
« on: February 26, 2008, 11:10:00 am »
That dwarf companion has a button you can push to read the adventurer mode combat spam in dwarf mode. It doesn't tell you when an attack glances away or when something bleeds to death, but it tells you what got attacked, how, and how much damage was inflicted.  Thats usually the main thing I have it open for in dwarf mode.

I had gotten a goblin(Orcs really) siege really early into a fortress once.  I had a wall up but the drawbridge was still unfinished so it didn't slow them down at all.  A unit of recruits was hastily drafted and quickly cut down. Not a single enemy wound. The fortress was painted red.

None were left in the fortress and I was wondering why I didn't get the game over screen.  I checked the unit list and lo and behold there was a child hanging out in the middle of the wilderness!  The orcs quickly headed off in her direction, but the child saw them coming, and ran for the bridge over the river.

The Orcs followed, chasing the child. But it was an ambush.  The bridge was mostly unused. Because a group of HIPPOS had taken up residence near it.  The child passed by unharmed, but something about the heavily armed Orcs made them angry.  It suddenly turned into 4 Hippos versus 7 heavily armed Swordsorcs.

The orcs won the fight, but with 4 dead.  The remaining orcs then promptly fled the battlefield.  The child lived. and I watched her wander around the fortress for half a year waiting for migrants before I got bored.  The child oddly enough only got down to content, never unhappy through the entire ordeal.  The fortress was an almost constant sea of miasma.
