Debian... why do you hate me so?

227
My throat hurts, my nose feels like it is full of concrete and every joint on my body feels sore. I've had to bash my head against a keyboard trying to understand Debian and FreeBSD and to top it off I woke up two hours before I had to because one of my shitty local newspapers decided they should give me a free sample of their waste of trees.

Today was an annoying day.

One bright spot though, my father had baked some bread and came over with a nice loaf to me :D

harem pants
Blargh... can't believe those things became popular again. They plagued my older sister and now they are back to plague me. I just find them so incredibly ugly I'd rather have people walk around in towels :p

It... is... too addicting... but I just made 17 times my salty bucks on Winnie The Pooh. And Duane keeps dancing. Must... do... something else... but...

I narrowly avoided my first trip to the salt mines with some extremely lucky bets clever analysis and forethought.

This also deserves a spot in the WTF thread but my initial wtf'ery can not outweigh my happy with how such a thing can exist :p

Get Salty!

EDIT: Damn you Spongebob you failed me!
FAKEEDIT: YEEEAAHHH Grievous! You saved my salty ass.
EDIT2: Nooooooo! So close to triple my salt! Damn Rimle choked in the second half.

Solaris!

Arch Linux!

RSTS/E!

On a serious note though, I'd give her Linux Mint or I guess Windows XP (for such an old computer).

Thank you Totalbiscuit for leading me to itmejps channel for Dark Heresy, which lead me to Rollplay which eventually lead me to Neals twitch and the awesomeness that is eSports Mafia.

Dear monkey moustaches, what have I gotten myself into this semester. Signal Analysis is bloody hard. Doesn't help that I can't bloody remember anything at all about 'faltning' (according to wikipedia this would be 'convolution' in english). This is insanity!

America started school a fucking month ago, we've already ridden the but-I-don't-want-to train and have stepped off at let's-buckle-down-and-deal-with-this-shit station

USA USA USA USA

Lessee... AP World History, AP Calculus, AP Government, DE English Composition, DE Human Anatomy & Physiology, and good old Economics. Luckily I don't have Spanish 3, they stopped offering that at my school once they realized that they were already assholes for only offering spanish and latin as foreign language classes. So instead of learning something interesting, I get to sit through rehashed bullshit and loads upon fucking loads of homework.

I don't quite get american colleges. I mean I am studying to become a civil engineer specialized in computer science and networking. Which means my days are filled with math, comp.sci. courses, physics etc. A friend of mine is studying to become a math teacher, studying well.. math and courses about teaching etc. Another friend studied to become a lawyer and did all the law stuff.
What I am getting at, here, everything is focused, you choose what you want to study and get courses tailored to that1, but whenever I hear about americans, they have things like you listed, a mish mash of World History and human anatomy. I guess there is a difference between swedish universities and american colleges I am missing here :p

In the lawyer example I guess you go to 'law school' for that, but how does that tie in with college?

Sorry for rambling :p I got up really early and I am tired as shit, if I made no sense what so ever, just ignore me ^^

1You can choose courses outside your program of course, but at least in my case, there is no way I would have the time to take a course on philosophy in between my engineering stuff.

Ooooh, what did everyone spend on textbooks? I managed to keep mine at around $450. Buying used is great, except the previous owner of this computer science book had a penchant for dicks.

Around 300USD for this half-semester. More than half of it, roughly 190USD was for a single damn book on Signal Analysis, and the kicker is that it is only about 450 pages... grumble grumble. By far the most I have paid per page for a book so far.
I spent less than that on both my damn Calculus book and my Physics book covering three courses together and those beasts were massive.

I am going to agree with Flying Dice here. In my opinion, you are rich when you don't have to think about money even for luxurious items (by this I mean, buying a top of the line car without caring about the cost, not buying a private jet, doing the latter I would consider out of the realm of rich and more in the line of really fucking rich.)

Scumbag Games Workshop. Been thinking about getting into WH40k again and finally do the Adepta Sororitas army I have been wanting to do since forever, only to realise the new codex is stuck in two issues of White Dwarf I can't bloody find anywhere. Who had that brilliant idea?

I've been looking at wowcrendor's videos on Hearthstone and I must say, I am terribly interested. I am usually not a fan of collectible card games (I like card games, just not collectible ones) but hearthstone just looks like it's fun. I am not one of those that is sad to see land play gone, I always hated that mechanic wether it be in mtg or System Crash or whatever, just made it way too easy to get dicked over by not drawing enough or drawing too many "mana" cards.
