Gah had to turn off the music of the game... fucking dubstep after each game makes me want to take a dump.

I am going to guess that the reason the ban is still active has less to do with HIV and more to do with "people" being afraid to catch teh geys.

This news makes me sick... this is bloody 2012 and laws like this still exist in a modern society... I am bi, and I know a few full out gays, and fuck am I glad I was born in a society where religious nutjobs don't have much influence.

So if someone sees someone sucking terribly on the EU servers, and that person goes under the name Ashana. That would be me.

EDIT: Had a nice session a while ago, lost every map but I must say, some of these maps are gorgeous. My problem is that I am conflicted, I got onto a map that was on top of a scyscraper, I got killed a few times because I was staring at the background. It turned out to be snipers paradise though and I didn't have a sniper :p

Got it a while ago, managed to play two games before getting disconnected from the game. I quite like it, it will hold me over until planetside 2 atleast.

I was almost jumping with joy when I in my first game managed to sneak up on an enemy, shoot him in the back and steal his mech, then in the second game I managed to find an awesome camping spot and proceeded to lay waste to anyone coming to steal our precious flag, for some reason the enemies hardly ever actually looked there. (It was a hangar map and I was standing on top of one of those stairs with wheels.
Also pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to rake in the cash just by playing normally.
Weapon customization seems fleshed out and I love that they don't abstract much, they just throw you the raw numbers of the weapons, this means it is alot easier to make informed decisions on what weapon to build.

Negatives I'd like to point out though.
*I am not a fan of spawning right beside enemies...
*The maps are a bit too small, atleast the two I managed to play, it feels a bit too spammy.
*The layout of the menus and store etc, feel cluttered and unintuitive.

i thought that was ea and not soe...i'm probably wrong as i dont pay much attention to the mmo market

No that was in fact EA/Bioware with TOR, unless SOE has done something similar.

Try the Perry Rhodan series which was a German sci-fi epic series starting in 1961, it's "pulp-ish" but goes from the first discovery of a crashed alien craft, and tech appropriation, to mankind empire building and waging interstellar warfare with reverse-engineered alien tech, and building their own battleships / fleets eventually, and that's only the first "cycle" of stories (in the first 50 novellas) out of 1000's

Pulpy but fun if you like old-school sci-fi

At this stage, there are over 2600 novellas in the series, only the first ~137 got into English.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perry_Rhodan

Sounds extremely interesting, but 2600 novellas? damn...

Thanks everyone, got some great suggestions, I should have reading material for a while now :D

Hmm been thinking about trying this but the whole renting thing is putting me off a bit.

I like it.  It takes about 7 minutes to earn enough GP to rent an item for a day, so it's really easy to try everything.  Plus, there's an avalanche of temporary rewards you get for leveling up early on, giving you tons of opportunity to try different things, figure out what you want, and save up to buy everything you want when the temporary free rentals wear off.

I'll try it out tomorrow if the weather is bad, this kind of F2P system is a bit scary to my brain but it sounds like it might have been done fairly well.

Zelda II: Palace theme on guitar.

I love this, awesome music from my second favourite Zelda game. It still makes me nervous hearing this music since I just know those damn jumping palace guards will come to kick my ass :(

I figured it was time to retire Prokhor Zakharov. Now I am using this one which is a picture of my ear-crush Alison Sudol, I love her music, always makes me happy when I listen to it no matter my mood before. It is a picture I did some playing around with.
