Wait, we're demonic, evil and chaotic, why are we being polite enough to do a pitched battle?

KY should haunt the dreams of their army, corrupting the good men and turning the neutral. He should single out the weakest priest/mage and destroy his mind before moving onto the next, if they band together, he should avoid them and strike at the unprotected. Get the corrupted soldiers to sabotage the army, and when enough of their magic users are gone, send spectres in to haunt them.

When everyone is exhausted, terrified due to all the magic users randomly dying or going insane, and all the food and water supplies have been ruined, then we have our corrupted soldiers make a fight of it, and only then do we bring the battle to them.
this is the idea.

AND, UR, the strenght of cavalry is charge impact, which is nicely given by M*Vē. Speed is more important than mass (armour). But it does count, yes. ::)

Also, why not wires and repeative crossbows? it's not like nobody used them on earth, in the antiquity...

And open the trenches/wires right under the cavalry, they're set for them, not the infantry.

even simple wires should do. It's not that hard to make some. And I personnaly son't want the Titanmaw to fight the cavalry, especially alone. Trust me, I play warhammer battle, and I saw countless "Uberbeasts" being slain outright by a well-placed cavalry charge. You want some infantry to soak up the initial trample and slow down the cavalry. A knight's strenght is speed and speed above all.

And, well, is it really less demoralizing to see your brave holy crusaders to trip like retards and break their necks over simple wires (no trenchs. too visible. plus, wires can be manually put up or down (with underground imps or other) rather than being killed in a rather fair, square, honourable fight with a beast? Such a death is wished by many knights. Let's just not give them. Make them fall and die in the mud like shit.

okay, attacking bowmen with flying forces may not be the best idea ever, unless you drop rocks, fire and diseased corpses from above, too high to be hit.

Magic duel, lost? with support from Mad Flames? naaah, not possible.

We donīt want to totally stop their charge. We just want to know where it will be. If we do trenches at our flanks, they have to charge against our front. And that is good. And, even if we have our Titaneghoul, a full, unstopped charge is devestarting.

And I agree that barbed wires is probally to much. But normal tripwires (If that is a word), is not to hard to make. And they whould slow the cavalery down, and make an easy target for the Titaneghoul.
+1. Use trenches to redirect on the titanmaw, make them trip and THEN release the beast.

Increase filaments to the limit sustainable by 4000 food income.
Move normal underlings underground and dig tunnels, deep in the earth. Continue expansion on trees and move yourself under the biggest you have. Make all future underlings hairy for night.

I like Armok's suggestion. But I agree that it must be done later.


Optional suggestion:
For the battle, I think we may trick them into thinking we're attacking from the plains (maybe zombies or quick troops, and illusions) , so that they go there, then main forces goes to hilly terrain.
Or better: double trick. Illusions of quick troops advance in hills. Then it dissipate and some useless troops advances on plains. THEN, real army launch true attack on hills, when ennemy turned his back and is disorganized.

Tricks:
-we could use spectres or imps to secretly put traps, notably barbed wires, under the battlefield. When cavalry charge, magically raise the wires and make those pretty knights trip. Laugh maniacally, counter attack.
-Titanmaw from the flank. Aim for the weak troops. Wait for the mages and monster hunters to have been neutralized.
-KY should engage in magic duel with the mages.
-Flying forces bombard priests, then bowmen.
-EDIT: also, make wonderful promises to the mercs in their dreams, of riches, slaves and power. With subtly alterating their thoughts so that they are more susceptible to accept your offer, without being too heavy "surgery". You are persuading them, not outright forcing them. Tell them that if they, say, picnic rather than charge your troops, tey'll be rewarded. We don't even ask them to fight for us. just don't attack.

Priorities: mages/priests>cavalry>monster hunters>bowmen>king>infantry

I was thinking about the less scarce, normal trees but that could work to.
Escpecially if we can animate them in such a way that they turn some of their kills into new trees.
seed-planting tentacles. the seed feed on corspes and grow a new fleshtree. plus, animating flesh is way easier: it has muscles.

Have the good slaves that wish to work in the mine for a wage do so. Offer the bad slaves and the slave drivers a chance to repent and work in the mine as penance- for no wage, but in good conditions: enough food, not worked too hard, etc. If they refuse, Kill them. Invest the output of them mine in getting it up to spec, like Nuke suggested.

Study the amulet, so that we can nullify it and others like it safely. In fact, see if we can find a way to redeem the skeletons: this would temporarily turn them to good, granting them some angelic might, before they self immolate. Next time we run into a skeleton army, we redeem them and laugh as our enemy crumbles. Then destroy the amulet.

-Teach Alyshtr how to heal mum, and let her do it herself. you may or may not help.

-Trap the Nukemaw in a valley, with possibilty of quick release if needed. make sure prisoners enjoy being digested, but not boba fett our cultists (beware arms' reach, and evasion).
I'd like to reserve its use for gods-blessed (cant say goddamned...) Culloden. (at the crucial moment, when town is ravaged and nukemaw before the last priests, appear and laugh "where's your gods, now?"

-create more sintaurs, summon black imps for riders, and mount Fleshwood Impalers on the sintaurs, manned by the imp. enjoy.

-spies should spread truth and lies alike to tell the king is kind of mad, and deal with both rebellion in akataki and beastmens invasion (but no demon, that's legends...)

-mad flames work on support magic.

-concentrate darkcall on demons.

we got A LOT OF food, so yes, moar filaments, backup, and order the scout to escape underground, or if impossible, lure the biped far away.

Also dig deeper, and get that grass unnoticeable (turn it normal-green). And move at night.

BTW, we WILL get REVENGE on this city. (add it to the glossary). one dy we'll be back, with bigger army, siege engines and all. And we will watch from our throne the town burning, as our servants use catapults and dragons to rain down fire and rotten corpse on the city, and the surroundings will be on fire, and people impaled all around the place... yes...

Also do not approach the probably black, somewhat sticky & stinking floor on which corpses were found. danger ahead.

I vote to sleep until morning, working the night, in the cold, will cost us many lives and resources.

In the morning, make more fool to collect lotsa food. we'll need more expeditions.
