General Discussion / Re: Things that made you sad today thread.

I finally managed to go to bed (relatively) early yesterday, only to wake up at 3am and lose that additional sleepy time by taking forever to sleep again.
Then I make the nicest dream ever about finding a girlfriend, only for it to be crushed by the alarm clock.

F*ck mondays.

I have been reminded of an argument on the pronunciation of the word margarine.

It ended with a call to a margarine manufacturer to ask them directly. Then the staff started arguing over the pronunciation.
As a french, pronunciation of "margarine" poses me exactly 0 problems.
Always funny to hear englishmen using french words like it's english.
Though french do it with latin too so there's that.

"should have" vs. "should of"
This is what I hate the most. People who make this mistake really have no idea how English works at all and are basically speaking phonetically, without awareness of how verbs and propositionsprepositions work.
OH GOD THAT ONE.
also "I could care less", meaning exactly the opposite of what they mean...
Let's not even start on the it's/its, they're/their, etc...

With all due respect, UR is the one on the frontlines. If some nation went and annexed a chunk of yours, you'd be right to be afraid they'd go further. Even if it turns out to be wrong.
Closest analogue I can get is (again) nazi germany, and France. When France surrendered, germany completely annexed Alsace and Lorraine, and turned the northern half of France into a german dominion. South was puppeted, but "free". Inhabitants of the southern half were worried that germany wouldn't stop there, and they were right.
So there is precedent and while the situation is very different, there is enough similarities for worries about Russia going full-annexation to be valid.

That doesn't mean Russia will go balls-out and annex all of Ukraine, but it still may.

I think the battle's gonna be over before I can do anything more, but I'll join anyway.

Presenting Sergei Ivanovitch, healing "carp what's for dinner" in zone 1 if nobody does that already, otherwise move up.

I get it, Thunt got killed by Reapers.
He just didn't have enough Paragon.
Bb-but you need 'Renegade' to win. :(
You 'live' in the blue one too.
xD
Yea. You did.

But still. That was an absurdly great twist on how ends go.
Now I wonder about the news I recall years before that said CEOs of Bioware were fired because of that...
I ship the fanmade endings.
There was a fuckton of potential if they ascended the fanon, but instead they hammered THEIR idea with the extended cut DLC.

Cynicism or not, that is how the things are, and always were.
My point stands.

I do note, however, that you did not add "and always will be". Make that what you will.

In all seriousness, yeah, reforms like this take a long time and people dedicated to making their country better. Especially if doing so doesn't involve any real personal gain for themselves. It is very difficult to do and few people have both the skills and determination to do it. But get enough leaders like that and enough people rallying behind them and some very good things can be accomplished.
Never said, or thought, it would be easy. Yeah, big changes are hard, very hard. Doesn't mean that we shouldn't do it.

Unless things go horribly wrong, in two turns the germans are going to start feeling the heat.
On a secondary note, I'd suggest to make something about the dead bodies. I think making them "transparent" or something, to identify them more easily than with just a little skull somewhere. It's beginning to be crowded and at first glance we seems much more numerous than we really are.

Post it, characters being morons and nearly getting themselves killed never went in the way of good stories.

Note that you will still be able to access both dojos, you'll just be able to join one at will while needing to be invited to the other. And you'll only be able to buy weapons/frames from the first.
