Can I use Runesmith/DFHack to make my dorfs marry each other? I want to start a fortress where people are married.

You must set fire to a plant using 'g' and then hope they stay around it, bet way to burn them is to enter sneak mode, ignite a plant beside a foe and wait him to burn, as people do not notice fire not burning, he'll die, all that will remain are the bones.

snip

I've tried to do this thrice, always get flooded with migrants and the buildings take too long to make, so people starve. I turned the pop cap to 15, and I'm currently building a hall. No shit this time, it will take as long as it needs and it's gonna look good.
I was planning to make the hall 4 z levels high, but I mistake in the planning made it be 3 z levels, it's almost two years and the second floor isn't even ready.

The buildings will be simple, first floor will be made of bricks, all the rest of wood. Nobles will live in a dolomite castle. Farmers on wood only longhouses.
I'm also diving labours. You will make pottery, you will be the carpenter, you will be the mason, womans cook and weave, farmer women help in farming, no female nobles as far as I can have, houses will only be delegated to married couples, singles will live in the second floor of the hall.
Also I'm playing with humans.

It's something simple really, just pour magma over water, I think something like this would work out

      ____
     |      |
W =        = M
     |      |
     |____|
W comes the water, M the magma, fill it with water a little then pour some magma. This will produce a lot of steam though, you should build some grates to let it escape or wait for it to dissipate before moving dorfs in.

Upon breaching the first cave level I found some crafts in elf and gremlin bone. What the fuck is that and what made them?

I'm a bit late, but from the way I understand it, the pop cap gets checked before sending out the immigrants. So once you hit the cap, any groups that are already on their way will still arrive, and any current pregnancies continue on. it just won't send out more migrants (or allow for new pregnancies) after that. (Unless/until you drop below the cap again.)

Population cap relates to the immigrants only, not to babies.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Augh, too much clothing.

Dump it into a magma pipe, sell it to caravans, melt it, store it in a stockpile for when you dorfs start to get the clothes fucked up, etc...

You'll never run out of things to do with stuff you want to dispose in this game. Part of the joy in DF is detting rid of stuff. :P

A clow took over in world gen, pretty rare for dwarfs.

My baroness wants pig iron items, but none of my workshops seem to have anything they can make out of pig iron. Any solution?

As the guy above said, make bars, be thankful she likes something so useful instead of lay pewter.
