Earthquakes-Lower building strength and may collapse unstable caves/structures.

Volcanoes: Magma! But it may erupt, creating new land/layers/minerals and spew an ash cloud over the land.

Continental Drift: As years go by, continents slowly drift...What once was a tropical island may eventually become a frozen tundra. Similarly, what once was a glacial cap may become nothing but a big puddle...in turn raising ocean waters across the entire world.

Global warming: Dwarves are not very Eco friendly, eventually that Ozone layer is going to fail with all those furnaces.



These two make no sense, the world is supposed to be created from literally "Nothing" and it's very new, global warming and continental drift take a very large ammount of time to make changes that we can actually see.

If you think that minecarts flying over gaps and landing on rails perfectly is bad, simply don't make gaps .The same is valid for cannons and rapecarts.

I walked away from the computer and left DF running. Shit. Missed Autumn and Summer, and now have no booze in a saltwater fort. FUUUUUUUUCK.
Switch the autosave option to [SEASONAL].

Have you tried using wall grates and levers? Or if wall grates/bars have pov then use 1x1 bridges. Close them when you need merchants and such to pass by, open when a titan or an ambush comes in

Floodgates and doors linked to levers would work too, and there is no risk to atomsmash kids who are passing by.

I'm getting another kind of pattern : Very high skills, no family nor gods, usually useless skills and all of them are between 80 and 90 years. I'll abandon this fort and check my civ history, I suspect that the game is generating those migrants out of nowhere.

So if you gave a vampire a farm patch, a few pigtail seeds, a farmer's workshop, a loom and a clothier's shop (or alternatively you could get some spiders) you could theoretically keep them going forever?  I guess they'd move agonisingly slowly due to lack of alcohol, but they should move faster than clothes rot.
They don't drink, so they are not alcohol dependant.

And one of the most important things, FULL BODY CLOTHING. Syndromes can kill your guys very very very VERY quick.

Since the last update all my migrants in 2 different worlds (One had a 280 years history and the other had 470) all my migrants only have one wife/husband and no gods or kids.
Anyone is having a similar situation?

First sucessful fort, 22 dorfs, temperate forest. Shit hit the fan when the river froze and we ran out of booze, people started to punch eachother in a miasma filled hole then the fort succumbed.
