Based on what you said in the first post of this thread, a "read the wiki" link was perfectly acceptable. You had a problem that the wiki professes to solve and you hadn't said "I've read the wiki."

If I use a tileset with grey pixels or one larger than about 100 pixels per tile, I get a massive penalty to FPS. Anyone have any idea why? It used to not do that for me.

Also, since this is a bug, you can use teleport.exe to teleport them a few tiles away from the workshop.

Good.

Nothing in particular that I know of, but a lot of problems posted on these forums have easy solutions on the wiki.

Are you backing up the entire save folder?

Have you ctrl-alt-deleted and then played without restoring from a backup?

What we want is for it to look engraved until you can see what the tile actually is (by mining to it).

I'd say "this annoys me too" except for the fact that I haven't played a non-test fortress with detailed walls.

Cancel the above. It annoys me too because I see detailed walls on DFMA.

I think you could make a workaround with hide.exe and granite.exe. I haven't actually done it, but I think it would be possible. See this page on the wiki for my idea because the forum doesn't have good enough formatting capabilities to do it to my satisfaction.

Have you downloaded the driver from http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp  ?

You'd want Graphics Driver -> GeForce 4 Series -> <insert>.
