HW1 is like that in multiplayer mode too. They're a bit slow though, and hyperspace jumps are almost prohibitively expensive.

I don't think you can move the mothership in campaign mode for either game though. All the movement occurs in-storyline via hyperspace jumps and such.

If the trailer is anything to go from, yep.

Since this is here, it's worth saying that Torchlight 2 is coming in July.

Spider aside, this is actually a good place. I do wonder how some people find these places. RNGs and then use what's given?

Basically what you said. After looking on the Minecraft forums, I found that it was randomly generated by someone. Really amazing.
Probably one of the weirdest absolute spawns, equal to gargamel.

This one has been going around now, a friend told me about this.

Make a world with 3666440496532277820 as the seed.

Have fun.

Discovered a band called Machinae Supremacy that are a lovely heavy metal band (from sweden, so you know it's good) that use chiptunes in there music, in fact, they use SID chip from a Commodore 64 according to the wiki.

But please check out this song:
Machinae Supremacy - Jets'n'guns

If this doesn't make you want to make you road rage across several hundread miles, you have no soul.

The game those tracks were made for is fun in itself. The music really adds to an already good shmup. And it fits entirely.

It's available on Impulse and Gamersgate for those interested.

Well if it counts for anything, Notch has stated he was working on mod support. I believe this was mentioned last month or so on his blog. It's probably why we haven't seen much stuff from him, while most of the features we've seen lately have been from Jeb.

I wonder if the spawn persists if the bed ceases existing. That would solve being ambushed by a creeper...

Although an annoying form of griefing would be going around punching people's beds to reset their spawn point, if that were the case.

I don't even think they fire in auto-combat either, like most specialized weapons.

Somehow I've been wormholing on a dirtbike. 512 times in fact. Although, it mentions that I've done 512 wormholes on an "invalid" vehicle too though.

My time online seems much more accurate, 4 days. There's some other glitchy stats but it seems like a neat feature. It probably hasn't been keeping track of all of them since the start of this galaxy, so I'd imagine some stats won't be accurate until next galaxy.

And deserts are not terribly common. There is probably more sand that isn't underwater on beaches than deserts in any given world.

I've noticed it depends on world. I think the temperature and rainfall stuff is rendered across large areas and dictates a number of biomes, so if those don't line up right, deserts won't be very common.

I play on a private SMP world that has quite a few deserts. I live in the tail end of an absolutely large stretch of what can only be described as a wasteland. Huge, nearly-treeless plains intermixed with gigantic deserts. You can travel for thousands of tiles along it and only come across a couple small patches of trees.

But yeah, none of them are particularly wide enough to pose a resource issue. At most, you're only 200-300 tiles away from trees or anything else you need that you can't get in deserts.

Maybe someday biomes will be bigger.

I've had babies land in ponds after being born before. Twice in one fort, in fact.

It was... disturbing.

Blue-eyed cats are more prone to deafness.

This, however, does not apply to Siamese cats.

But an interesting bit on those: They are genetically black cats.

"Lightning4" is pretty scary stuff.

There's some cool cliff/mountain stuff, and on the other side of one mountain there is an absolutely massive overhang.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

There also tends to be a ridiculously large monster party underneath that overhang. First time I saw it, there was easily something like 10-12 creatures underneath it. There's only a few in the shot though.
