Like, I get the root kinda feeling that's behind pushing for a highly desirable feature or a bug you've been annoyed by for years to get fixed. I'm antsy to see adventure mode return for example so I can tackle trying to update my main mod to the new raw system for example.

Hell, deeper than that, there's been some lingering concerns sticking in my mind since well before the steam release was even announced. I've expressed criticism before in the vein of being leery of how Toady often just bounces from new feature to new feature and leaves the bugs to pile up. I have personally experienced what years of the "broken implementation now, actual fix and feature-completeness maybe later" mindset can do to a game's code quality (caveat: this experience is from an open-source perspective so it's logically going to be infinitely worse than it could ever be for a one-man project, because you don't have hundreds of people all deciding that fixing their poor-quality code is Someone Else's Problem), and I've reported a great many backs on the mantis site that were all pet peeves of mine, myriad obstacles that languished in the mantis bug tracker until the site wiped, so many of my old personal wishlist items will likely go eternally forgotten.

But repeatedly going "fix this NOW" in this thread, and more importantly starting arguments with everyone else who responds to you about it, is fucking childish. Not to mention it's just pointless at best (fun fact: one of my myriad lingering anxieties is the fear that Toady no longer cares about this community and has shifted focus to kitfox and/or steam, with things like updates not being properly reported on the forum header and negligence in dealing with persistent trolls in some threads) to shout it out here of all places, at worst you'll get to experience the power of Spite Development wherein being pestered to implement something motivates one to do literally anything but that.
