If we can take and hold the coast, the raiders attacking the capitol will be cut off from their supply and forced to react, probably sending part of their force against us. If we can defeat that regiment, their main army may be forced to break their siege, or risk splitting in half, which might not leave enough men in either army to maintain the siege or take on our force. It would probably mean the end of the war.

I say we get in the boats and sail down the river. If our whole army doesn't fit, we have the boats sail slowly alongside the marching army. We're going to want the boats in case we have to cross the river, we don't want to get bottled up at a bridge or something.

non-infected don't get shot without a reason, so you would have some explaining to do. They might even assume you got bit.
Well, there's going to be a giant hole in our arm either way. We just got shot. Best just to help it heal as quickly as possible.

I think the worry is that DF is still a bit harcore and graphic for the mainstream audience
Thats the first time I've ever heard someone refer to DF as "graphic!"  :P

Does nobody else find it humorous that the OP's last name is Baggins, and the main contributor to the thread is Halfling?

Tell him we march on Torchester, after we meet up with the rest of the forces necessary to oust the invaders.
And if we win we then march to the capital.
I'd leave out that last part, we don't know what the plan is after rescuing Torchester. With almost everyone rebuilding from the plague, I'd guess our duchy's combined forces are going to be rather small, maybe as small as a thousand or two depending how hard the other cities in the duchy have been hit. That might simply not going to be enough to even attempt to break the siege of the capitol city. We'll almost certainly need help from the other duchies, but we have no idea what state they are in, and we have no authority to call them to arms anyway.

Summon a large dog bone and throw it. See if the Bone Horror will chase it like a dog.
I'd suggest trying to throw a dog instead.
You know, James looks a little like a puppy. Just saying.

And now to wait for the hell-storm thats going to come my way.
To be fair, James just said that he needed us to distract the monster, he didn't specify how we were supposed to do it! Throwing a kobold at it would distract it, just like James wanted!

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Making soap: Am I missing something?

Is the soap maker's workshop in the same burrow as the tallow? Also, is it attached to a stockpile?

Let's grow larger and be better at walking and running (without losing the flight, of course)
What's the point of walking or running when you can fly?

Maybe we could offer them homes in Curbiston. There are probably lots of empty houses and farms there.

Also, we need to find out what happened to Uriel Lope.

I agree with moving court to Curbiston. It has better defenses, a better palace, better location (for trade and war), better port... As far as I can see, its simply better in every meaningful way AND its the traditional county seat.

Oh and i am totally calling Uriel Lope as the Bandit King.
Hmm... that could make things interesting. If so, we definitely want to far outnumber him when we meet. He was the count's marshal for years, so he's probably a much better tactician then us... if it comes to that.
