How about we raise the levies from our own lands and ask our vassals upstream to raise their levies, then together we march to Pigsend on our way to meet up with the Duke's forces. Then we force the so-called "Bandit King" to contribute to the defense of the realm. IF he serves with honor, he can EARN our respect as a warrior and leader, and become a knight. Let him earn a title the same way we earned ours, through valor on the field of battle!

If he refuses, we'll have Denton and Percival there to help us destroy him.

We could just fly the kingdom's flag, if our kingdom has one.

We should at the very least re occupy Curbiston with a military force, since it's an important fortress and valuable strategic point, as both a resupply point and just because of how bloody well defended it will be.

We do seem to be at war, after all. And, if I remember correctly, Curbiston is downriver from us, so if we can get the chain working, we can use it as a first line of defense against sea raiders coming up the river towards Feroshire. So we should probably see if we have any sort of engineer(s) who might be able to figure out how to fix the mechanisms.

Do we have any idea what's going on in Carshire? It was an important town as well, and it might be in even more imminent danger from the vikings.

And if Arthur is alive and enough of his court is dead, he could always have an accident and disappear into the mass graves.

Arthur has a valid (-ish) claim on the throne. He didn't just happen upon it by chance, he was (possibly) born into that position. If he's alive, we should help him as much as we can.

We definitely should send some scouts into Curbiston before we go in ourself. It could still be full of plague victims and plague-carrying rats and such. There's not much point seizing the city if we just end up dying of the plague.

The viking-type guys probably won't be interested in colonizing us way up here... yet. But they might be interested in raiding us. A lot of the surrounding country is pretty devastated, we might be a relatively rich target for their raiding parties.

Evolve crude real-time electrical telepathy.
Fine electrical impulses from the sides of the Slicers can be interpreted by other slicers' electrical senses as the transmitter's visual sensations. Our evolved brain allow us to analyze the signal and "see what they see", and combine it with our own vision. Large groups will in time be able to have a single unified vision field. It is NOT a hivemind, just shared vision.

How do you know her blood type? Is this a thing I missed?
We don't, as far as I know. But O- is the universal donor. Anyone can receive it.

If we don't give her the worm there is one possible outcome:
 She dies.
Apply pressure, stem the bleeding, get Theresa to patch up the wound as best she can, and go raid a hospital for blood! We must save Diane as she is! She is awesome! We can't take the risk of her becoming... something else...

Do we have any way of finding out her blood type, in case there's no O-

I don't interact with real life, I play Dwarf Fortress!

I liked the electro-communication we used to have. Do we still have that? Like we can change our electrical field in ways that other slicers would pick up and could interpret. It would be pretty cool to be able to communicate in a way that most other organisms can't even detect.

Well, crap. That could have gone better.

If we're anywhere near a hospital, they usually have plenty of blood of all types in stock. We could maybe go raid their supply, if there's even time for that...

What are we trying to accomplish? I mean, do we just want to watch the world burn? Or are we trying to unite all of humanity under our rule? Or are we going to replace humanity with zombies as the world's dominate species? Or what?

I thought we were more option 1, just out for as much destruction as possible (and revenge, of course). It seems to match our character. But people keep talking about renewable human populations and preserving ecosystems, which makes me wonder... I mean, honestly, what kind of zombie is bothered by his possible ecological impact on the surrounding ecosystems?

Maybe we should bring in the whole horde. Ferry them in one train-load at a time. And then besiege the city. Cut off power, travel in or out, and water lines if we can. Shortages should start popping up in a matter of 2-3 days, panic will almost certainly set in before then. People will try to run, and they'll run right into our horde. Once the city is in shambles, we can move in and start infecting everyone.

I have a married couple, Meng Roughwhips and Stakud Whipfondle.  Match made in dwarven heaven, I suppose.
That post goes well with your avatar picture.
Whuh?  Now you've made me feel self-conscious.  Time for a new pic, I guess.
This really makes me wonder what his avatar used to be...

Damn shame. Samwise Gamgee succumbed to an infection today. Something could have been done for the poor bastard, if only his mother had stopped carrying him around and taken him to the hospital. Some people.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It was probably the wisest choice, really. Seeing as the Mad Fool is running our hospital!
