Can someone give me a summary of what happened in the last 7 pages?
We came in to the sector we were supposed to destroy.  It is guarded by 2 destroyers and a few weapons platforms.  The destroyers told us to get lost.  We sent out a stealth bomber with a nuke towards the station and messed up the fire controls in the weapons platforms so they will now fire on anyone (friend or foe).

Then Julius, of all people, got on the radio and told us that this was a House Laberine sector (not whatever house we were told) and that we should leave immediately.  We prepared to do so, telling him this was all just a big mistake.  Then someone ordered the stealth fighter to launch the nuke, blowing up the station.  Helios malfunctioned and is possibly dead.  Julius is a little upset about us blowing up the station.  I (Urist) jumped ship destined for one of the destroyers.

Then you got a message from me telling you that I was the one who shot the nuke, and blew up the station, but that I did it to get rid of a weapon that House Laberine was working on to wipe out the AI race.  I said that the weapon was now aboard the Firestar and I tried to draw it out, but it didn't appear to have worked.

When you questioned Julius about this anti-AI weapon, he seemed to think you were referring to something you found aboard the Flarewise which their marines captured when they boarded it.  Julius blames you for the death of all the people on the station and is now ordering his ships to fire on you.

If the game was just single, huge counter that filled the screen and never dropped below 100, I would be content.
Here you go

Uh.. hang on guys... it didn't take the bait... weird, for something designed specifically to go after AIs, it doesn't seem too interested in me... HELIOS!?!  Are you still alive over there??  We have to get it off the Firestar!

Flash message from the destroyer, the channel remains open and broadcasting my signature after you've received this message:

Hey guys, its me, Urist!  I know recent events probably makes me look quite bad, I mean, I did just blow up an entire House Laberine station and then run off on you.  Sorry about that.

But here's the deal: House Laberine has built a weapon designed to permanently end the "AI problem," ie. wipe out the entire AI race.  Hopefully, the ones who built it were all aboard that station.  You don't have to take my word on it, they've just released it onto your ship.  Its already killed or seriously damaged my good friend, Helios, and now its probably wreaking all sorts of havoc on your ship's systems.

I'm going to try and draw it out of the Firestar, once I have (and it should be pretty easy to confirm) I want you to kill power to ALL comm units, or it might come back to finish you off.  ANY form of wireless communications must be disconnected from its power source or outright destroyed.  Once the destroyers are dead in space, please blast them into dust.  I don't want any piece of this thing ever getting out again.  I know you have no reason to trust me, but I'm trying to save your lives and my whole race.

Gentlemen, its been an honor working with you.

Hey Alice!  Want to come over and play?

Skyrimmer is right!  What could possibly be more important than updating your little forum game for our amusement?  :P

You know, think about why we're here:

We got promised a lucrative, though unspecified (I think...) reward from one "House" to wipe out a colony from another "House", and with no real reason given! Moreover, what the hell does this "House" want it for anyways? From what we know, it's barren. As well, if it's just a turf conflict, why are they using mercs to do it? So far, we've met with much more than what we bargained for, and the parameters are starting to set off my bullshit alarms. I don't trust either of these "Houses" as far as I could throw them, that is to say, at all.
The one house was using the base as a spy post and forward base of operations against the other house.  The house that hired us just wants them gone.  They are using mercs because they aren't technically at war, and would like to stay that way.

What's not over?
The game?
You lost it.
:( I always lose that game!

No, I was talking about this game, ie. the evolution game that we used to play on this thread.

Is the station armed?

That won't work.  The constructed walls are connected to your floor (the part labled 'r' in your diagram) so they won't collapse.

You'd have to make the middle floor look something like this:
Code: [Select]
OOOOO
OCCCO
OOOOO
rrrrr
OOOOO
OCCCO
OOOOO

We already have a nuke in place, or at least nearly in position to take out the station, so boarding it wouldn't really help us, since we can already take it out whenever we want.  Also, stations most likely hold hundreds of people, and as this is a military system they will probably be armed and well-trained.  Our little boarding party would probably be slaughtered.

How about we fire a few shots from our main railgun into the path of the destroyers.  They'll take a long time to get there, but the destroyers are accelerating towards us, so that will cut the travel time down a bit and add a huge amount of kinetic energy to each impact.

It also doesn't count as "mist" to give your dwarves the happy thought they get from waterfalls.  Just in case thats what you were thinking.

Well, you could always try killing the Titan, then Urist McLeverpuller will have no issues pulling the lever in question.

I'm pretty sure steam doesn't do any damage.

We've never fought a destroyer before.  I don't know if nukes are overkill or not.  Maybe we can use one nuke for the minetrap idea and at the very least we can probably blind their sensors to the barrage that we will then unleash on them!
