Was fun to watch an my first succession game.

had to reclaim again for additional supplys

,ostly continued work on the shrine fort

the work on the giant tree farm and the slabbing of the dead is the main workload

got a migrant wave on the 26th of malachite in the year 255 mid summer

going to play till the new year and upload the save

This was the only thing found by a scouting party was this badly spelled peice of zombie juice coverd paper.
Whoever wrote this had much higher hope than the zed infested fort we have seen.
Three generations of zubb have died in the attempt of settleing this fort.
It will most likly be quarantined when this report makes it back to The Board.


Does anybody want this save?
If you do you will have to walk me through the procces.
If not, I understand.
This timeline can just end and I will watch the other one.

My miners made a last stand but they didn't make it.

Holy crap that was what that weird wormhole thing was on the way to the fort.
Good thing there was still a dorf or two of the original 7  alive to tell us that:)

But I won't be doing anything more until later tonight but I will still be doing some of this fort, maby with pictures if I can figure it out.

In your world the fort never fell, in this one it is being retaken (or attempted to).

Alright I have started the reclamation of whimcrafted uneder the managment of The Board of Fortresses.

I have named the new manager (7zubb2).

The other starting 7 are.
1 miner
2 woodminer
3 farmer
4 farmer
5 crafter
6 crafter
7 manager (crafter)

We arived around the 5th of granite.
Being mercenarys we forgot to keep the books so well and it may have been a week or more before I remeber'd I'd have to tell this story.
The first order of buisiness was to get the wepons and explore whimcrafted.
The crafters all had bronze spears and the other two used their job specific weapon with the labour off to keep it from glitching.
This took a long time as I just looked and scouted while paused for maby a half hour.
Eventualy I had to order the dorfs inside.
We explored most of the fort proper but stayed inside the walls of lower whimcraft.
Unfortunatly quite most of the graves were disturbed.
Notably zubb1 the secratary and some unnameds were all buryd in a mass crypt next to the main hall of lower whimcraft.
We were going back to the surface after failed atempts to wall passages off.(don't mass unforbid everything)

4 killed thol heartmine the deep abyss the forgotten beast d.254

A report from the fight.
Got that stupid beasty, but he got 2 my woodminer.
3 went crazy somewhere in there.
I was being overwellmed by the fort's bigness.
So I had the main entrance floored over.
5 and 6 happened to still be inside.
For the Board so sais zubb2 the manager.
We moved into that shrine that was built by the first oversear(OP).
Guess who lived with us for this time, Chaosgear.
His gohst.
His really cool grave lies empty.
Zub2 engraved a slab for him personaly, between tantrums.
Miner 1 dug down into the mountain under the shrine, thats where we got the chalk.
Hardly a stone at all.
A dwarven child gohst broke the rest of zubb2's hand while he was building the child's slab.
Zubb2 went berserk and was immediatly followed by 1 the miner.
Good thing most of the fort (now suplimented by a fresh migrant wave of maby 6) was still armed with their bronze spears.
They were both put down.
The crazy 3 farmer thirsted to death.
We are burying as fast as possible and engraving slabs.
Need more migrants and less gohsts.

It is now the 18th of malachite the mid summer.

I don't really understand dorf time.

K that was my first attempt at a reclaim or a succession fort.
Gonna continue until I get the fort stable and learn how to upload a save.

Sorry to all the dead guys who are floating around.
Although it is pretty funny to get scouting reports from gohsts down in the caverns about dead has been found drowned.


This has been a report from the fort  of Whimcrafted, now under the managment of The Board of Fortresses.

They might be owned actualy.

I can sell them to the caravans so not sure if that means they are owned or not, I think they are.

Why would you want to keep old xxsocksxx that you dropped on the ground and never intend to wear again?

Stupid dorfs.

That workshops links thing is a great idea.

For increased storage I could also link that stockpile to a quantum minecart pile, that would probobly do it really well.

I've never had to realy fight FBs before, I usualy play turtle.

I at one time (last year) had the dorfs dumping xxclothesxx into a minecart and then dumping it into a quantum stockpile.

How do I get it to work again, I forgot the stockpile settings.

They seem to ignore the pile if I set it for only unusable items.

They dump good clothes if I make a refuse stockpile.

Thanks for the links.
I looked at them and it dosen't look like what I wanted is possible so I'm gonna move this to the gameplay questions thread and see if I can figure out how to get stockpiles to accept UNUSABLE clothes only.
Uhhm I'm a noob at forums in general other than asking very direct questions, how do I move the thread to gameplay questions.
Do I just lock this one and start a new one?

Right I do not like having piles of unusable clothes piled up in my forts, neither do I like to make a refuse stockpile that my dwarfs ignore unless they are throwing
perfectly good <socks> in it to rot.
I would like the answers or pointers to some questions.
I have not been able to find the raws for charcoal to make the [PRODUCT:CHARCOAL],I'm also not sure how I would go about telling the game to make RAGS (a custom
ITEM i'd have to make)for use in hospitol work.
The last resort of just having the modded loom just burn the clothes would be great.
That would just require I not have any PRODUCT assigned I think, or I could copy paste ashes, but then I'd have to atomsmash the ashes.

Aright sum it up where is the charcoal raws and is it even possible to have a reaction use only one type of quality item like UNUSABLE.
If I add CHARCOAL as a PRODUCT, its not that simple is it?

Holy crap, this thread is still around.

Why don't you put the child in a danger room with food and water that has a view of another lethal danger room that is used to kill a variety of things.

Wouldn't that simple it up?
