If you only started with 7 dwarves sometimes migrants turn out to be enemies in disguise and actually pick up and move your fort so, that could be it too.

My outdoor farm plots keep disappearing. Is it the winter weather or is the Kobold and Goblin thieves popping up?

but you probably had enough buckets, the issue was more likely that your dwarfs had more important things to do that give water to their dying friends.

XD

Build walls and an artificial pond elevated above it. Build a screw pump. Pump in water over his head and either drown him, or flush him out the end.

Maybe its pulling out an arrow, striking the arrow, drawing the bowstring, aiming, and firing and repeating.

On Pressure-Plates and bridges.

If I have a row of pressure plates linked to a bridge, when an enemy walks over the plate, the bridge should raise/retract yes? When does the bridge go down?

Okay he's dead. Problem solved.

Has poisonous bite, so it won't directly harm as a way of just walking around but, it conducted a meeting, which offered nothing other than a "hello, nice place you've got here" conversation. I dont know... weird shit.

Why would a dwarf-trooper prefer to wield a knife as opposed to axes, spears, swords, or hammers?? I have one that just became a legendary knife user.

My guys are wearing cloth armor, some leather and every now and then someone has a wood piece of armor (from the elves) or a bone helmet (crafted from workshop) and no one has ever gotten so much as bruised. I've had them in the room for months (non-consecutively). Babies and pets still get impaled (actually pets less so. I had a rabbit die of infection). It's a new fortress, havent done resource digging and haven't built forges yet so I don't have access to metal. That being said, each square in the danger room has 4 training spears as Spikes.

Again. Never so much as a bruise. They all have wooden bucklers and their shield-usage is all legendary (the lowest at 2x, the highest at 5x), their fighting is all the way up, but dodging is only about half way.

I'm thinking of having them remove the shields and go in.

Could he have been wounded in some accident or mildly-retarded encounter with something even remotely dangerous? Maybe his legs/feet were broken and nobody bothered to carry him away or bring him food. Do you have a Hospital zone enabled with beds, etc?

I just build a simple danger room for training my dwarves -- my first in fact. It's a 3x8 room covered in Spikes linked to a lever. Just to test it I pulled it once.

It impaled 3 of my dwarves.

/facepalm
