After many failed tries in that world, I succeeded at becoming a vampire by drinking a non-vampire's blood laced with a vampire's blood.

Powerleveled an adventurer, but ran into 2 bugs: vampire blood not making me a vampire, and some loyalty cascade thing... I'm trying to solve it by retiring for a while.

Vampire problem persists, but the loyalty cascade was solved.

Can NPCs in worldgen be adventurers now? My first adventurer in 34.09 found a speardwarf, tile already flashing blue before recruiting, whose profession was "I have wandered the wilds for thirty-six of my years. Mine is the hand that killed the stupid dwarf Deduk Spiralfence!"

And the vintage Hammerer raws are quite an annoying problem only turning up in genesis, since the hammerer is actually changed to be appointable from the very start, now that it's needed. And unfortunately, if I notice it after I made an otherwise perfectly good world up to and including several adventurers, I have to start it over again since entity_default.txt changes require a new world to take effect. And it's kinda easy to forget looking it up in the raws before world generation the 3rd time.

Error was from setting CotG = Hammerer. Apparently known bug. Was the only other dwarf I had handy that handles stress well and I'm superstitious about well trained heavily armed dwarves roaming freely in the fortress. My last fortress was 10 years old and had a mayor from the first 7 founders that had lived through two spirals and was a master weaponsmith. The CotG's husband got stabbed by a Minotaur in the lung then dodged off the top of a 10 Z waterfall.  She wasn't too happy about this and complained to the mayor, didn't like what the mayor said and went berserk. Didn't matter the mayor had master combat training, armor, and a weapon - office still got redecorated and it took a squad of marksdwarves and a squad of speardwarves to take her down. New policy!

Ran fortress forward another year and no reports. No more deaths either so guess there was only one vampire. I'll try releasing him and see what happens next time he gets hungry.

It's a pity. Executioner, judge, executioner, jury, and executioner all in one person sounds pretty much like what a fortress needs  ;D

Does creating a dormitory and then assigning individual beds out to dwarfs still count as having their own bedroom?

I guess yes, you an only assign a bed if you make it a room.

Probably a lot of "First of his/her kind" goblins died in the siege, and much of their population is children, who as far as I know will only grow up properly during worldgen- I've read about dwarven migrants entering a long-standing fort as children at ages of 20-30, only turning adults on their first birthday in the fort.

Witnesses may take their sweet time to report. I had a fort in 07 where they took a year to report a guy, luckily I caught him with Dwarf Therapist. Drink Blood is a valid job with the strange mood icon... :o

Try the manager screen (j-m), q to give new order, choose a soap reaction. Even if it's buggedly red in the workshop, this might circumvent it.

No, these are example interactions not used anywhere. Necromancers in world gen use their own generated stuff.

And if I copy this in an interaction_necromancer.txt file in raws/objects, and set the number of randomly generated secrets to 0 or a sufficiently low number in advanced worldgen?

You could use trap design that doesn't include those puny traps. Do pressure plates also block wagon paths? If not, time to make a magma landmine based defense. If yes, you can still leave 3 wide paths AND exploit invader pathing to place traps where they'll go.
