Wait wait wait, sorry for double post but this deserves it.

Urist McSheriff, who's also my hunter, was actually the one who ended the reign of terror. I just looked at the thing and it was covered in a pool of its own blood, and I had a hunting (not combat, HUNTING report)

I check it and fine that it took him two shots to kill the thing that had been terrorizing my fortress for the past four ingame months.

It's official, McSheriff is now the most badass dwarf I've had in a while, especially because hunting is a civilian profession, meaning he did it without getting scared off or being told to do so. In fact, he didn't even consider it "combat", but just another animal to hunt.

Damn. I got here too late. In the future, you can always blind your dwarves!

Can they access the workshop? Workshops have unmovable squares, I remember accidentally walling in a Dwarf with a bowyers workshop.

I usually never bother about that. I only notice if a dwarf dies, and then it's not trapping anybody, so who cares?

Saying that ebon has a similar crystal structure to gold, the value for molar mass should be 206.4814 grams per mole.

The current value is 196967, so what's 206.4814 in Urists? (BTW, thanks for doing the math)

I don't know... using ebony for weapons seems curious to me. The only place you'd see ebony on a weapon is on the handle. I wouldn't mind seeing it as a high-value wood, since in keeping with history it should have more use as a crafting material.

Also, Ebony is a wood. Ebon is the metal I made, requiring ebony to smelt. Would

Hmm.. I just realized that I had the molar mass of bismuth bronze. I just changed it to the molar mass of gold, so I should probably retest. :(

I don't see why you would suppliment a strong material with a brittler one myself.

I had thought that it was in the TES version, but then, I haven't played that.

Are you sure they used the ebony logs for the reaction?  When I tried using your original reagent definitions, they made ebony bars, but didn't actually use the logs.

You're right. I changed the color, and I will momentarily change the reaction now that I'm free of school.

I had forgotten to add it to the permitted reactions (Thanks OwlEppicurus)

I didn't change anything else, and have successfull made 4 ebony bars and an ebony mace.

Quick question: How do I make the bars black? They're brown right now.

You know If you're going for the TES route you might want to think about getting amber from trees, Like in the shivering Isles.

Never played, just seemed like an interesting mod.

DOUBLE EDIT: Hah ha! I embarked, bringing ebony wood. And guess what? There were ebony trees! Now to test, once I get some flux.

The metal has been renamed ebon, and I also changed the ebony tree to [BIOME:ANY_TROPICAL] to make it a bit more common.

I shall be changing it to have the edge of steel. (Also, it uses 4 logs. The other two are just at the bottom.)

EDIT: What does Molar mass do? And Max edge?

I'm not sure if having the metal and wood have the same name is a good idea.  Might work fine, probably won't, better be safe and name them differently.
