But, hey MCPO is a valid naval rank. And it would be worse if his name was John.

And Armok, some of the Tech is based slightly off of Peter F. Hamilton's work, which is terribly unrealistic.

My god, his stuff is acctually amazing. Unrealistic yes, but he makes it believable. Good stuff this. I like where its going. Buuut, one problem you seem way to much focused on the environment rather than the people... way too much info for all these things, guns, supercomputers etc. etc.

Oh, and yeah I have to agree with Shadow there, tapping off someone elses work is quite bad. But theres not a great deal of evidence you've done it here, so thats all good :D

(P.s what books have you read from Peter F. Hamilton? I've just finished the 'Reality Dysfunction' and started on another one... damn forgot the name of it lol... its in the another series, one about the Dyson Pair of stars or something?)

if theres anything I learn when reading sci-fi, its that nanites/brain augmentations are the coolest thing ever. By chance, have you read any of Peter. F. Hamiliton's stuff? Its full of really clever ideas involving neuaral nanoics as they call them.

Otherwise, great start. You already have me hooked :D

P.S oddly, the film in Britain is rated an 18, so you'd definately not see any children around to watch it.  (I'm not entirely sure what the difference is between an 18 and an R rated films between the countries)

Link

We haven't yet sunk to the level of letting the government tell us what movies we can or can't take our kids to, although after seeing the 9 year olds running out of the theater when I went to see 8mm, that may not be the black and white issue I tend to think of it as.

Basically R = 18, only your parents can bring you in if they want to.  We have NC-17, which is pretty much the same, but not much gets that (other than pr0n).  There's a lot of politicking going on involving that, largely due to the bad rep that movies stuck with NC-17 get (dismissed as pr0n) so it's defacto censorship in that movies duck to R to maintain profitability.

Ah ok, fair enough. I guess that would be a bit cooler if we had R ratings instead of 18s, but im 18 so i don't care anymore. My brother (who is 12) did lol.

But then again, we do have EXTREMELY awesome drinking laws, legal drinking at 18, yum yum :D

Oh and on a less derailing note:

Suppoesedly the DVD release is going to come with different cuts of the film. And suppoesedly the cinema version was the shortest one... I think theres a proper 3 hour version, which if there is. I'm watching it, its got the comic in comic series (i've forgotten the name of it, its been so long sorry :()

Parkour is fine, so long as your not endangering anyone other than yourself.
There is always this argument with public healthcare and how we all have to pay for it (depending on where you live, I guess) but that opens a whole can of worms, like recreational drugs or the whole big brother debate.

(I do mountain biking, so i know this stuff. And let me tell you, going down a set of staires at a 55 degree angle, is NOT the same as a hill :D)
Yes, Yes, I do mountainbiking too.

But do you also do trial? Do you have a set of 3 inch wide and 5 inch high tires with fat knobs and low air pressure just for the stair riding thing ? ;) With the proper equipment it can be a lot safer than going down a bone dry single trail at the same angle.

one slight turn of the wheels and they'll land differently to your bike, and whoops, off you come.
Doesnt happen, unless you do REALLY bad. If you get the right speed or are even when going very slow and are in contact with the stairs at all times, you can steer pretty much normally.

Not to mention I can stand still and pretty much turn around, too. Altough I dont really enjoy doing more than a 90° turn standing still on stairs. It just turns into work.

Do a barrel roll!

I wasn't following this arguement at all. But I shall put my thoughts here again.

Parkour is fine, so long as your not endangering anyone other than yourself.

Oh and Edit: Puck, riding bikes down a set of staires isn't much like a hill of the same angle. gotta remember, you'll have alot less friction on staires as you do going down a hill. You have to be perfect in going down it on a bike, or one slight turn of the wheels and they'll land differently to your bike, and whoops, off you come. (I do mountain biking, so i know this stuff. And let me tell you, going down a set of staires at a 55 degree angle, is NOT the same as a hill :D)

It was a good movie overall. Great for fans of the comics, although as always with these things people are left dissapointed about there not being abosultely everything the comic had, in the film itself.

I did have a few issues with it though.

Slow motion effects being overused.
The music coming in at innapropriate times.
And the difference of Rorscachs voice when he had his mask on or off. He just didn't... sound like the comic was suppoesed to make him sound imho.

P.S oddly, the film in Britain is rated an 18, so you'd definately not see any children around to watch it.  (I'm not entirely sure what the difference is between an 18 and an R rated films between the countries)

I like this demo, very promising. Is it just forever going to be stuck in the one place fighting tougher and tougher bosses? or will there be movement of the Player Character?
