Are Morrighan, and Morrigan the same goddess? (I have been confused by this for a while now)

Yup. I used to write it as Morrighan, but then I caught an arrow to the knee I looked it up and it is Morrígan, in the actual mythology.

Kindly give the kutebolds pointers in how to lay a proper ambush. Maybe we can be friends! :D

[23] You accidentally hit and kill the two kutebolds :(

The room is cleared! You receive [11] Something poisonous [2] a glob of poison! [81] You act quickly and jump away from it before it hits your hand or body.

Next room?

Donitz carefully slides the door open, and succeeds in not making a sound. He peered into the room from the side of the portcullis, and then almost gasped from shock. There, standing in the middle of the room, was one succubus
Spoiler: this kind (click to show/hide)
and four metal skeletons. Also scattered around the room was a number of trolls holding various junk like white rocks, red rocks, shattered scrap metal and a large log. One ogre was walking away from the succubus into ... seemingly, the wall, before it slid out of vision through the wall somehow.

Donitz was quietly despairing: a succubus was one of the most strongest Fomorians and not an easy foe even when alone; this one had a huge workforce of trolls and four elite skeletons as a guard. At least the succubus was looking the other way.

Then, behind them, a pleasant and familiar female's voice said, "Hello."
Quietly, of course. The voice belonged to Lasa, who had a stick with a small snowflake design in metal on the end. Behind her was old Raynold, also grasping a huge two-handed sword almost his height.

"We were worried when you took almost five hours for a basic spider squashing run, so we came to help," Lasa said. "Think of it as an extra credit-test thingymajig. Use your collective brains to come up with a plan."

"Because," Raynold admitted, "those monsters are not exactly the kind your average retired veteran and young mage can take care of." He was poked by Lasa's elbow. She grabbed his ear and furiously whispered something. Raynold amended unconvincingly, "Actually, we can take care of those, but we won't for your sake."

He was elbowed again. Of course, because he was wearing armor, the elbow-er was more hurt than he.

Go South. If there's one thing Urist McKarma has learned from D&D, it's to not mess with fountains that you don't understand.

Luck(Inuition) Roll = 36

You go south, unbeknownst of the fact that the GM has never played D&D, nor has the GM hve anything bad planned. You clear the room and get a gift:[8]something hard[98] You obtain one set of enchanted Masterwork Steel Plate armor that is worth 20 points towards defense!

[69]
You open the door and find one pair of kutebolds waiting in ambush.... facing the wrong way.

Renew the assault on the ghost! Hopefully, we won't get any charges for attempted spectral murder.
[9] Your fists inflict 9 damage on the ghost!

[20][11]
Mr. Flufferbums inflicts 31 damage on the ghost's Confidence!

[3] damage is done by the Electic Slimebloc!

[8] damage is carried out on you by the ghost!

[18]
A pair of interplanar lawyers appear and attempt to sue you for attempted spectral remurder, but
[59]
the earlier True Neutral ghost appears and convinces the jury to find you Not Guilty!

The lawyers leave to let you commit an act of self-defense in peace.

Donitz reads over the sheet and familiarizes with its melody, reducing the chance of making a mistake.

Zario charges up 5 instances of Firebolt, using 20 mana in the process. Also, Donitz has already set up three beartraps on the entrance to the boss room. Does anyone open the door?

We can win this! Attack the ghost! Kitten, slime, KILL! If anything is going to hurt my pets, let it hurt me instead!

Curses! I can't die here! Who will watch after my fluffums and slime!

[76] You punch the ghost in the body!

[16] damage was dealt, bruising the soul-center and chipping the ghost!

Mister Fluffertums scratches the ghost for [13] damage!
Electric slime bodyslams the ghost for [13] damage!

The ghost attacks for [5] damage!

This is another story set in the Mabinogi/Mabinogion world.

On the night of a certain Samhain (Sunday) at midnight, there were reports of Fomorians escaping from Koil Dungeon. Everyone assumed that only weak ones like goblins or kobolds were attacking and did not pay attention until it was too late. A large scale attack was under progress, and civilians were cut down left and right far before the local guards and the paladins of Morrigan were able to respond. The monsters that escaped were not the kind to be fettered by a bunch of farmers holding pitchforks...

*image from Mabinogi

You wake up from a bad dream, in which everything you held dear was burning, letting off clouds of black smoke and accompanied by the acrid smell of charred flesh. Except that the smell was real. Very real.
You go to the windowsill, and see houses burning, smoke rising, people running and soldiers marching. You see a woman who is mercilessly cut down by a black-clad warrior, an old man with a sword exchanging blows with another black soldier, a small band of guards running across the plaza, and one of your friends tripping and falling, pursuited by an ogre.  You close the curtains again.

Slumping down on the wall, you try to recollect your thoughts and break out of the sleep-induced stupor. Who are you?

(1) What is your name?
(2) What gender are you?
(3) How old are you?
(4) Are you physically strong, or are you more of a thinker?

(5) What are you going to do?

Don't worry, your pets are probably quicker than you :P

[20] You fail to run, because the bookcase is too heavy!

[79] The GHOST OF LIBRARIES PAST attacks you with its ethereal fist ... [59][2] and fails to do any damage :/

The Minor Fire Spirit hits you with a firebolt for [3] damage! The Minor Fire Spirit hits the Ghost with [1][13] a CRITICAL FAILURE, inflicting -13 damage!

Mister Fluffertums scratches the Ghost for [15] damage!
The Electric Slime Blok bodyslams the Ghost for [11] Electric damage!

I'll try and calm the ghost. Make sure to be very very quiet, and no sudden moves. Respect the ghost. If that works, see what the heck a Minor Flame Spirit is. If the attempt to calm it down fails, use the Minor Flame Spirit on it.

Yay! We're back :D

You...

[4] Insult the ghost's heritage , against your common sense :-0

The ghost ... [67] Decides to drop a bookcase on you.

You receive [29] damage! Bookcases hurt :-/

121/150 Hp is left.

[2] You don't understand what the heck a Minor Flame Spirit is supposed to do. It is an item, at least ....

[47] You use the Minor Flame Spirit on the Ghost of Libraries Past! One red glowing ball with four wings appears and starts firing firebolts at everyone in the vicinity including YOU!

You receive [13] burn damage! The ghost received [3] burn damage! ! ! !!

I'll try and go back to the room that I had come from. If I can't, FIND A WAY OUT OF THERE! also use my item shower skill :P

:3 I was waiting for you.

Oh, and, uh...If the item shower is a bad roll, very bad things can happen, fyi. Good things too, if it's a good roll...

[8] You utterly fail to get out of the library, and instead awake the

[21] GHOST OF LIBRARIES PAST!

The ghost growls hostilely as you make a frantic sound trying to escape.

[49] You use Item Shower and boom out, "SUMMON BIGGER ITEM!" and a Minor Flame Spirit falls on you!

The sight does not please the ghost.

>Skate back and slam the ball of your foot down on it by an arcing kick. Yelling euphemisms all the way.

[12] You slip while skating and fall on the floor!

[73] The skeletal archer's arrow finds its mark and

[15] deals 15 damage!

You have 77-28 = 49 HP left!

Griph knew not to touch long pieces of black metal embedded in things. He ignores it entirely, and claims the bow and book.
>Read book as far from the black metal as possible.

The book is called Theology and Mythology of Urla. (read in OOC)

>Take the paper with writing.

EDIT: Nope. Not happening.

EDIT2: >Try reading the book on Firebolt. Prepare an instance of it for the next room.

The Firebolt book makes absolutely no sense. However, Zario still learns how to use it perfectly. Zario learned Firebolt! He concentrated on a point just in front of his hands and imagined ...
It took 5 seconds, but a small ball of fire wreathed into existence. Prepare more instances?

"Might as well ..." Reso says he stands up, and brushes the bits of stone off of himself before reaching forth, and grabbing the black steel.

Take the black steel. Pray to my Goddess that it is not harmful before hand.

Reos grasped the black metal with his hand. A slight shock passed through him, but nothing bad happened immediately. He gave a pull, and the talc around it broke as it was separated from its core. The black metal was shaped like a cross, with a longer vertical shaft than its horizontal. The ends of the horizontal bar was flared yet angular, and flat compared to the rounded vertical bar. It was very heavy, and was roughly 2 meters long and 0.7 meters across. Strangely, it fitted into Reos's bag ...

*sob*

"I think the dungeon book says there is a boss in the next room. I'm gonna set up my traps here and we can lure him in. Also it was my luck that got us all this stuff. I should have first pick of the loot. I'll be taking the paper please."

Donitz claimed all seven pieces of paper. (assuming you went down the stairs) He set up all three beartraps in front of the huge door and looked over his spoils.

Spoiler: Spoils (click to show/hide)

Should Donitz open the door to the final room?

Standard on anything below my level, critical on pretty much anything else. My usual standard is between 40 and 70. Most of my stats, excluding strength, are in the early 50s to mid 60s. For some reason my strength is 104 or some nonsense like that.

Once, my Dex was 200 something. Every single Magnum shot netted so high...

Also, with my fully modified pair of broad swords, I got 100s on each swing......I miss those days :-(

Soon I will run far far away from Griph, because he'll have little reason to not kill me after the dungeon. This means I might be running solo to find my answers. I hope you don't mind.

I thought it was Alex O_o

Umm... Its fine with me. Btw, what papers are you talking about? There are like 6 :P

Also, the papers Griph claimed are probably Alex's, if I remember it correctly.

I just logged back into Mabinogi, and apparently deal 100 damage with one short sword hit at level 6.

Critical? Do you have a high strength/combat mastery skill? O_o... What's strange (and fun) about Mabinogi is that levels are just a number. Skills, and by an extension stats are much more important, and levels are just a means to the end.

On topic, this dungeon is drawing to a close, and soon you (plural) will be let out into the wide open world again :3 Let's think of this dungeon as a crude tutorial :-9
