Fire Emblem on Forums: Wonderful Blessing of Our Goddesses On This Beautiful World

A long time ago, before the world existed, before there was light and sky and all that lives, there were nine Goddess Dragons. Titania, Mother of the Gods dwelt in a land beyond mortal reckoning with only her eight daughters for company. Though she lived in happiness for a time, eventually she and her daughters found the world to be lonely, small and empty. To fix this, Titania gathered her power, and the power of her daughters, and led her eight daughters onto the very chaos that existed before time and space. Combining their powers, the Goddesses took the chaotic matter that lay in the Void Before Time and forming it by hand into the foundations of the world, building it up from nothingness. They called this creation Generia, but the Goddesses were not satisified. The nine Goddesses looked upon the world, and felt it lonely, for, though there were many beautiful sights in Generia, it was empty, with nothing that lived among the trees and waters-

Hey, hey, wait a minute.

Why am I even telling you all about the history of Generia? This is boring. Nobody gives a crap about history. Who reads books, anyway? I'm a Goddess. A GODDESS. I don't have time for stupid books written about the petty mortal crap you people do. It's probably all full of whatever weird fetishes you guys are into. Anyway, you're here because of the advertisment, aren't you? So you don't care about some recap about a bunch of unimportant sub-characters, and you're here for the main event, yours truly. You either already know how the world was created, because you're from here, or you're one of those Revivians, in which case....I'm not a history teacher, don't ask me about history, y-you stupid NEET! You got that?! D-don't you dare give me that look! I know about history! I'm not some dumb broad just because I'm a beautiful young woman, you know! I AM a Goddess!

Ugh.

So, I guess you're all here for the advertisement I put up, right? I asked for talented and enthusiastic adventurers, to accompany myself, the one and only Serena Thalassa Nereida, the beaaaautiful Goddess of Water, on a special mission from the heavens themselves! I want only the best adventurers to accompany me on a mission to the Ultima Fortress on the other side of the continent and defeat the Demon Lord! Oh, the reward, of course! One million rhea to each member of the party, to be awarded upon completion of the quest...wait, rhea? That's what you guys call your money down here? UGH! That woman.....always having to get EVERYTHING going her way, that stuck-up little-!

Ahem.

Anyway. Yes, I will pay you all one million rhea, each, if you complete this mission for me and accompany me to the Demon Lord's palace. All you need to do is beat the seven Demon Generals, who are keeping a barrier up to prevent adventurers just marching into the Demon Lord's palace and sticking his head on a pike; once they're all gone, the barrier will go down and we can march right through without being fried like moths on a candle. Of course, a goddess like myself does not believe in something for nothing, so I won't be paying for anything else like inns or weapons. What do you mean you don't like that idea? You're adventurers, you can make your own money and pay for yourselves. A real adventurer has the ability to fund themselves! And of course you have to pay for me, too. It's only polite to treat a beautiful lady. D-don't look at me like I'm poor! O-of course I have money! I just don't want to pay for all of you, that's all! Wait, what do you mean you're only Level 1?! S-so what if this is the starter town?! Do you think a goddess like me pays attention to that stuff? .....no, I have NOT been sitting here all day waiting for people to join my party! Don't you DARE give me such a pitying look!

I gotta do the intro for this too, do I? Ugh, fine. Welcome to the best FEF on the forums, you NEETs, otaku and assorted weirdos. Welcome to Fire Emblem on Forums: Wonderful Blessing Of Our Goddesses On This Beautiful World!

....what kind of idiot came up with that title?

We'll be using Player's Handbook 2.0, with a few changes:
- Progression caps on non-HP stats can be conditionally increased up to a total of 100% and to a minimum of 0% depending on GM discretion and on how entertaining it would be to allow it.
- Instead of being permanently killed when three turns have passed after reaching 0 HP, players are removed from battle until the end of the current map. If all players are reduced to 0 HP, the situation will be handled as necessary. (What kind of a useless goddess doesn't have Basic Resurrection? -Serena)
- Knights now have 5 MOV. Generals and Great Knights have 6 MOV. In addition, Cavaliers may promote into Great Knight.
- The Apothecary promotion line is playable. In addition, Priest/Sister may promote into War Cleric. In addition, Apothecaries now can use vulneraries and concoctions on anybody and still attack during the turn, rather than just vulneraries on themselves.
- Lockpicks are no longer items; instead, any class with the Lockpick skill may open doors and chests without keys.
- Anti-Cavalry works against all Mounted types and Monsters.

Rise of the Magic Girls: Rebirth

For most of human history, heroes have fought in the darkness and secrecy to protect the world from evils beyond its very reckoning, the dawn prevailing against the night every single time. In every world, in every time, even in the most unlikely ways, heroes have come to save the world from those who would oppress it; heroism can never abandon the Earth's future.

The world presses on ever-onwards to greater heights, with ever-greater evils emerging to cast the world into utter ruin....

.....and ever-greater heroes rising to save it.

Where are you?
You are residents of the Special Administrative District of Minatodai, Japan. Close enough to Tokyo's larger metropolitan area for swift commute and far enough to avoid the atmosphere, Minatodai consists of the cities of Touto, Seito and Hokuto, a coastal city and two island cities linked in a massive metropolitan area on the east coast of Japan. You will most likely be residents of Touto, the largest city.

It is an experiment in cultural exchange; Japan, wishing to take in new ideas after decades of relative insularity, has taken ideas from Silicon Valley and invited domestic and foreign talent alike to live in Minatodai to create a new technological centre of the world. As such, there are as many foreigners as there are Japanese here.

It's new, it's flashy and the most multicultural place in all of Japan; you're as likely to see a Burger King as you are a traditional street stall selling noodles, and as likely to see a Western-style house as you are traditional Japanese architecture. Transport is state-of-the-art, schools are great and the District grows with each passing day. The future looks bright in Minatodai District.....

....except for the regular Zoanthrope attacks, attacks made by animalistic monsters that seem completely unreal, that have kicked up in the last few months. Becoming a national problem, the Zoanthropes have been the target of a governmental initiative to get to the bottom of the problem. Aside from that, of course, the future is bright; at least, you'll ensure it will be.

Who are you?
You are (or soon will be) Heroes, enhanced humans, whether blessed by the gods, by magic, by technology, by something else or some mixture of the former options. Either way, you can transform into a different form for battle; mostly magical girls (as the title goes), though other types of heroes are encouraged.

You will be hunting the Zoanthropes, monsters made from the unholy fusion of magic and technology, to protect Touto's people from the monsters of the night, both literal and figurative.

What is this?
Rise of the Magic Girls: Rebirth is, in essence, a reboot of the Rise of the Magic Girls series of roleplays started by scapheap. Unlike earlier attempts which tried to go with a darker atmosphere, Rebirth will try to be relentlessly optimistic; even in the darkest times, the dawn is not far beyond the horizon. This will be dispensing with the lore of the original to go with a completely new story, though there are connections to the original and shout-outs (as well as to everything else ever).

Where do I sign up?
Copy out the sheet template below and make your sheet. You have until the 1st of November (so most of a month) to make a sheet. Be warned that there are only eight slots for this game and it will NOT be first-come-first-serve; I will judge sheets based on the quality of the sheets and how you are as a roleplayer. Veterans of the older RotMG games are not guaranteed slots for this one, so newbies are always welcomed. There may be an extra slot opened if I think there's too many good sheets, but don't hold your breath.

Bellum Aeternus: Novae Fabula

Once upon a time, in the formless void, before the coming of light and life and all that was, there were two. Harmony and Discord.

One serene and graceful, peaceable and stoic in countenance and kindly in bearing. She was Harmony, beautiful and terrible as the dawn.

One burning and chaotic, his very form raging with eternal turmoil and anger infused throughout his being. He was Discord, horrific and awesome as the dusk.

Order and Chaos, Light and Dark, Dawn and Dusk; all must be kept in balance in order to maintain existence. Harmony's Champions and Discord's Fiends; all must fight in a battle as old as time, for the fate of the world, and write a new story in the annals of history.

To decide the fate of what was, what is and what shall be, they must fight in the Eternal War.

Welcome to Bellum Aeternus: Novae Fabula, the reboot of Sl4cker's Bellum Aeternus: War of the Gods.

As in the original, you have been summoned by a powerful entity, the being called Harmony, revered forever. You have been called to wage war against the evils of Discord, to fight in a battle in order to protect the cosmos as we know it; to restore the balance between chaos and order for the good of all.

Though Harmony and Discord have attempted to battle before, their divergent powers would tear the fabric of reality asunder. Instead, they have summoned Champions and Fiends to fight in their stead. As players, you are Champions of Harmony, chosen for their power, dedication to order or perhaps given the promise of some sort of reward for serving Harmony.

No matter where you come from, however, one must always remember: There can be no darkness without light to rise against it.

Also, there's only 12 slots, so please do hurry.

You awaken.

Well, specifically, you awaken in a clearing. The sky above seems relatively normal for those of you who're accustomed to blue skies and bright, singular suns. The trees around you also seem relatively normal, if you're used to your trees having trunks with bark on them and bushy leaves. The well-trodden ground nearby tells you that there's likely people who pass by here regularly, judging by the footprints and the ground that has had all grass trodden from its surface.

You can see smoke coming from below. You seem to be on a hilltop.

Nearby, a blonde man in light clothing- material and clothing-wise- awakes.

Accel World: Rebel Impulse

Sometime in 2047,
Kazuraba Junior High School
Neo Tokyo City

The school year has just begun.

All of you are standing just outside the gates of Kazuraba High. It’s relatively old, by Tokyo standards, as a high school; it was founded sometime in the early 1900 and overhauled in the 2020s after the rotting second floor collapsed onto the first floor. Thankfully, there were no casualties, but the school had to be evacuated and eventually demolished; however, the then-incumbent and still current headmaster, a man by the name of Tohru Akiyama who had inherited a small fortune from his family’s zaibatsu, paid and fought to keep the school site away from hungry developers looking to develop more housing after the earthquakes of the early 2000s. Instead, he rebuilt the school, with more modern-looking architecture and including the then-new Neuro Linker technology as part of the site’s new designs.

Indeed, the building is a cutting sight in the ward; several steel and glass buildings, resembling more high-class apartments than a school building. This is not helped by the large green areas on campus, with trees and bushes tastefully placed for aesthetic as well as environmental reasons; after all, in a bustling metropolis like Neo Tokyo, green becomes increasingly rare. Classrooms with new touch-screen interfaces and ports to connect Neuro Linkers installed into the tables can be seen from the outside through massive panes of toughened glass, as well as a new track for athletics and running, a new gymnasium and a separate building for the cafeteria and the first years. The whole place is also walled off from the outside world, with only two ornate black gates, as well as two smaller pedestrian gates opening on either side, permitting access to Kazuraba High from the rest of Neo Tokyo.

All in all, nothing particularly special about it aside from the fact that it looks as if a part of Shibuya ward- a train ride away- got itself lost and stuck far away from home.

You are students at this school. Whether you are new to Neo Tokyo and just starting your first year at Kazuraba High, or have been here for years and finishing your last, you’re standing at the open school gates. Whether talking to your friends in reality, or browsing the Internet on the overlay that Neuro Linkers provide, you’re in a world of your own.

For now.

((RP for now, more or less.))

We could tell you the story of a great group of warriors, drawn from different lands to fight a multidimensional threat desiring the destruction of all existence.
We could tell you the story of a bunch of misfits wandering around the multiverse, blowing up bad guys, engaging in blackjack and hookers and generally screwing everything up.
We could even tell you the story of a world where the metaphorical "lost socks" of the multiverse get dumped, and the tale of them growing to take over all of this dimension.

We, however, are a bunch of hacks and can't tell stories for toffees. Plus, the guys who came up with the other three would sue us for all we're worth.

Instead, we'll tell you the story of a bunch of random people in a random world, doing random things to get back home.

MULTIVERSE BUGABOO
In the vein of such old hallowed games as Lost and Found of the Multiverse, Everything: Gaiden and others, Multiverse Bugaboo is a freeform game. Yes, this means no systems, no mechanics and no crunch to be heard of.

The story: A bunch of random people from wherever and whenever get dragged into a random world in the multiversal equivalent of the middle of nowhere with other random people and whatever detritus and junk got ported onto the world with them.
The goal: Get home from this mess of a place. Somehow.
The actual goal: Or maybe getting home isn't what you want. The world's your junk-filled, almost certainly poisoned oyster. Maybe blackjack and hookers are your goal. Or world domination. I'd personally take the former.

However, this game still has some ground rules. We'll take a page from our Hallowed Heritage™ and put down the same rules as always:
0. DON'T BE A DICK. YOU WILL BE KICK. (This rule? Very important. Follow it. Along with the real Rule Zero.)
1. NO MARY SUES OR CANON CHARACTERS. BOTH WILL BE DEALT WITH BRUTALLY.
2. META AND YOU DIE.
3. GODMOD AND YOU ALSO DIE.
4. ESTABLISHED SETTINGS ARE OKAY. DON'T EXPECT OTHERS TO KNOW WHAT YOU'RE ON ABOUT THOUGH.

And here is a convenient character sheet for you to put stuff in:

Apart from that? Have fun.

Accel World: Rebel Impulse

((Based on the series of light novels and anime. Here's some links if you want to have a look.))
Background:
The year is 2047, nearly eight years after the release of the VRMMORPG Brain Burst into the city of Neo Tokyo.

You are players of Brain Burst, coming in shortly after the end of the Legion War, a war between the six Legions led by the Color Kings initiated by the Black King’s betrayal of the Red King. You have received the game by someone downloading it onto your Neuro Linker, the interface through which most modern technology is accessed, with your willing consent; whether or not it is a friend of yours or a fellow gamer, seeking fellow players, it is irrelevant. You have been taken into the Accelerated World, far beyond the one you reside in, and now possess the power to Accelerate and play the game through Duel Avatars, combat-specialised avatars designed for maximum fighting ability.

Your mission is to, with your Legion, lay out your claims to territory for your Legion and fend off all others. Maybe, just maybe, you may even reach Level 10, the highest level of the game itself, and meet the creator of this game. But be careful, for there are other Legions out there. The six Legions of the Pure Color Kings want the territory they vacated during the War back, and other Legions seek pieces of their own, wanting to carve out territory of their own too. Not only that, but there are rumours of enigmatic Burst Linkers and strange creatures in the Accelerated World…..

Everything Gaiden: Endless Carnival
"Let the Carnival begin!"

It's a normal day in the Endless City.

You find yourself standing in the middle of a sidewalk on the left side of a street, facing a red brick building. The small wooden windows of opaque glass and flower beds with flowers of all kinds underneath, along with the vine-cradled trellis lying above the sidewalk jutting from the building give it a quaint feel, one shared by the painted wooden silver sign over the door, revealing the cafè's name to be Arcadia Paradise. A small blackboard is propped up next to the door, telling visitors of today's specials in fresh white chalk.

The sign in the door says 'Open'.
You are free to do as you wish.

27
Everything Gaiden: Endless Carnival
(Because we don't have enough of these RPs.)

Setting:
The Endless City, a place in the middle of Whocares, Whateven. The city extends endlessly, having everything anyone could want. Of course, it's less really a city and more an amalgamation of many, many locations from everywhere and anywhere. Perfect to screw around with.

And indeed, that is where our characters get dumped to do....whatever.

The Rules:
1. Don't be a dick.
2. No character cap, but try to keep it sensible. Please, don't go using canon characters. And sensible ones.
3. Combat, if any, is freeform. Keep rule 0 in mind.
4. No plot, just nonsense. If you want plot, go make one yourself.
5. Have fun!

Character Sheet:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
And....that's really all to it! What, did you expect plot? Drama? This isn't the RP for you! This is balls-off-the-walls zaniness and....well, just look at the title.

Anyway, have fun!

Night Phase
Neo Kyoto City

Everyone:
The night is moonless, and the sky clear. There are no stars in the sky tonight. The air is heavy, as you stand in front of the circle you have drawn, whether in one’s own home or in a secluded place far away from any other potential opponent.

You all know what the circle is for; the invocation and summoning of a Servant, a spirit of great power, power unimaginable in the hands of modern humans, even the most skilled magi, only told of in legends and myths passed down from the long centuries and eons before, into one of seven ‘containers’, anchors holding them to the modern day. Whether as a mighty Saber, a swordsman of renown skill, or a far-striding Rider, who once rode upon the long empty plains of the world beholding all that was there, you have come to summon a Servant.

All one had to do was draw a circle, in theory, and chant the spell that one had been given. Some of the more savvy or resourceful acquired a catalyst, an artifact linked to the Spirit one desired to summon, in order to bring forth the Servant one desired.

Tonight, whether one wished to destroy Millennium and maintain the status quo, control it and drive the world to a new future, or use the supercomputer for one’s own wishes, this was the time they could join the fight for it.

All one needed to do was summon the Servant, and their struggle would begin.

Fate/millennium
The year is 2030.

The futuristic city of Neo Kyoto has experienced no catastrophic events ever since the earthquake of 2007. Neo Kyoto has prospered, under the watchful eyes of Neo Kyoto's local Magus Association, who carefully guide the city toward global significance. Their supremacy is unchallenged by any other Magus Association or group of Magi in Japan, and only carefully matched by the likes of London and Dublin abroad.

Recent digs to reclaim lost territory during the earthquake, however, revealed a strange construct unlike any made by man before, now or since; a strange array of crystalline structures- numbering in the hundreds of thousands, focused around a core of magical energy, connected to a strange device later identified as a computer terminal of unknown make, found in the basement of what was a former Internet cafe in downtown Old Kyoto. When it was activated, the terminal had but one word on the screen; Do you wish to usher in a new Millennium?.

Despite various scientists and linguistic experts attempting to enter affirmative answers into the terminal, it did not change. The computer was immediately sealed off for study by order of the Japanese government.

Ever since, the Millennium construct-as it came to be called- was rapidly identified to be a supercomputer, far more advanced than any computer humanity had the potential to come up for the foreseeable future, yet dating back 66 million years ago, around the time of the Cretaceous extinction event and the Chicxulub impact. Analysis revealed it to have records of almost every single event, figure, place and piece of information ever since that event. Further analysis by the Magus Association discovered an even more startling function; the Millennium supercomputer had the power to alter reality itself with the well of magical energy that constructed the core of the computer, if only one could figure out how to make the computer work. In effect, the supercomputer could grant wishes.

It was determined, however, that the best way of using the supercomputer was to destroy the terminal and directly influence the core. A ritual was drawn up that would theoretically force the core to grant their wish.

Immediately, the Magus Association sought to make use of the supercomputer to advance their aims and extend the influence of Neo Kyoto throughout the world, pulling the world under their grasp. However, this decision was not unanimous, and some Magi splintered from the Association, plotting to destroy the supercomputer and maintain the order of the world as it was. Yet others splintered away from this group, seeking to use Millennium for their own wishes. A war was to be fought, a secret war that was unlike any other fought before.

Yet, on the eve of the first skirmish between the Association and Rogue Magi, a strange event occurred.

Millennium turned on of it's own accord and changed the atmosphere of Neo Kyoto entirely. Suddenly, all the Magi- and some others, who desired Millennium but lacked knowledge of Magecraft or the ability to use magic at all- involved in the war knew a ritual that they had never seen before, one that was deemed impossible.

By the use of a catalyst and the sacrifice of blood, with a certain magical circle, it was possible to summon a being from myths, legends or even history, a Servant in the container of one of seven classes, to serve the Master. The first people to attempt it found something else- these Servants were far stronger than normal humans, far better at battle, bringing to bear Magecraft and weapons that the world had long forgotten or thought impossible, some even bearing Reality Marbles, Magecraft that approached True Magic.

All sides began to employ Servants in place of themselves to fight their secret war in their place and take control of Millennium.

The Millennium War had begun in earnest.

OOC: This is a roleplaying game based partially on the visual novel Fate/stay night and the spinoff game Fate/Extra. The concept of the game is that there are three factions of Masters fighting over the Millennium supercomputer- the Magus Association, seeking to control the supercomputer to rule over the world, the Rogue Magi, seeking to destroy it and maintain order, and the wild cards with their own aims and designs for the computer.

There are two kinds of characters here:
- Masters: Magus or non-Magus, these are normal humans who have taken control of a Servant and so can participate in the Millennium War. Their purpose is to command their paired Servant and fight to suppress the other faction in order to gain access to Millennium.
- Servants: Historical, mythical or legendary figures, these beings were summoned from a world beyond time and space to fight once more. Their purpose is to act as the champion of their Master and fight on their behalf to claim Millennium.

APEX ACADEMY

September 1, 20XX
Island Port
Morning Phase

It is a typical autumn day on Honmei Island. This island in the Pacific was where the school was situated; the founders had made it so to allow for students of all nationalities to easily access the school. After all, it was the school devoted to educating the best and brightest mankind had to offer; it made little sense for it to be affiliated with any government. In fact, the island belonged to no government or nation, rather belonging directly to the Apex Corporation, the group of thinkers who had founded the Academy itself.

A cool breeze is flowing from the shore, and the students have recently gotten off the ships that ferried them from the mainland, now standing upon the port leading to the school. They were all told they would be able to go back there every so often, to get on ships that would transport them to the mainland- thirty minutes away by boat- for day trips and excursions.

Apex Academy itself appears to be a massive, elegant mix between metal and brick; a tall, wide building with large windows and a large, sleek metal dome covering the top of the whole building. Separating the campus and the rest of the island is a tall, black metal grid fence, with an elegant black gate acting as the only entrance to the school from a dirt path snaking through the forest leading to the port.

At the port stands a fairly nice-looking girl with glasses, filing the students in on a clipboard in her arm and pointing towards their luggage, stacked up on the beach next to the path to the academy. According to the timetables you were all given on the boat, Orientation is in thirty minutes, whereupon you will be meeting the teachers.

Do as you please.

The Map has been updated.
