Good god. Aesford's knee feels like it's smacking into rock, the way he's going at it. Penelope doesn't seem to be showing much signs of being affected by it, except by groaning and her face contorting in pain.

Aesford steps backwards to lessen the impact of the blow, and realizes his misstep too late. To achieve some leverage out of the move, he wraps his hands around the back of Penelope's neck, using the momentum of his own fall to pull her down.Penelope feels his hands upon her neck and lifts her hands up to grab his arms, attempting to break his grasp by pushing up. She's surprisingly strong, again, managing to counter his weight, if only for a few minutes.

She moves back a lot less than you'd expect her to, however, and she doesn't seem winded. She simply shakes her head and puts her arms up to defend against an incoming attack.

Penelope's fist collides with Aesford's arms. Suffice to say, Aesford's arms will be stinging from that punch.
She pushes herself away from him, sliding back into her original stance as deftly and gracefully as she can. Which is quite so.
