[irr + irr v ??] The Primordial's attempt at appealing to the gods seems to succeed. For a moment.
Then She is bombarded with more hatred. Her images of the beauty of the world are twisted around, and thrown back at Her, as images of war, destruction, genocide, pollution and extinction are engrained into Her psyche. Followed by images of....nothingness. Just nothingness, darkness now and forevermore. No more pain, no more destruction. It would be the most wondrous peace. All She would need to do is to surrender and allow the gods to finish the job they had begun six hundred years ago.
She is bombarded with more and more hatred and thoughts of cleansing, purging and havoc, but Her will continues to hold.
Bit by bit, though, the will of the Many seems to be subsuming the will of the One. Even with her age and power, she cannot withstand this assault upon her much longer.
[irr v ??] Alanis is almost overcome by the sheer will of a countless multitude of gods. The will of one mortal cannot stand against them, and so hers almost immediately crumples. She collapses to the ground, clutching her head as the gods attempt to sear her soul out and turn her into a brainless creature-
However, before she can be truly overcome, a warm shield cleanses the influence of the creatures over her mind away like cool water over a burn. Her agony is lifted away gracefully, and a small voice whispers to her.
You will not fall now. Do not contend with gods, young one. Do your best to help us get away instead.
Yuri, it seems, has saved Alanis' life. For the moment, anyway. Alanis then turns her attention to the Vertex.
[29! v 10] With a mighty burst, Alanis' kinetic burst shatters the Vertex into many pieces, sending them skittering into the beyond. Before she can celebrate, another one floats into place, however.
[11, 20 v 9, 8] Eirika and Anna's attacks deliver a powerful shattering blow to the lower Vertex, with Yuri's final blast destroying it as it clings to life. Another arrives to replace it, however, maintaining the gap.
[23 v 9] Aesford slashes at the Pisces Vertex, cutting a gash through it. However, it regenerates quickly, with the gash quickly being restored by sparkling light and responds by blasting him backwards with a laser.
[15 v 9] Ian, however, draws his attention away by hurling a potato into the nearby mass of Stardust. It blasts a laser at it, destroying the potato but allowing Aesford to get away.
[18 v 18] Sandra impales the Vertex with her tentacle, splattering it with blood and dust. The Vertex lets out a screeching cry, and as the tentacle falls back, the hole it made regenerates.
[22 v 9] Hikari fires an arrow at the top Vertex holding the gash open, sticking a small crack in it.
[16 v 14] BOXWOOD attempts to advise on the Pisces Vertex, but he cannot seem to detect a weakpoint, having just seen it shrug off all the blows at it.
Suddenly, something comes alive in Alanis' head.
"I-I heard you, Alanis! What's going on?! Why am I detecting something.....big near you?"
Yuri shakes her head.
"We have to kill both of the Vertex at once!"
