Basically, your party is fucked beyond all belief and It that Embraces is trying to un-fuck you.

16817
also spear girl is nearly rip
time for mio to go insane big sister mode
not that she's her actual big sister
as you'll see when you see her sheet

16818
I'm already on my way with a medic to heal everyone's wounds. Tell Sora I'm on my way. Tell everyone else to keep her safe until I get there and defend themselves.

"Anyone who wants to help break the horde, follow me! The rest, help them fight off the Pisces Vertex!"

Mio raises her hand and gestures towards the horde, before heading over there with Ayane. Yuki nods to them, and turns to everyone else remaining.
"I will assist with the Pisces Vertex. Come with me if you wish to assist them as well."
The shieldmaiden diverts herself towards the larger one.

It that Embraces senses this 'Sora' Mio speaks of is the heavily-wounded spear-wielding young girl. Judging by the feelings she could sense in Mio thinking about her, she must care about her quite a lot.

yay

but also ringo's fucked ;-;

Turn 5
~Battle Theme (Domain Boss)~
Party A:
Player Turn:
”Ggh…..time to end this! For all of humanity, Heroic BARRAGE!”
With an uncharacteristically furious roar, Mio jumps at the Vertex, breathing in before attacking it with a series of all-out punches!
The first strike does 15 damage!
The second does 10 damage!
The third does 8 damage!
The fourth does 13 damage!
The final punch does 11 damage!

Mio lands next to Eirika, steadying herself. Her expression is unseen, as her face is towards the ground.

Eirika prepares to parry somehow, bracing herself. She’d done it before, but not against opponents as large as this.

Anna decides to repeat her earlier attack, this time in reverse. Her initial burst of shots deals 7 damage, before she deftly turns Vindicator back into a halberd, slamming it into the Vertex and dealing 13 damage with her initial swing and follows through with another strike, dealing 10 damage. The Taurus Vertex is in critical status!

Yuki decides to defend Idou this turn, redirecting half of all damage directed to Idou to Yuki.

THEME OVERRIDE: ~Random JoJo Theme That I Found Off Youtube And Thought Would Fit~
Idou then finishes off this fight with one final strike.

Or that would do, if this were anyone else but Idou.

No, Idou has more style than that. He deftly leaps over Yuki’s shield, using her as a stepping stone to jump towards the heavily weakened Vertex. With a yell, he summons Mint Gale to his side, thrusting his sword towards it with a killing intent. Stand and user attack in unison, pounding at the vast creature in unison.  Finally, with one mind, both Stand and user deliver the coup de grace, causing the Vertex to burst into a shower of stardust!

Idou has slain the Taurus Vertex.

Wait, there’s still some sort of thing remaining of the creature. A floating, pyramidical core still remains. Before anyone can attack, however, Mio holds up her hand.
”Wait! Let my friends and I take care of this.

Let’s seal it, once and for all!”

With a nod, the other two girls and Mio jump towards the core of the Taurus Vertex, before delivering a small, charged attack from each of their weapons towards it. Mio's attack seems far more....ferocious than expected.

The core glows bright white, before shattering into dozens of glowing multicoloured shards that fly off into the void, winking out at a certain distance.

The remaining Bovus Vertex retreat, but not before seemingly studying the people who had just contributed to slaying their larger companion. Nonetheless, victory has been had this day, if only against this one opponent.
Everyone who fought the Taurus Vertex receives a level up.

~Battle Theme (Boss)~
Party B:
Player Turn:
Chryssa, frustrated with being targetted for the umpteenth time, releases a loud battle cry, boosting her and her compatriots’ damage by 4 in their next action!

The Primordial gets behind Alanis before the barrier is put up, perhaps wishing to protect her. As for Her attack, well…

It seems to be completely invisible to anyone who sees normally. Through the Primordial’s vision, however, it’s far worse than that.

Normally, Her Embrace was intended to be warming, comforting and protective. However, these monsters had no need of Embracing, at least not that way. No, She had a better fate in store for them. She would Embrace them, alright; but She would crush them, press upon them with the eternity of Her life and existence and make them know nothing more than the darkness of Her Embrace for ever more. Now, at least, She may be partially avenged for the damage the Trespassers have done Her, even if these creatures didn’t seem to be Trespassers.

What everyone sees in practice is one Vertex being simply engulfed, not even a shower of stardust before it vanishes into nothingness. It that Embraces doesn’t even seem to have moved from her position.

Alria slashes at the Mus again, this time destroying it! Chryssa manages to finally get free of her tormentor.

Ian tosses a potato at the Primordial. Not to, at. The Primordial seems to…..absorb the potato into its mass. Somehow. Anyway, it heals 3 damage, so She is no longer critical.

The spear Hero seems to be dancing with her spear as she continues slashing through the horde, killing one more Vertex with her attacks.

Alanis extends the shield to her husbando the Primordial. Both are now protected by the same shield.

The Big Daddy bashes the remaining Vertex with a drill, killing it instantly.

Motya decides to continue his aid of Chryssa regardless of Vertexes, Big Daddies or hedonistic mercenaries attacking everything next to him, healing her for a further 14 health.

Sachi’s voice comes on in their heads again.
Great job, guys, but don’t rest yet. There’s another wave coming over. Get ready.
Enemy Turn:
This time, the swarm knows who to target.

Chryssa is, for the umpteenth time, the first target, this time being tackled by three Vertex. She is damaged for 22 health!

The spear-wielding Hero is assaulted by another three Vertex, being hit for 24 damage! The spear Hero is in critical status!

Three DO attempt to go for Motya, but the scientist kills them all with his claws before they even get close enough to damage him.

Another three attempt to attack Alanis, and her shield does not hold them up for long, failing entirely. She is struck for 13 damage and the shield that she used to protect herself and the Primordial is destroyed.

The last pair go for the Big Daddy, ramming into him for 10 damage. The Big Daddy is now in critical status.
Motya and It that Embraces regenerate their wounds, gaining 7 and 6 HP respectively.

~Battle Theme (Fierce Battle)~
Party C:
Player Turn:
Hikari, instead of attempting to attack the Vertex too much more, decides to support Garnt’s attacks. Garnt will now have 6 damage added to his attacks and Hikari will now counter attacks for him.

Tink builds a Heal-Mister 9000, managing to heal everyone for 4 health. He also summons a Boombot and boosts his Fel Cannon’s damage by 4.

”It’s time to even the odds! Have a light show of my OWN!”
Chizuru blasts a series of lasers at the Vertex with her magic!
The first ray hits for 7 damage.
The second hits for 15 damage.
The third lands for 23 damage.
The fourth lands for 24 damage. The Vertex is now in critical status!
The last ray goes off target but Chizuru smirks, satisfied with her the amount of damage she just did to it.

The remaining Overclocker attacks the Vertex again, dealing 6 damage.

Garnt backstabs the Pisces Vertex, feeling much faster than usual with Hikari watching his back. He deals 18 damage.

Sandra is ready for action once more.

Periw attempts to flee, but her confusion makes it hard for her to. She mistakes a piece of root for ground and treads on it, tripping and dealing 5 damage to herself. The turret’s damage is negated by the barrier again, and it self-destructs, having overheated too much to be of any more use. The Large Robonoid blows up, thankfully far away from everyone else and deals a petty 6 damage to the Vertex. Paltry compared to Chizuru and Garnt.

The Fel Cannon fires upon the Vertex again, dealing 7 damage.

The Boombot rushes at the Vertex and explodes! However, the explosion is absorbed by the Vertex’s powerful natural defenses.

A rather drunk Ringo comes onto the scene suddenly, and everyone, even the rather confused Periw (literally), gets to cover as he fires five shots with his gun at the Vertex!
First shot: negated.
Second shot: negated.
Third shot: negated.
Fourth shot: negated.
Fifth shot: negated.

Ringo looks on in shock as all of his shots are absorbed by the barrier.
Enemy Turn:
The Vertex’s orb seems to give Ringo an incredulous expression, despite having no face, pupils or indeed any features to portray any sort of expression whatsoever, before blasting everyone with more furiously scattered rays.
Ringo is struck for 18 damage!
Ringo is struck again for 23 damage! Ringo is now unconscious and bleeding out!
Mercifully, the next shot misses Tink by a thread, and the Vertex doesn’t bother with continuing that line of assault.

Instead, it blasts Chizuru and Sandra with blue lasers, both at once, dealing 12 damage to Chizuru and 14 damage to Sandra.

Finally, it blasts Periw again. Mercifully, it only does 1 damage due to her fortifications.
Sachi’s panicked voice comes on.
Ringo’s wounded badly! He’s d-dying….

S-someone, stabilise him, quickly!

Chizuru and Hikari heal 5 and 2 health respectively from the bandages. The Heal-Mister heals everyone except Ringo for 7 HP. Periw is no longer critically injured.

A question:What's the maximum range on Alanis's abilities?

I'm thinking it would be some multiple of SYN...
Your maximum range is: However much the GM allows you to hit from.

EDIT: rip ringo in pis

16822
very, very far
also alanis has more pressing things to worry about
like the huge wave of vertex that's going to eat the rest of her friends after they kill this one

16823
also yep party c better pray to the rng gods
one of your only hopes for winning this is useless
the other one is confused with a 50/50 chance of faceplanting on the floor
praise tink, he might save you
hopefully

16824
no
clearly their heads exploding at 0 HP makes more sense
duh

stupid real world logic users, thinking they can get away with complaining about everything

16825
go petition san about that
although actually i think you go unconscious/incapacitated for a turn and THEN die if nobody heals you

16826
Yuki's skill that allows her to take on half of all incoming damage towards a protectorate. It's in her sheet.

The inexplicably popular Critical Existence Failure trope is in full - and silly - effect, it seems.
but then how could we have dramatic death scenes without it

16827
Death by 0. Unless you're Ian. Or Mio. Or Garnt. In which case you either go unconscious or revive out of sheer will/because the powers that be hate you and want you to suffer eternally by living on until you literally become a mindless zombie by constantly reviving.

16828
Alright, just Idou and Periw left. I'm going to auto them if neither of them post by the time I announce the next turn.

Although if San doesn't post, Party C is PROBABLY dead.

16829
Hana has....already finished her lunch, it seems, and has returned to gaming.

16830
((Yes. Chizuru just got smacked earlier for 4 HP from the laser.))
